The beach...I don't get the appeal sand that gets into everything the ocean water full of sharks and jelly fish. Every time I see someone in the ocean I cringe it's like taking a bath in a tub full of crap water. Eww. :-& :-& I know I'm in the minority but I'd much rather go anywhere but the beach.
I prefer the ocean to lakes. Lakes skeeve me out...so much bacteria/algae..and dead bodies. Yuck
I'll stick to my pool where I know the only creatures in it are human and dog, and the occasional creepy spider or insect but then I make hubby remove them.

My UO: I think home births are unnecessarily risky
I couldn't agree more, especially for me. People are telling me I should have an all natural home birth or water birth. I want to slap them! Sounds bad, but I'm a type 1 diabetic and I have other health issues. I'm being induced for a reason which is that's what's best for me and my child. Period. I have to take insulin everyday just to stay alive so telling me to have an all natural med free birth is wshing me death. I'm very hormonal today.
Another UO for me is I am not breast feeding. I had PP depression with my DD so I will be on meds right after birth. People still want me to breastfeed and or pump. Nope! Not happening! my milk came in 8 days late with my DD an I didn't have let down or any of that. Just nope.

My opinion when someone tries to tell me what I need to do. I think BF or FF is a very personal decision and you have to do what is best for you. You don't know me or my situation, don't stick your nose in where it doesn't belong..

There are dead bodies in the ocean too, probably more than lakes and rivers..... They just aren't found as frequently because of the size and depth
I thought of that after I replied. I never go in the water anyway, but maybe just because we have a lot of lakes by us where every summer they're pulling a body out of it I'm more comfortable with the ocean?
Uo: I think the breast feeding vs formula feeding debate is annoying. I think hearing or reading opinions on why people choose either and their choice is better is super annoying.
Just feed your dang kid, leave everyone else alone, and shut it.

I'm very pro breastfeeding but I also say a fed kid is best. My first was FF and my second was BF. I will certainly BF this baby too but I understand things happen and people have their own preferences. I do get fairly passionate about breastfeeding, however again, a fed well taken care of kid is best.

I liked that diaper commercial where they had the different "mom cliques"..we may go about it different ways, but we all have the common goal, well cared for babes.

I completely agree. I FF my first and BF the other two. Guess what? They are all awesome. I also had one vaginal and the other two c-section. Again, all my kids are awesome. Mommy debates irritate me like no other. We should just support each other and call it a day.

My UO is that I don't get why we say DH, DS, DD, etc. I don't call my husband "dear" and I wouldn't call my kids "dear" either. Why can't we just say "my H?" When I see "DH" I say in my head "Dear H" and it's stupid.

Haha, I always that this was dumb too. I have seen quite a few people (back in the old TB days) who just say H but I don't see it much anymore.

My anniversary board just says H. We actually had a discussion about it and all agreed it was stupid and from then on, all Ds were dropped.

I agree! I haven't been able to use that at all. I just write "husband" because I have healthy fingers and the other way is just a bit cutesy for me.
Margaritas are not tasty. I have no idea why people think they taste good.
I never trust people being nicer than usual once I find out they sell Plexus, Mary Kay, Younique, those stupid crappy wraps, etc. Also, most of the weight loss sellers are still fat and the Mary Kay people don't even know how to apply their own makeup correctly. So over it.
Also, if you smell like smoke, I'm judging you. Nasty.
This stupid Blog!! When I type from my phone it always cuts some part of what I try to type off! I meant to put, I actually made the cake because my fatA wanted some hahah!

I love just about any margarita except for lime! I just can't do it, too sour, and heartburn instantly! My favorite is a Rasberry margarita!

I'm such a control freak, I have to make margaritas myself or else I hate them. I hate mixes, has to be from scratch. I juice the limes and all. I also hate the slushy ones.

