Halloween Costumes!

So, Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year and I love dressing up.  This year, I'm really excited about being pregnant on Halloween, but I haven't decided yet what I want to dress up as.  Most of the pregnant costumes I've seen online involve belly painting, which is just not going to happen in freezing weather and with all my stretch marks.  If baby comes early (I'm due Nov 18), there will definitely be a last-minute errand someone is running to the store to get the baby an outfit!

Anyone have any ideas for halloween costumes?  We may even have a get-together if I'm up for it, since I am definitely not going to someone else's party at 37 weeks.   I think that will be a last-minute decision for sure.

  • Pinterest has some great posts :)
  • Loading the player...
  • No belly painting as I don't want people looking at my naked belly, but I was thinking of doing a baseball on a tshirt. Go Red Sox :)

I have only dressed up once while pregnant and that was with my first pregnancy. I was about 5 1/2 months pregnant. Now I just have fun dressing my boys :)

I just got a regular costume at Walmart that was stretchy
  • I'm the same - I LOVE Halloween and was super excited to be able to do a costume while pregnant. Someone I knew dressed as Big Boy one year, and it was great. I saw a Humpty Dumpty idea on Pinterest that was pretty good too. I think I'm planning on (at least for work) sticking a few doll limbs on a shirt holding a little treat basket. Nothing gory though - that's a little too morbid even for my tastes. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/28851253839266321/

I actually think that's kind of cool. Would never do it myself of course.
  • I am excited to dress up as well.
I found an idea on pinterest that I am using. Paint a T-shirt with a big circle over your belly, where a chain link necklace and attach a barbie with short pigtails.
    Miley on her wrecking ball!
Its easy, and kind of funny. I also have to work on Halloween (if I am able) so the costume is dress code appropriate.
  • I was thinking about being a big pumpkin (because that's how I feel) and my 15 month old being a little pumpkin. Although, I just found out my due date is now on Halloween moved from Nov 3rd- I'm hoping I go early so I can dress my new one up! I found a lot of newborn costumes on etsy; crossing my fingers because that will be a great photo op!
  • I've seen some shirts online with different things drawn on the belly area- cute skeletons or little witches in utero. I'm not due til end of Nov so I'll prolly get one of those shirts.
  • I'm super excited for this

  • Gonna be a pumpkin! If baby comes early, we will probably just stay in and eat all the candy!
  • Haha- I'll be taking it easy around and on Halloween. I'm much more of a Christmas person!

I saw a cute beach ball shirt. I'll probably just stick to that because I'm lame and lazy... lol
  • The first time I was pregnant I did a whole treasure troll costume, Nude leotard and I found a giant jewel that went over the belly button. When it came down too it I chickened out last minute! I think i'm going to do it this year lol..
  • I am still due officially nov 2 but I really don't know if I will still be pregnant by Halloween - by my calculations I had figured I should pop around oct 27th, so it's really kind of a coin toss, lol.  If I'm pregnant, I haven't found the perfect costume yet - my going fav is a mother earth costume with the belly painted like the world.  I really kind of dig the idea.  If I have the baby I'm not sure what I'll do - in fact it's pretty likely I could be spending Halloween night in the hospital, lol.  If I have people over, maybe I'll try to find or make a tiny little Disney princess costume.  We were thinking about Belle for a name, so maybe that.

First time pregnant and so excited!

  • Well this one is a bit more gruesome but Halloween is one of my absolute favorite times of year/ Holidays. Every year I do a big party with friends, and do up the yard with lights and whatnot. This year I'm going to be Ripley from Alien and have a face hugger t shirt to go over my belly :-D

    Super excited.
  • I'm just going to wear a rat fink shirt. Maybe do my hair in a 40's theme. Skinny jeans and chucks. Rat fink has a big belly and so do I;)
  • I think I'm going to show off my nerdy love with a death star tshirt. I'm a little bummed to stay home and hand out candy while DD and DH go out but there is no way I'll feel like trick or treating!
  • I am loving all these ideas! I'm glad I'm not the only geek excited about Halloween! I'm half considering attempting a pregnant cop a-la Fargo... It'll probably be cold enough here to to wear it, but it might be a bit challenging to put together.

Also thinking maybe I could do Juno, although I'd be a pretty tall version!

@Cook3133 love the shark costume for the dog lol my moms dog Rico went as a hot dog and her other dog Lily went as a banana lol I got my dog on Halloween last year so he went as a tiny 6 week old Chihuahua lol

And my little guy could be here before or after so we will cross that bridge when we get there lol but I was thinking about some cute shirt to wear because if he's not here by then I'll be HUGE.. If he is.. I'm hiding in my bed and watching random movies while my DH passes out candy!!

    Edit for spelling..

I'm definitely heading down this route too, except I want to add my art history dorkiness and a dash of nerdfighter too by adding "Ceci n'est pas une lune" in the style of Magritte's famous painting of a pipe (I think it's called the Tyranny of Images...but my brain may have just made that up), which in itself is a neat little reference to The Fault In Our Stars. To be honest I think I might just make myself that T shirt now and wear the ish out of it, regardless of whether it's halloween...
  • Due November 6th so if baby holds off until due date (or later) and I'm feeling up to it, I'm going to do "Pooh Bear". Long sleeve yellow shirt with a short sleeve red shirt on top. probably paired with some black leggings. In South Louisiana though, October is unpredictable so the weather could be 80's or 40's lol

I love the idea of being Juno!!! I'm tall as well but I think my short Asian husband would really throw it off haha!

My DH would love if I did that. I was originally going as pin up but then got pregnant. I was also gonna put my girls in rockabilly outfits. We decided to save it for next year plus we will have a super cute rockabilly baby boy to add.

My husband is short, too, (but not Asian). He is the opposite of Michael Cera, short and husky, not tall and thin! Plus I'd never get him into running shorts lol.

I went to see them a few years back and when John signed all my books he totally thought I was 16. I was probably about 26. I didn't know if I should be flattered or crushed that my nerd crush thought I was so young!

You should totally take a picture to send in for some John Green love!
  • I was thinking pregnant 50s style housewife and have my bf be the milkman lol
  • A few years back my sis wore a blue tank and then put a black cheap tee over it and cut out the belly of the tee so the blue showed thru. She got some cat ears and a tail and put fish stickers on the belly. Cat with a fishbowl! If I hold out this year I think hubby is going as a golfer and I am going to be his hole in one!
  • I am still debating whether to be a snowman or a kangaroo! They're both pretty cheap to make!
  • There's a good chance my baby will be here for Halloween, in which case I am going to have my husband dress up as Matt Smith Dr. Who and the baby will be Stormageddon. Because that literally just involves the baby dressing in baby clothes. I'll just be eating candy, myself. :)
I am going to have to watch those episodes again tonight.  I loved Stormageddon and the poor dad was trying so hard to prove he could handle it all even before the cybermen.  lol.
If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.
