I know babies have survived for how many thousands of years without these "rules" and standards, and I'm sure when we are parents or grandparents we'll say "can you believe we did xyz?!" Lol. I was very overwhelmed the first few weeks and second guessing myself constantly because I was trying to follow all these guidelines. What I've learned most is to trust your gut as a mother. If that means washing off a dirty pacifier with hot water or sanitizing it every day, you do what you feel is best!!
That's scarey! I've never heard that. The hospital I work at just warns against foreign, non-organic materials entering the lungs. Definately something to look into. Thanks for sharing this!
I'd rather be more crazy protective now while they are so vulnerable. Once LO gets a little older I fully expect her to play in the dirt and roughhouse with other kids.
