Another name poll

I know there's a names forum, but I never lurk on other places and it feels weird to ask people on a place I never posted. Seems like most people here don't mind a good ol' fashioned poll either :) We're having a lot of trouble naming our second daughter. Just can't decide on a name. Our first one was so easy. So please, would love the input! The last name is looong and sounds German so wanted a short first name. And I'm Greek so it can't sound too foreign since i'd like my mom to be able to pronounce it easily :) TIA!! (if you have suggestions that are not in the list below please share!)

I love Amelia, and it can be shortened to Amy if she wants when she's older!

  • No wonder you're having a hard time. Not my kid, and I'm having a hard time choosing!

  • @redfallon - i know! I like all of them but i think Mia and Emma are my favorites. My hubby's cousin's daughter is an Emma so I'm debating that even though they live pretty far and we never see them.
  • I vote Amelia but probably because it's on our non existent short list.

I like Amelia best then Emma
  • I voted Amelia because I love that, and the nickname Mia goes well with it. I think all your choices compliment first DDs name though... So tough to choose!

  • I like Anna grace. I also know a Greek girl named Anna and am assuming will be very easy for the Greek tongue. I have a feeling Mia will be mispronounced a lot as well as Leia.
  • I like Anna Grace so much. It's classic and beautiful. Emma is one of the most popular names in recent years, according to a few sources I've looked in to. Not sure if that matters to you.
  • Thanks ladies for all the input!
  • I voted Mia Grace. I think it sounds so sweet :)
  • Ive never heard of leia or is it a different spelling for leah? My vote went for amelia although if i could of picked two i would of picked anna aswell x
  • @holly1811 yes pronounced a bit differently than leah, more like LAya.
  • Ah ok i get it like princess leia. Thats really nice. You have a lovely list
  • I love them all! Amelia was my vote because I think it's a little less common than the others (except Leia, which I also love) and also because I have always liked that name. Mia would be my second choice. They're all solid choices!!
  • I voted for Mia but all of them are great choices!!
  • I saw EMMA on the list.. My youngest we names Emalynn spelled just liked that and may interest you if you like EMA for short

They're all lovely names but my vote is for Amelia, if you like nicknames Lia is adorable (pronounced as Leah)

  • If baby boy had been a girl, we were thinking Amelia Grace. I LOVED it :) Amelia is a sweet sounding name that fits a child and grows well with age. It's not too common, but it's not odd either. Those were my only rules when picking names and Amelia Grace definitely fit. I think of a well mannered, sweet child when I hear it.

Ema (pronounced ee-Mah) actually means grandma in Italian. A lot of cultures actually use Ema as grandma. So with that said, Emma, is the best spelling if you are pronouncing it Em-muh.

I never knew that! My youngest it 2 now and none of her teacher ever mentioned it... It also happens to be her first middle and last initials and first three letters of first name and last three letter of last name. Unintentional at time of birth. EMAlynn Marie AttEMA

Well Emalynn I would pronounce Em-muh-lin. I'm not sure why that seems different but the name Ema alone definitely sounds like Eee-mah.
