April 2016 Moms

BFP!

I am 9 DPO and this morning I got a faint positive! I was trying so hard to wait til at least 10 dpo but with my temperature higher than ever for the last couple of days I was feeling pretty confident (I track with OvuView. It's super shiny).

This is so huge for me. I have never been pregnant before. I'm 33 and my husband and I have been trying for a little over two years. I was diagnosed with PCOS towards the beginning of this journey and I've been working really hard on changing my diet. I used the book Womancode and it fixed my cycles and made this possible! I didn't do any interventions and the only medication I'm on is a thyroid one.

I know it's super early yet but just the fact that we got to this point is such a blessing. I can't believe that after two years it can just happen. Just like that.

It's great to meet you all and I can't wait to hear more positive stories!

Re: BFP!

  • Welcome!!! I'm so happy for you! I bet you're just over the moon! I think there's only three of us here so far, including you, and I think both myself and the other mama have been pregnant before, so feel free to ask any crazy questions! It's a wild ride!!

    Awesome!

My cousin says it's normal that I don't really feel much yet. It's hard to believe that anything is different!

I feel 100% normal. My pregnancies never have extreme symptoms.

    Well, apparently I was wrong.

Test this morning at 11 DPO was definitely negative.

    I don't know what happened.

I guess people say that the blue line tests are not as reliable and I'm going to have to get on that bandwagon. I thought it was just user error but I followed those directions extremely carefully. The pink line test today says no.

I'm very sad and frustrated. We've done everything right, our cycle looked perfect. I've been waiting nearly three years now for it to be our moment and I don't know if that day will ever come. Infertility sucks.

EDIT: I went ahead and took another of the blue dye tests, the same package as the one I took on Monday (I still had my FMU in a cup!) and it also came out negative. This is suggesting to me that maybe it was a chemical pregnancy? That would be a good sign for me so I'm going to try to see a doctor to confirm.

Don't count your self out yet. I tested at 12 DPO and got a negative. A little over 24 hours later I used a FRER and it came out positive. Maybe it's still too early. Fx

Give it about 2-3 more days and then test. Fx

  • @cm006j This happened to me with my first pregnancy. Faint line positive at 10 and 12 dpo and negative at 14 dpo. It was a chemical pregnancy and my son was conceived a month later. I've read that cp happen in about 50-60% of first pregnancies and many people don't even catch them since you have to test early. It doesn't make it any less painful though.

I would still test again though closer to your period though with the frer. Just in case the test that showed negative had less dye. Also, if it does end up to be a cp, I would keep your doctor in the loop on what is going on so they can continue to monitor and see what's going on.

Hugs , wish you the best in whatever the result is and hope you get your sticky baby soon.

I feel calmer now thinking it's a chemical. That's a really positive sign for me and makes me feel a lot better than that I messed up the test. They do say it happens up to maybe 75% of the time.

If I did manage to get pregnant that is a big and important step.

I'll just try to get next cycle to look as perfect as this one!
