(just 4 fun) How did you and your SO meet?

My story is not very exciting as I'm hoping some of yours are. My boyfriend actually tried to hit on me on Facebook about a year before I gave him a shot. I completely ignored his message and never looked back. About a year later he was being a creep on Instagram and attempted following me. I accepted and followed back (because the damn pics are so small I couldn't tell if I knew him). We had a bunch of mutual friends so I just kept him there. Noticed a private message from him about a week later, asking if I'd like to go out sometime. I declined and (lied) and said I was seeing someone. His name was Gym, as I was more interested in working out than dating at that point. Eventually my gf told me I needed a life outside of the gym and talked me into writing him back. So I sent him my number and left it alone. I later noticed he deleted me cuz he got rejected, haha. Then ended up getting a text message from him about a week after that. Had lunch and everything changed for us both from that very first meeting.

I'm a sucker for a cute or funny story (as mine really isn't either), so spill the beans ladies. How did your SO sweep you off your feet?

I met my husband online through msn back in the day. I was scouring profiles and found his and saw that he had studied design too so I messaged him. We talked for a bit then met. Turns out we went to the same school. One of his friends had dated my sister and I had dated one of his friends. I live on a small island so it's pretty common to know everybody! At first I wasn't sure I wanted to date him, he wasn't quite my type but he was so friggin loveable that we quickly fell in love and got engaged 3 months or so after we started dating. Our 11 year anniversary is coming up in August so I think we are doing pretty well together!

We met my first day in college five years ago...we were in class together both new to the city, the professor asked us to send emails to each other to see if the class massager was working. He sent me a message saying i think your interesting and can't wait to get to know me. After class four of us decided since we are all new to the city we were going to walk and explore ended up walking to from one side of Atlanta to the other. Anyways on our way back home on the train as i was getting off i turned and asked him "aren't you going to ask me for my number or not" wasn't being cocky or anything but i was curious because i thought we were vibing. So we exchanged numbers and the rest was history we were inseparable ever since

Well me and DH went to high school he was a year ahead. We didn't know each in high school at all. We had some of the same mutual friends oddly enough. Well fast forward 6 years I became friends with a girl at a tattoo convention that I was working for a tattoo magazine. Well we became good friends. Her BF was a tattoo artist and knew a guy that did work for the shop (painting,tile you name it). They wanted to match us up. He happened to be tattooing him later that month so he invited us both for dinner at there place. We hit it off quick and now we are on our 3rd kid.

That's really cute.

I met my DH when I joined the fire department. I thought he was a totally hot older man (13 years older)!but that was about it, I also had a boyfriend who later became my first husband. My DH was also married so I thought of him more of a fantasy. As a joke I once told someone he would be the one I would cheat on my husband with. (I didn't btw). Well my first marriage lasted a whopping year and a half before I divorced him. DH also ended up going through a divorce the same time I was and we became instant best friends, had a few benefits in there and ended up falling head over heals in love with each other. Totally unexpected! It was supposed to be a "no strings attached deal". We have been together for 10 years now and have had our bumps in the road but are better than ever and I can't wait to grow old with him! Not sure why but I never saw myself growing old with my first husband, didn't ever think I would divorce either though. We both never dated anyone else after our divorces and never regret a minute if it.

My fiancé had a class with me (we were in high school) and he was sitting alone and I was the outgoing type and tried to talk to him. He basically blew me off then started skipping class after that and I didn't see him again til the following year when I skipped my study hall and went to lunch instead which so happened to be his lunch. He asked me out for months before I finally said yes lol

I was kind of hanging out with this guy, Kevin, who was a manager at a bar. 23 year old me LOVED that. Things were pretty off and on, it was nothing serious. Well one night we happened to be "off" so I went to the bar he worked at with every intention on making him jealous. I was sitting at the table with 2 of my girlfriends when 2 guys came over with shots. We all started hanging out and having a good time and every time I looked over Kevin was fuming mad. My plan was working but I needed to take it a step further. I ended up giving one of the guys, Alex, my number. I had no intentions whatsoever on ever talking to him again, I just wanted to make the other guy jealous...

Super long story short-- Alex and I will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary in December

My husband and I were high school aquintences. After he graduated he was my EMT during a serious wreck. Then several years later he was the first responder when my father had a heart attack. My dad didn't make it and my husband met up with me months later to make me talk about it. Well the rest is pretty much history from there.

As teenagers, at an arcade. LOL nerds.

