  • Remington is usually a male name, it's actually my male chihuahuas name... Skylar is okay but not my style, and Kennedy is beautiful, except I prefer it spelled traditionally. No need to change letters. I'm not sure what your style is because these seem to be three different styles, but some other names I like are:
    Harper
    Reagan
    Sadie
    Lily
    Tinley
    Kinley
    Alice
    Delaney
    McKenna as a first name...

Hope this helps you at least a little bit.
  • Considering all of these names with the exception of Remington are in the top 300 girl names I find that question extremely rude and stupid. No need to reply if you're going to be immature.

  • I think I can agree with everyone that to me those names are unattractive. If I had to choose any Skylar McKenna ?

  • These are all pretty bad. I like Quinn.
  • Lord, if you have to stick with these please at least get rid of Remington. I'm sorry, but that is so going to be the Crystal/Candi stripper name of our children's generation.

There are better options to be had.
  • I'm sorry but I don't care for any of these at all. If you were willing to spell it Kennedy, that would be the best IMO. Otherwise, Quinn as a first name (though I prefer non androgynous names). You might get better feedback if you tell us your style or what you are looking for - unisex names, strong names, goes with X, etc
  • Oh lordy. Skylar is a masculine name and a crappy one, sorry. Remington is awful and reminds me of guns. Kennedi is a misspelled surname. Quinn is also masculine. All these names scream trendy and will not age well at all.

    Some suggestions:

    Brooke
    Claire
    Fallon
    Shelby
    Noelle
    Justine
    Sloane
    Blair
    Madeline
    Paige
    Tessa
    Ariane
    Delaney

None are fantastic. I definitely don't like Remington at all whatsoever, it shouldn't be used for a human male, let alone a human female. I don't really like Skylar either.

I do like Quinn though, could it be a first name option? I personally think it's the best name up there. Kennedy isn't too bad I guess but definitely not my style.

    Quinn Michaela
    Quinn Aria / Aria Quinn
    Quinn Avery
    Quinn Ariana
    Quinn Ainsley
    Quinn Delaney
    Quinn Elena
    Quinn Mckenzie
    Quinn Alexis
    Quinn Bailey

    Harper Quinn
    Rayna Quinn
    Audrina Quinn

    Kendall
    Cadence
    Brenna
    Jocelyn
    Callista

Hope some of these suggestions spark something
  • Yea sorry but these are brutal. Only name I would use up there is Quinn and it's not the greatest.
  • Remington is awful and reminds me of guns.

    Or razors.

  • I completely understand wanting to use a gender neutral name for your baby girl as there is gender discrimination in the work place and a gender neutral name on a resume may help her to get more interviews in the future. If that's what you're going for then I would suggest something that may mature more easily with her:

    Taylor
    Casey
Riley (although a little too popular for my taste)
    Reese
    Cameron
    Carter
    Logan
    Rory
    Cory
    Morgan

I would also pair it with a feminine middle name just to give her options. She may decide at some point that she would prefer to go by something girly. Options never hurt anyone.

  • Someone needs a spelling class.

Rude and stupid? Pot meet kettle.
  • Didn't you post about the name Doris a few weeks ago? What happened to that?

  • No, please no. I can get on board with Quinn. Not a fan of McKenna but at least people will think it's a girl.

Kennedi and Remington... I pray you're joking!

  • I agree with PP, those names aren't the nicest out there. OP, what do you like about these names? (That's a genuine, non snarky question). If I know what you like about them maybe I can make some suggestions.

My reason for not liking these names is
    a) they're masculine names and masculine =/= strong. There are plenty of strong girls names.
    B) Some are misspelled which means if they will be judged by future employers as being uneducated or from a low socioeconomic status (there are studies on this). Giving a common name with a "youneek" spelling doesn't make it any more special.
    C) They are awfully trendy. There are some names that are classics and will mostly always be popular (Olivia, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Mary, Anne). Trendy means your child's age could be accurately judged based on their name (eg. Jessica =1980s/90s). It's very popular now, but will it be forever?

These are just my reasons. Its not a reflection on you or your baby. If these reasons don't bother you, then go ahead but I'm guessing these are the reasons people are not on board with them.

  • Just echoing what the others have said. All of those names are not good. Just to try and add to the reasons why

    1) Mc anything names mean "son of". McKenna means Son of Kenneth. Just because a lot of dumb people use these names on girls does not mean it's any less dumb. The only exception is Michaela which is the feminine version of Michael and, despite exceptionally stupid people making it worse by using McKayla, is not an Gaelic/Irish surname.

    2) Skylar is a butchered spelling of the Dutch surname Schuyler (pronounced the same way). In Dutch it means "scholar". As a Dutch person, I opening the judge the heck out of people who use this name. I mean you are naming your child a name of a nationality that is not yours, that means "scholar" and you spell it incorrectly? The irony is just too much.

The rest others have covered. I think you can back to the drawing board and come up with something a lot better.
