Tiny babies bellies aren't meant to digest cereal. I know a lot of people do it but unless they have reflux, I wish people would do more research about it. 3 months is waaay too young for that.
Especially when most of the 3rd month is a giant cluster feed.
Lord it felt to me the first 3 months were a giant cluster feed!
I turned my son to forward facing at 13 months and I have no regrets. He was a terrible car seat baby and would scream non-stop while rear facing. Turning him around was the magic needed. I'm sure I'll get some flames for this but I think at a certain point all safety regulations are a bit extreme. I'm also the mommy who started giving my baby cereal at 4 months and OMG the difference! He's a healthy happy 25 month old now.
@britsknits11 how on earth did you manage to have a 35lb 13 month old? Wowza! My twins are in the 90th percentile at 2yrs and 32lbs.
LOL my daughter will be 3 in November and is 24 lbs. My son is 5 and 35 lbs. They are peanuts!
I have another confession. I LOVE snarky comments. I lurk on other bmb's just to find the drama posts. It's like an addiction. I usually don't comment myself but I totally love tit a ton!

I agree. We did cereal early with the first bc "thats what you were suppose to do" so we put it in his formula bottles. The more it came out that its really not needed, has no nutritional value and isn't easily digested we never did with the second. He nursed a lot but thats what breasted babies do and it helps with the milk supply. I never minded.
MIL told me she was feeding DH cereal off a spoon at 2 weeks. Yeah, sure, ok? She was super judgey that I waited until 6 months. She also said he walked at 7 months and that breastfeeding would make my kids malnourished. Basically, I wanted to TP her the entire first year of my kids life.
@g8trkim So tiny!! I never get to carry my son anywhere because he just gets so heavy so fast. Sometimes I wish he was a peanut. I have two girlfriends who both had boys. One is 9 months older than my son and one is 6 months older. Both are at least 5lbs lighter than him lol.

It's really nice for carrying and they also take forever to grow out of clothes. The only thing is, my son realizes he's small. I feel kind of bad. I don't want him to feel self conscious. It doesn't seem to be such a big deal for girls.

I have been a huge nail-biter my entire life. All of a sudden, I'm not biting. I think the prenatal vitamins are making my nails stronger and less brittle so I haven't wanted to bite them. My nails are still pretty short, but they're longer today than they were on my wedding day (I tried hard not to bite them before the wedding, but was not super successful). Maybe I can finally "kick the habit"!
@pbtoast and @g8trkim I hate how "gender obsessed" people are when it comes to babies. I am tempted to find out the sex but not share it publicly because I refuse to dress a baby girl in hot pink tutus and giant obnoxious hair bows, and I don't think baby boys need to exclusively wear clothes with trucks or dinosaurs. Babies are babies. In the Victorian era, all babies wore frilly dresses. I find the obsession with indicating to the world a baby's sex from day one to be more than a little weird.

I was always always a nail biter, until I tried Jamberry a month or two ago. Now I never bite. Good luck keeping it up! It's SUCH a hard habit to break.
I am a huge car seat safety/extended rear facing advocate... mainly just to make sure mamas are educated on it and they can make their own decisions. You know, the norm. However, my 21 month old is still rear facing and I am contemplating turning him around before I originally planned too (Between Oct-Jan originally) Mainly because he has gotten so fussy during car rides, its actually very consistent and aggravating and I wonder if turning him around will help. Also, we are leaving for the beach next Monday 7/27 and its an 8 hour drive. I selfishly want to turn him around for that so he can see everyone and the DVD player. Tell me Im bad ">
My cousin put her first child FF at 8 months. I nearly had a heart attack. It also makes me cringe when I see people with young children in the front passenger seat. Ugh.
I am the crazy facebook poster of carseat safety. My girlfriend switched to a convertible when her daughter was 4 months old and made the convertible forward facing. She then posted pictures on FB with the caption "look how big she's getting", I freaked out and immediately started tagging her in all of my carseat safety links. She got pissed, didn't listen to me at all, and proceeded to get in 3 car accidents (no baby in the car), and is still using the same seat.... Needless to say we don't talk anymore.
DS is almost 20 months and I will be keeping him rear facing until he has maxed out the weight limit and has to be moved forward facing.

