3 Month Old Feedings

How often does your 3 month old EBF?

Re: 3 Month Old Feedings

  • My LO was born May 1 so he's almost 3 months and he still nurses very often during the day(every 1-2 hours unless he has his usual 3 hour nap in the afternoon). He wakes once in the middle of the night to nurse, then he's up around 6am and we nurse and cuddle for an hour or so, then he sleeps again until 9ish and its back to every 1-2 hours. I don't mind though...actually, I love it. It's my favourite thing to do ❤️

  • My DS just turned 2 months and he's nursing 6-7 times per day. Typically every 3 hours starting at 6am until 6pm. Sometimes he has another feed at 8 and then always one feed in the night. From what I've read I'm anticipating we will be doing that until about 4 months. Hopefully dropping that occasional 8pm feed once he is consistent with an early bedtime.
  • No night feeds, 5 during the day. Maybe 6 if she's very fussy and I can't calm her any other way. She actually doesn't seem to eat much but she's growing like she should.
  • She eats on average of 6x a day. No night feeds she sleeps around 8 hrs at night. I've been trying to put her down before her 10 o clock feeding at around 8 but she just wants to be awake and play at that time, oh well

    Ditto this!
  • My LO's almost 3 months. He eats about 8-11 times during the day, but then sleeps 8-9 hours (last night 10!) at night without a nighttime feed.
  • My LO is formula fed but is 3 months and eats every 2-3 hours during the day and sleeps 8 hours at night, up to eat, then back to sleep for 3 more hours.
  • Usually around seven with one night feed.

So jealous. Our schedule at 2.5 months is approximately this:

    7:30pm - bedtime
12:30am - feed for 30 min, back to sleep
3am - feed for 10 min, back to sleep
6am - feed for 10 min, back to sleep
8am - feed and "up" for the day
    10am - feed and nap (1hr)
    12noon - feed and nap (1hr)
    2pm - feed and nap (1hr)
    4pm - feed
    6pm - feed

He gets that one 5-hour stretch and the rest are all short periods of sleep (2 hours during the night and 1 hour during the day).

    @marijaa333
My son is almost exactly copy and paste this! Although he has only given us that 5hr stretch once, usually it is 3-4hrs the first stretch, then every 2-3hrs until the 4:30/5am feed when he feeds every hour until he's awake for the morning at 7/8am. He'll be 3 months next week and guessing this will continue for a while (he was a premie). Glad to know I'm not the only one with a hungry alert boy!
