I totally have a question on this subject as well... Does the baby move less the day you go in labor? Does it feel like alot heavier weight when labor is coming closer? Just wondering from stm's!

Call your doctor or go to L&D. No one here can tell you if you're in labor or if you need medical attention or if nothing at all is happening.

Mainly the start of period-like cramps. DD1 was super active the night I went into labor. I'm not sure it's related or not, but it was almost as if she was burrowing deeper. Hope that makes sense.
Contractions lasted 2.5 days for me with my first. So long and exhausting. My water never broke until they broke it at the very end. They started with period like cramps - a dull achy feeling. Those started at night and made it really hard to sleep. Then contractions just progressed from there. Just a suggestion...stay home and work through it as long as you can. So much more comfortable at home and if you aren't dilating enough, they will send you home anyway. You will know when it is time to go. Something I remembered from a lamaze class I took...if you are able to smile for the camera walking out the door to the hospital, then you aren't ready to go. You will absolutely not be smiling.
I was hot, miserable, couldn't stop pacing, felt like I was going to be sick but not pukey, felt like I had to have a bm and ended up with bloody show, then contractions started within the hour after that ordeal. I was 41w4d.
I'm 38 weeks as of yesterday with my second. (Labor with my first was unusual & not a good example) I woke up this morning with horrible stabbing pains inside my right hip area that was bringing on contractions & making me feel like I was going to hurl. It was so bad I couldn't stand, sit or lay- I was in tears from the pain. I've had light bloody discharge & period like cramps for a few days but I'm suspecting the blood is from my internal exam 2 days ago. I called my OB who wasn't there & isn't going to be in today. The nurse told me to lay on my left side & see if the pain goes away. She said she knew that the OB was trying to "stretch" me? What does that mean? I'm not sure if I'm making it worse because I just want him here already or if it really is labor coming on.

Sounds like they swept your membranes. Surprised they didn't ask you first?! That's how I felt after I had done with my first. Unfortunately it didn't work for me and just made me feel super uncomfortable. You could be feeling just the uncomfortableness of it or could be labor staring for you so good you called your doctor. Good luck!
Re: STM's - what were your first signs of labour?
Any other "signs"aren't a guarantee of labor actually starting.
Does the baby move less the day you go in labor?
Does it feel like alot heavier weight when labor is coming closer?
Just wondering from stm's!
