Pain in vaginal area???

Today I am 28 weeks along, for the past month in a half I have this various pain in my vaginal area when I stand up. This pain only comes in the morning and at nights, it's more on the left side of my pelvic area. I don't know if this is normal. I tried to talk to my doctor about it but every time I go he's always busy with delivering other babies or other ladies. This is kind of scaring me now that I'm further along in the pregnancy.

Re: Pain in vaginal area???

  • It's normal pressure from the baby. Try to relax and sit on ball and rotate your hips. Unless there is spotting and cramping it should be normal. You can always call Dr.s officec and speak to nurse.

  • There are a lot of ligaments that are stretching and growing inside your body. I was constantly having a new pain in a part of my lower abdomen and pubic area that I didn't even know existed. The best thing you can do is keep active to keep the ligaments from tensing up and do not be afraid to soak in a bath. They're extra sensitive in the morning because they've had a chance to stiffen and at night since they've been working all day (typical muscle pain) if it continues or becomes too painful ask your doctor about a support band. Will work wonders!
  • Are you on your feet a lot? I have the same pain because of my job I am on my feet for a couple hours at a time. My dr suggested this belt type thing, helps relieve pressure on your pelvic area. Doesn't take it away completely but helps.
  • wondering the same thing - I keep having stabbing pain randomly in my crotch....I once read the baby can kick you there, so I just assume that's what it is.

I too get this pain! It's like I did 5,000 squats. I'm on my feet all day and work on a hard floor. Gonna ask about that support band.
  • It has nothing to do with what you do with your day and everything to do with when your baby moves and how he/she moves. I've been getting these pains for a month or so now. And it gets worse the lower she gets. I'm 34 weeks and she's head down using my walls as her "pillows" so every time she moves she pushes against my ligaments causing the pain. It's totally normal and unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it. If I'm standing when it happens I stop and wait for it to pass. If I'm sitting I stand up as quick as I can and it goes away. Hang in there mama. It'll all be over soon :)