We were both into Dance Dance Revolution (that dancing game you play with your feet). I went to a local tournament with this guy I was sorta-kinda interested in dating, but not sure, and there was this super tall guy who kept repeating everything the organizer said SUPER loud so the back of the crowd could hear. I remember thinking, geez, what a loud mouth! About a month later, when the thing with the sorta-kinda guy hadn't worked out, I was waiting to meet friends at the mall and decided to play a little while I waited, but super tall loud mouth was using the machine so I waited behind him. He finished his game, asked me what I was doing at the mall that night (apparently he had a crush on me since the tournament), and we got so wrapped up in talking that the whole night flew by. He asked me out a month later. Aaaaand that was 11 and a half years ago! Whee!

My SO was living as a roommate with my sister and her bf when I met him. I was engaged and just thought of him as the hot guy in the basement. My whole family wanted me to date him as they did not like my fiance. Long story short, my fiance was a total jerk, and he finally gave me the courage to kick him to the curb. My sister immediately gave SO my number. Neither of us wanted a relationship since we had both just gotten out of one. He came over to hang out, and I decided I would stay in my sweats, no makeup and eating a huge Aldi pizza because, what the hell. I don't want to date. And even if I did, if he can't handle all this, it's not meant to be lol. Yea. 2.5 years later, and we're stupid in love and having a blast and our first baby boy.

Unfortunately it wasn't Millionaire Matchmaker, but a series called The Love Broker that lasted all of a season.

I was an associate producer who took down story notes, took care of talent, and even did a little makeup when they were shiny.

I took a liking to Quinn because he told jokes no one understood. I had a boyfriend at the time but we were long distance so I didn't have anyone to really hang out with. I exchanged numbers with him since he lived in my neighborhood and we kicked it as friends until my bf and I broke up.

It's a silly story but definitely a fun one. Guess he found love after all.

My husband and I have been together since middle school.. My only guy best friend introduced us and I wasn't sure if I liked him so i kept my distance but then in 8th grade we had every class together and he purposely sat next to me.. Once we started to be paired up all the time we just grew together and then when he asked I said yes and we have been together ever since.. We got married the day I graduated high school.. We went straight from the high school to JOP and got married.. Nothing really fancy or special..

We worked at Trader Joe's together when I was just out of college. I overheard him talking to our manager about how much he liked Battlestar Gallactica. I didn't have a lot of local friends at the time, so I invited him to come over and watch the show with me and my roommate because I thought he'd be a cool friend. As the urban legend goes, we started the night at opposite ends of the couch, and ended it right next to each other. My meddling roommate invited him to come out to dinner with us the next night, and we just ended up hitting it off.

8.5 years later (5 married), two dogs (named after sci fi characters, of course) we're still big geeks in love

I'm loving these stories! We went to school together from grade 7 on but didn't really know each other until grade 9. He started sending me notes through the blinds in math class and we were always flirty but had some bad timing. We stayed good friends and officially started dating in grade 12. We've been together over 10 years now, we got married in 2013, and he's my best friend!

My husband and I met at a wedding! I was friends with the bride and he was the groom's coworker. The wedding ended earlier than we had anticipated (it was at an art gallery and I guess no one has thought it wouldn't go late!). I heard his group of friends were going out after so we exchanged numbers and my friends and I ended up meeting up with them. We hit it off and went out on a date about 2 weeks later. Couldn't wait to see him again after that

There were other coworkers there so it started getting around his office that he was dating "Bridesmaid Mary". He would introduce me at parties and people would go "Oh you're Bridesmaid Mary!". Luckily that title got dropped once people figured out I wasn't going anywhere

We will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in September!

H and I met when the band he plays with was touring through my town. I had been listening to their music for a while and was super excited that they were finally coming to my town. My girlfriend and I went to the show and after the show ended she managed to get their attention and call them over. She said she wanted to take my picture with them. Then she yelled "oh and she's single!". I almost died until the lead singer pushed H forward and said "so is he". We hung out that night and had a long distance relationship until they toured through my town again and he proposed to me on stage. He had written me a song and I got called on stage as the "encore". It was pretty amazing!
I think little man wants to be a rock star like his dad...he starts bouncing around any time music is playing!

I was 15 DH was 17 lived in the same neighborhood he was shy and would never speak to me but would whistle everything he saw on his window I would turn around and he would hide .. Annoying at the time but wow he is my gentle giant (his 6'4")..That summer he was moving away he courage up and spoke to me and ask for a hug. We became pen pals we left in love, but the adults in our lives made it very hard and poisoned our minds. We eventually broke up.. He married 2x I married 1x at first we kept in touch but it was hard we lived each other I got fed up and blocked all social media, phone number for 7 years.. One day he found me and the rest is history 2 babies and he has accepted my son and loves him.. I love this man

DH and I met in a high school summer program the summer before 9th grade. He liked me then but I didnt. We finally started dating 11th grade and had some rough patches during college (we went to different schools 5 hours away). After graduation he moved back home and we got back together for good. Been married almost 6 years and this is our first child (besides our puppy). I've been with him almost half my life and fall in love with him more with every milestone .

