For me, it's deli meat all the way. Most of the time I remember to heat it up, but I'll admit there have plenty of times I haven't. I probably eat tuna more often than I should, too.
I'm an extremely picky eater, so I'm not missing out on anything I would normally eat. A few weeks ago, however, I took a sip of a friend's sangria, held it in my mouth to taste it, and then spit it out bc I am going fully alcohol free (no judgment to those who don't). I just really wanted a taste!
I am not super into the whole "you can't eat this or that thing" so I wouldn't really call it cheating to me. But I've indulged in quite a few hotdogs throughout this pregnancy (side note: it's national hotdog day, so I very well may have one today)
I don't like sushi or wine, which I feel like tend to be the most common "cheat" but they aren't an issue for me. So hotdogs are my terrible pregnant lady indulgence.
I wouldn't say that I've cheated but I am not doing that great at eating super healthy. I had Taco Bell for lunch and can't wait to get off of work to go to a local bar with my sister, her husband and my husband to chow down on some amazing nachos!
I'm team eat what you want in moderation, however I have to buy a bridesmaid dress for a month after the baby is due so I've been trying to stay as healthy as I can. Donuts were buy one get one free and I splurged thinking my husband could have the second. I ate both, in under 5 minutes. It was glorious.
It's not exactly cheating, just not the best choice but so good... I had taco bell for lunch yesterday and today! Ohh, and then DH said he really wanted taco bell for supper and has all day so how could I say no to that?!
I am also on team eat what I want. Had a glass of champagne and a glass of Merlot at two different weddings. I caught a buzz and actually felt guilty but I think everything in moderation is okay.
Had a Small glass of Pinot noir last night, no regrets. I had an insane day at work and had to work overtime and if ever I needed a drink after work, it was that day! I was wearing a shirt that isn't as obviously maternity, so nobody batted an eye at me at the wine store.

I'm also team eat everything. I had two subs last week. One from Wawa, my fave! I also had a glass of pinot on our babymoon last week. I savored it through the whole meal.
Yep, I've had froyo a couple of times, and some frozen custard... And some medium steaks and burgers, too, but other than that I've pretty much been playing it safe. Oh, how I miss my lunch meats...
Various sources say that after 20+ weeks (I've read differing starting points), laying on your back while sleeping, working out, etc. can be problematic. Apparently the weight of the uterus can compress the major vein leading from lower body back to the heart, causing dizziness, etc but also potentially interfering with the supply of blood and nutrients to LO and placenta. This has been a tough one for me! I've tried side sleeping but then wake up in the middle of the night horrified to find out in back on my back. Ah well. This morning I, too, woke up on my back and hit snooze. It was glorious.
I'm also in team eat what I want. I have medium rare steaks, lunch meat, hot dogs etc. I even had a half pint of guinness while I was in Ireland touring the plant back in may. LO has been perfectly healthy. Going crazy over the fear that something could happen would drive me nuts. I have a higher chance getting listeria from a salad versus the lunch meat I eat. Relax and eat a turkey sandwich. Lol jmo.
So far I've eaten one Jimmy Johns sub and had taco bell twice during the pregnancy (22 weeks) as well as one hot dog. I've taken 4-5 micro sips of random drinks here and there just for taste and had half of a tiny glass of wine. I really miss drinking. I've had ceviche twice too but I'm Peruvian so I don't see that as cheating. I heard somewhere we aren't supposed to eat sausage. ..I've eaten that 2-3 anyway. Not too bad I think.
Excuse my ignorance, why is sleeping on your back cheating? xx
It's puts pressure on your inferior vena cava and cuts of oxygen to your uterus. But I've been told by multiple reliable sources that 1. it's only when you're lying completely flat on your back, so if you're hips are adjusted or elevated, it won't matter and 2. You'll be uncomfortable and have trouble breathing long before there's a real problem.
I'm on team eat what you want (as is my doctor) but I've got gestational diabetes so my cheat was I ate about 1/2 cup more coconut rice at lunch than I should have to keep within my carb limits. I think I hit around 75 carb instead of 60 so it's not a major deal, but I'm trying really hard to be good. It just seemed silly to put that little bit of rice back in the fridge instead of eating it.
And you know what, mixed with the tiki marsala chicken it was fucking amazing.
If there's something strange underneath the hood. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. If there's something weird and it don't look good. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. Immediately. If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor. It's for your health and your child's.
