Monday Check In

Re: Monday Check In

  • @AuntBB22 My best friend got me some of the preggy pops and I have lived on them for the past few weeks when I've been terribly nauseous. I think they really work but it might also just be me talking myself down in my mind ;)

  • @dannyjo2012 I find that I have food aversions as well. A lot of things I used to love eating I just can't stand to even look at anymore. So I try other things I don't eat as much, I went to the store and picked what looked good to me at the moment.

It was hard for me to find something to eat for lunch since no deli meats, but now I eat vegetarian "mock-meats" instead and those are really good. And yes fruit always seem to be easy to eat, and most vegetables.

And today I hate all the food and all the sparkling water.  Aversions have hit hard today and yet lunch can't get here soon enough.
    THIS! Exactly.

  • Week: 3w5d. I just found out I was expecting yesterday!

What's new with baby (size, development): poppy seed.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: just trying to keep up on my daily water intake, get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and take vitamins.

Rant/rave/symptoms: My back has been hurting and I've been getting headaches... Yuck.

    Questions for the Group:

GTKY: What did you do this weekend?
We went to the county fair and just spent a lot of time with family.
  • Week:

What's new with baby (size, development): 5-6 weeks

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: nothing yet

Rant/rave/symptoms: my boobs still feel totally normal. Kind of freaks me out.

Questions for the Group: I guess... Is EVERYONE experiencing sore breasts??

GTKY: What did you do this weekend?
We went to a lake for a little getaway with friends who also have a LO our daughter's age and who are expecting again.
  • Congratulations!!!
  • @laurabeekmann - I didn't really have sore boobs with #1 and have yet to have sore boobs with this one. Doesn't mean anything. You most likely won't get all the symptoms. Try not to freak out lol.

I'm new. This is my first pregnancy and I'm pretty excited!

    Week: 4 Day 5

What's new with baby (size, development): Endoderm, mesoderm, and ectoderm development - very exciting.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We're trying to figure up which OBGYN we want to work with. Told our parents - they went nuts.

Rant/rave/symptoms: Sleepy and I have to pee all the time. Queasy in the morning until about 2P - not bad, but consistent.

Rice cakes help. I've been sucking down water infused with ginger and mint - I don't know if it's working, but it tastes great!

    Questions for the Group:

GTKY: What did you do this weekend?
Slept in the sun, then disc-golf and a dog walk with the husband, followed by more sleeping.
  • Week: 5

What's new with baby (size, development): Appleseed

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Avoiding cleaning out the spare room, although we'll have to start eventually.

Rant/rave/symptoms: Just feeling ridiculously nauseous the past week. For some reason when I'm up and about doing stuff it's not as bad. I wonder if I just distract myself from it?

Questions for the Group: I'll save my questions for later ;)

GTKY: What did you do this weekend? Cooked Lasagna for my Oma (grandmother-in-law) on Saturday and then bummed around watching Netflix yesterday because it was so darn hot!
  • My symptoms are actually like I'm just hungover 24/7. UGH!

  • Week: 4w

What's new with baby (size, development): poppy seed.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:
Made first prenatal appointment! It's in about a month and I'm excited and nervous.

    Rant/rave/symptoms:
Sore boobs! And the already large things have gotten bigger. On Saturday my mom noted my bra didn't seem to fit properly. Thanks, mom. (I haven't told her yet.)
GAS. I'm so bloated. I keep playing "gas or cramp?" with myself which is a much fun game. I highly recommend it.

    Questions for the Group:

GTKY: What did you do this weekend?
I saw my family and my brother's new kitten! So cute.

Week: 4.2 (I think but my doctor is putting me at 5.6 so who knows?)

What's new with baby (size, development): Poppy seed

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Had my first appointment to confirm my pregnancy today and I have my first prenatal on Wednesday.

Rant/rave/symptoms: Trying to figure out insurance is the most frustrating thing ever! My insurance from my old job ended and my new insurance doesn't kick in until September. I've spent hours trying to figure out how to get covered for one month. I literally started crying in my car.

Questions for the Group: Nothing today.

GTKY: What did you do this weekend? Just hung out with my husband.

  • Hi hello! Just introduced myself on the Intro post and thought I'd start joining conversation!

    Week 4.1

What's new with baby (size, development): A little poppyseed

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Made my first doctor appointment today. I'm high risk (past ectopic and miscarriages) so I'll get a scan next Tuesday to hopefully make sure everything is where it should be.

Rant/rave/symptoms: Boobs are super sore and my lower back hurts a little bit, but other than that I feel great. Also petrified that I am going to have yet another early loss. We've been TTC since 5/13. It's so hard to NOT get excited and I know I shouldn't yet, but damn if I can't help it!

Questions for the Group: none yet!

GTKY: What did you do this weekend? I spent some QT with my husband since he is OOT for the week. We saw Ant-Man which I actually thought was pretty good despite the mediocre reviews.

What's new with baby (size, development):  still cooking!!!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: perusing Etsy for big sibling shirts and Pinterest for sibling photos/pregnancy announcements

Rant/rave/symptoms: Saw the little seahorse on the ultrasound today! So far, everything is good!

    Questions for the Group:

GTKY: What did you do this weekend?  I got a pedicure.  : D
  • Week:

Rant/rave/symptoms: my boobs still feel totally normal. Kind of freaks me out.

Questions for the Group: I guess... Is EVERYONE experiencing sore breasts??

My boobs aren't that sore, but I never get sore breasts before my period either. I think this is another symptom that affects everyone differently.

Mine aren't sore at all either. I've noticed nothing different.

  • If you really feel like you're going to puke, try this: breathe thru your nose and smile, cheeks stretched all of your teeth showing. I learned this from Mike Rowe and Dirty Jobs. It seems to help me at least until I can get to the bathroom.

  • @mrspepper05 I am finding that the only thing that is helping me is to keep my stomach full. Nibbling crackers might take the edge off, but my nausea only really goes away after I eat a full meal.

No boob soreness here. Really a whole lot of nothing here at all besides being sort of tired. Welcome to the normal feeling boob club.