My mom was 18 and DH's mom was 16 when they went to high school together and got pregnant 3 months apart...DH was born in January and me in March and our moms continued to be friends and hang out until we went to elementary school. There are pictures of us as babies together! Our moms didn't have any contact again and neither did we until 15 years later (he messaged me one night that he was staying in a hotel with his best friend, drunk, and tried to get me to stay with him that night?!) at the end of our senior year! We started dating and 3 months later he proposed. Here we are 4 years later and cooking baby #3

My husband and I went to high school together. Sophomore year we had a science class together. I was the quiet nerdy one and he was the popular goofy one. He would copy my homework all the time. After sophomore year we didn't have any other classes or lunches together. I would see him in the halls every now and then but he didn't give me the time of day. 2 years after graduation a co worker of mine asked me to the bar for her boyfriends friends bday so I decided I would go. Spotted Sean (my husband) and waved but we didn't talk or anything. About a week later my friend calls me from her bathroom at home saying Sean brought a girl over to their get together and that she doesn't like her, she was a snob. I had her give me Sean's number so I text him telling him who I was and if he wanted to go see a movie (never thought he would say yes) and he said yes! Went to the movies a couple days later, he thought I died after sophomore year since he didn't see me after then, he had a daughter from a previous relationship (right out of high school) and the rest is history. Been together 7 years, married 3 years this month!

My husband and I met in high school. We were friendly acquaintances who ran in the same circles. Apparently, he had a crush on me back then but I was oblivious and enamored with my then-boyfriend, with whom I was off-and-on for about five years. We stayed in touch here and there online, and ended up reconnecting when I started hanging out with his roommate (also a high school friend) after the ex and I broke up for good. Being as we were then both single, we hit it off and decided to give it a shot. Roommate did not take it well, and neither one of us are friends with him anymore (he was a very manipulative/toxic individual, so no big loss there).

DH worked with my sisters boyfriend at the time and I had met him a couple of times at restaurants and bars when we would all go out but I never paid much attention to him lol. On my sisters birthday in 2012 we all went to his apartment after bar hopping all night and I stayed up drinking with him after everyone else left/passed out. He asked me out on a date a few days later... We've been together since then and married for 1 year. Sooo romantic.

My hubby and I meet at a night club in 2010, I was there with my cousin and my hubby was in the table next to us with his friends. I kept my eye on him and after 2 drinks I was brave enough to ask him to dance. He was like "sure but I cant dance " I told him "me neither, we'll learn together" we ended up dancing all night, and been together ever since. In Aug will be celebrating a 2 yr wedding anniversary and we are expecting our 1st baby.

My husband and I met when we were 12 years old in middle school. We had class right across from each other one period and one day we both got sent to the hallway. He got in trouble and I was asked to make up an exam. We started talking and the rest is history. We dated all high school, went to college together, moved in together after college and got married about three years later. So we have technically been a couple for 14 years now. Now we are getting ready to welcome our first child together. Very exciting!! I love all your stories.

At the time I had recently gotten out of a 5 year relationship. My SO added me on Facebook because of a similar interest (he noticed I played WoW). I questioned him adding me and that became a very long and interesting conversation. We wound up meeting and going to dinner and a movie. We have been inseparable since. I moved in pretty quickly. It's now 4 years later and due with our first child 11/11 and couldn't be happier! Turned out he knew my uncle and had worked with him years ago. My uncle is now married to a girl that was his cousin by marriage but no longer is. I find all that pretty crazy. It's like we were bound to meet no matter what.

We met at work. We both work for a major communications company - I'm in corporate wellness, and he's a technical support trainer. I was doing a presentation, and he walked up and introduced himself. He was wearing a ring, so I didn't think much of it - it wasn't like he was hitting on me in any way... But he was super nice and charismatic, and I remember thinking, "Wow, that guy's got a really lucky wife." Fast forward six months, and her comes in to my work area (fitness center) and asks me to keep him alive - he had had a heart attack 5 years earlier and was going through a stressful divorce. I started working him out, and we eventually started hanging out platonically. We started dating in December of '11, got engaged in Dec '12, and got married in Sept '13. And here we are!