I could not possibly care less when people misuse gender vs. sex, and I roll my eyes every time the TB frontline jumps to correct that shit. WFC
Really? Sex and gender aren't the same thing. If someone doesn't realize that and they misuse them accidentally, then perhaps people on TB jumping to correct it will teach them something and they'll go about their lives a little less ignorant than they were before. If they do know there's a difference and they continue to purposefully conflate the two, then they deserve any flaming they may receive. Not acknowledging that sex and gender are different alienates and marginalizes an already maltreated population. You're really okay with encouraging that? Know better, do better. This is how society moves forward- we acknowledge our differences, we educate ourselves, and we recognize that just because a problem doesn't affect us personally doesn't mean that it's acceptable to ignore it or minimize it.
I don't really enjoy watching movies. I've seen almost none that have come out in the last 5 years (we go to the movies maybe twice a year) and I don't really like watching them at home, either. I'm much more into TV shows.
...but I do want to see Trainwreck.
Just saw it! Amy schumer is hilarious and Bill Hader is awesome! It was fun and entertaining... And I also am not a huge movie fan.
I hate when people pronounce croissants as cwoissants. I get that it's the French pronunciation, but you're in a Philly Dunkin Donuts, not in Paris, and you sound like you have a speech impediment.
Gah! I hate that!!!! I used to manage a coffee shop and I heard it all the time. Makes me cringe lol
I'm the opposite. It is like fingers down a chalkboard when people misprounounce common foreign words, or worse, Americanize them. I feel like if you are that ignorant, you don't deserve yummy foreign food. Take 2 seconds and learn how to pronounce the food you want to eat. I want to yell out like Seinfeld's soup nazi, "No croissant for you! Dumbass." It seems like the worst one is Gyros. And with croissants, I have a BA in French, you bet your bippy I'm going to pronounce it properly.

I hope that's not weird. I'm a woman Pastor and I officiate weddings all the time. I have done weddings where one of the couple was Atheist or Agnostic. I try to make the vows as respectful of everyone's beliefs as I can, but I do remind them that I am a Pastor, and they chose to have their wedding in a church, so there will be a little God stuff in there. But all my Atheists have been happy with what I did. It's all good...
And lots of people don't baptize babies. from a clergyperson's POV, I'd prefer you not do it if that isn't where you are at. A baptism is not one more thing on the baby checklist to get done. In churches that practice infant baptism, the parents (rather than taking baptism vows for the baby like some people think) vow to model Christian living for the child and to raise the child in the church. Its not cool to take vows you don't intend to keep. Also baptism is not a salvation thing like a lot of people think. FWIW.

I'm going to have to agree with Potatocastillo here; I roll my eyes every time I witness the comments of these social justice warriors. As a scientist I feel fairly confident in asserting that I am neither uneducated nor uncultured, simply, until you can show me evidence that these individuals are hardwired in a manner more akin to the sex opposite their birth designation I will view this as a psychological phenomenon our culture is perpetuating.
Of course, my opinion will fall on deaf ears since the majority of American women attempt to play ostrich when it comes to data that points to innate biological difference in the sexes beyond reproductive organs.
I might be in the stone ages or something but I see all the cute baby bump (bloat) pictures and hate them a little bit. How on earth do you get a cute watermark on your pictures that says "9 weeks"? Like seriously I've googled it and still feel dumb. (Seriously any hints would be awesome!!!)
I feel like the silent grammar police. I bite my tongue every time someone says "your" instead of "you're", " its" instead of "it's", and don't get me started on there, they're, or their. Seriously, people, did you pass 8th grade?
I also think people who judge home birth as unnecessarily risky are just ignorant. You can't birth at home (unless it's an accident) if you're high risk. If you're not high risk then birth doesn't need to be a medical procedure. It's a natural part of being a woman and our bodies do it spectacularly.
My UO is that I don't get why we say DH, DS, DD, etc. I don't call my husband "dear" and I wouldn't call my kids "dear" either. Why can't we just say "my H?" When I see "DH" I say in my head "Dear H" and it's stupid.

LMAO! THIS!! I hate the abbreviations. Husband, daughter, & son are not hard words to type out, ya'll! When I was still trying and charting, I was on a message board that called having sex BD, which stood for Baby Dance. WTF? Definitely not what gets me going.

<Lurker here who can't let this stand> So since we haven't found any evidence that people who identify as homosexuals are "hardwired" differently, does that make them a psychological phenomenon? If you were truly a scientist, you would know that our understanding of the human brain and human behavior is just barely scratching the surface. Oh and all that data that points to innate biological differences between the sexes are small things like the fact that men generally tend to navigate via a maps in their heads versus women remembering the paths they've taken before. You know what's a better predictor in personality differences in people? Literally any other thing. The reason there isn't a whole lot of research to back up your weird statement is that it's so difficult to find controls, studies that have been done have been largely inconclusive, and also no one really cares because research $ goes into important causes like studying things that could actually help people. In any case, I have no idea how your point about differences between sexes backs up the idea that transgender people are just a "psychological phenomenon". Just because you consider yourself a scientist does not mean that your points of view are not offensive or hurtful to others. History will eventually prove you are in the wrong.
