14 Wks 5 Days, still nauseous.. anyone try Reglan?

I'm almost 15 weeks of my third pregnancy.  I'm not as sick as I was with my first, but I wasn't sick at all with my second.  My doctor & I tried the B6/unisom combo for a few weeks and it didn't work.  Now I'm trying Reglan and Benadryl and it seems to be better but I still get very sick in the late afternoon and it lasts through supper and into the night (thank God for the Benadryl which helps me fall asleep through the nausea).  Has Reglan worked for others?  Is there something else I haven't tried that maybe I should?  I'm inclined to just wait it out, but with 2 kids ages 3 & 2, I'm already exhausted enough on a daily basis!  Help!

Re: 14 Wks 5 Days, still nauseous.. anyone try Reglan?

  • I tried Reglan for a few days and it made me feel worse. All I did was sleep and still had the nausea. I stopped it and I just take 1/2 a unisom at night and deal with it during the day. It's slowly getting better but I still have bad days. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

  • I tried Reglan in my 2nd pregnancy. Didn't care for it. Still felt sick and short of breath on top of it. Always had luck with Phenergan. Makes me tired but makes a world of difference
  • Reglan is a really great drug for people with migraines, it promotes peristalsis, which for whatever reason helps them. I don't know about it with morning sickness though, I hear a lot of people take zofran (ondansetron) for morning sickness. They have a form of the pill that will melt on your tongue too and has a minty or cherry taste so there's no gagging trying to take a pill.
  • I've tried Unisom/B6, Phenergen, Zofran and Reglan, none of which worked for me. The Reglan seemed like it might be helping, but then i ended up in the ER with an allergic reaction to it. I am 13 weeks 4 days and still very nauseous.

  • I had severe morning sickness with my DS and the only thing that help was a promethazine suppository (I know it sounds gross, but I couldn't keep the oral meds including the oral version of promethazine, Phenergen, down)
  • I was in the ER for a 5 day migraine that wouldn't quit...they gave me raglan...and I thought I was gonna die. Horrible reaction. Shaking, chest pain, shortness of breath. Hate that stuff!
  • I'm in the same boat 14w 5 days and still very nauseated , I think I've puked 4 or 5 times today . I feel like its getting worse :/ I haven't taken any meds but I'm debating . I have a follow up with my MD on Wed. Hang in there , you aren't alone !
  • My OB doctor tried 6 different meds until one finally worked. I am 13w3d and still have morning sickness. Hydroxyine is my life saver! The first day I was sleepy but when taking it on the second day I was good.

I tried Reglan and it didn't work for me. I was still throwing up constantly. Zofran is the only thing that has helped with the MS and I have to take it with Tylenol because if not it'll give me a migraine.
  • I am 13 weeks and I take Reglan everyday three times a day and pheragan gel that the only way I make it without throwing up

Sea band works for me, not immediately but took sometime to be effective... At week 8, I was throwing up >20 times a day. After wearing the sea band, I still throw up at times, but at least the frequency reduced significantly to <5 times a day. Now at week 12, just 1-2 times in the morning... No harm giving sea band a try, it's inexpensive and drug free.

My doctor gave me Diclegis. It's specifically for morning sickness and nausea. It's expensive though so they gave me samples. Does your doctor/insurance offer that? I am a nurse and give nausea meds quite often and even I had never heard of it so I am assuming it's newer. But it helped me greatly!

Looked into Diclegis a little more. Is an older drug that was brought back and approved by the FDA a couple years ago.
  • Reglan gave me involuntary facial movements and I ended up in there after three doses(before pregnancy)Scary stuff. I used b6 unison and sea bands. Sea bands work. I started taking my prenatal before bed and mine have ginger in them. I sucked on pepermints. I took promethazine with my first.