Yes. My second FFFC as you stated above (am I allowed two?): those BIG bow/headband/flower deals that I keep seeing people put on their baby girls? NO. Just no. Same goes for tutus.
I get annoyed at other mothers who look down their nose at me while I have a very occasional, very small glass of red wine while I'm pregnant. All the while those women are guzzling down diet cokes every day. I don't judge you for ingesting a liquid that can clean battery acid off your car battery. Don't judge me for my little glass of wine that I might have maybe every other month. =;
I am all for taking whatever medication is going to help me feel more comfortable during pregnancy. I'm not sure if this is more appropriate for an UO day, but if my doctor says its okay and it's going to make me feel better, I'm going to take it. I certainly admire those women who can suffer through the symptoms for all 9 months, but it just isn't me. I'd like to not have to take anything, but I also really prefer not to feel miserable throughout all 9 months.
Part of me thinks I should just be grateful for every symptom and stop complaining, but I've happily been taking Diclegis since week 5 because of nausea/vomiting and am about to start taking Zantac because Tums just aren't working anymore. I'll usually deal with headaches as they come because mine don't last that long.....but I'll do whatever my doctor recommends to avoid the all-day yucky feeling.
@pbtoast YES!!! Like "look world, my infant is a girl!! I don't care if she's uncomfortable, I must publicly demonstrate her femininity!"
I mean I dress my daughter in pink and bows because I like the way it looks. Not because I want people to know she's a girl. I wouldn't call that gender obsessed, just a style preference.

I totally agree. I never really understand it when people describe horrible symptoms and say stuff like, "My doc said I can take ___ but I'm really trying to avoid meds." If your doctor says you can take it and it makes you less miserable, what's the point of suffering needlessly?

And that's totally fine! I'm more talking about things that are obviously not comfortable for the baby. But to each her own! I probably won't dress my kid in all gender neutral clothes, but I hate when babies don't look like babies anymore, you know?

Precisely. See also: headbands with flowers as large as child's head.

@LMMama, I'm definitely not opposed to pink or bows or whatever for little girls, or blue stuff for boys! Just the over-the-top stuff. I like some gender-neutral baby clothes in solids and stripes and stuff, but I really just can't stand the over-the-top stuff. Totally a personal preference, I just feel like I see so many of those large bows/headbands on newborns and I personally don't get it!
I actually had 2 or 3 drinks towards the end of my pregnancy last time - they were those little mini bottles of wine from a local grocery store. It was only one drink per sitting but I had at least 2, maybe 3 total in my 3rd tri. last time. My son is 100% healthy and was 2 days overdue.
Probably going to be totally judged for that - but I think moderation is key, really.
Totally not judging. I have about a half or quarter glass of wine once a week or so with a nice dinner. My doc says it's absolutely fine. When I was in Maui last week I had a glass of sangria (half juice, half white wine). It was delicious.
My FFFC: I'm almost 30 and I'm completely obsessed with shows that are marketed to teenagers. I straight up watch ABC Family and CW. I love dramatic shows...

Um, yeah I cant. Now If I was to ever have a daughter we will totally rock some bows (normal size, not super sized) and a tutu (bc I could never rock one) but a padget girl, nope. Over my dead body.

ha, yes! I'm planning on snuggling in bed as soon as I get home to watch this week's episode on my DVR..

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm close to 31 and I watch more shows on the CW than any other network. Hell, I've gone to a Supernatural con twice and want to go again.
I devoured Chick-Fil-A nuggets and fries for lunch.
AHH! Why!? we dont have a chick fil a close to me and Im obsessed. Anytime we go somewhere where there is one I have to stop!
I eat fast food maybe once every 2-3 months, at most. I have been craving some nuggets with Polynesian sauce so I gave in. I'm making up for it by eating baby carrots. I'm still sipping on my Dr. Pepper though, they have the best "draft" Dr. Pepper, I think it's the Styrofoam cups.

I agree that if there is an approved medication for you to make you be able to function or get better.... Take it!!! I feel this way about people who say how much pain labor was, and continue to complain but didn't get an epidural. It's there to help you.
If you want to go med free do it, but don't complain about it later or tell other people they are less of a parent because of it.
I think flower headbands are cute and so are tutus. There's nothing wrong with dressing your girl like a girl... Maybe just not flowers bigger than their head or A ridiculous tutu everyday! Pic and link to ones that are super cute and not over the top

Totally okay, lol. I'm obsessed too, as is my mom (and she's 57).

My FFFC: I'm tired of unsolicited pregnancy advice from my mommy friends. I'm a FTM, yes, but I didn't ask for your help. Plus, it's mostly disparaging remarks disguised as advice. "Doesn't matter if you watch your weight or not, you'll feel and look like a whale, and your body will never be the same." I wasn't born under a rock. I realize my body may undergo some lasting changes.
