I'm due early October and we get the step daughter this year who is 6. I found on Pinterest a basic white sleeper that they painted a ghost face on. So I ordered a white sleeper with a little white hat to make her into a ghost. We will spend the evening at my mom's who lives in a huge Halloween neighborhood. I'll stay at the house with baby and let husband and step daughter and grandma go trick or treating. Baby at least needs outfit for photos
I got a pumpkin sleeper with a hood, but my best idea is this: my husband owns a few subway restaurants so we were going to dress up like sandwich artists and get a swaddle wrap that looks like a wrapped up sub for the baby we probably won't be going anywhere either but I think it would be fun just for a photo even!
I manage a subway and freaking love this idea!! That would be so cute!
Due October 20th, so hoping she will be here before then. My mom found the cutest (brand new, score!) Onesie with little girl spiders all over it. Sounds a little ugly describing it like that, but it really is adorable! We may take her to grandparents for pictures of her first halloween, but I doubt we really will. It's usually too cold here in MN by then, especially for a super new newborn.
Halloween is my due date so wondering if I should wear a costume to the hospital, LOL! I bought the attached for baby boy's going home outfit which will work as a costume too
We have 2 other kids that will be going trick or treating. Since I will be walking around with them & have a newborn in a carrier, I think I've opted in buying a baby's 1st Halloween onesie & a cute pumpkin beanie on etsy. A costume is too much with walking around and how little he'll be
My DD's will be 11 & 12 and last year we decided that this year they could walk alone in the neighbhood with a group of friends which works out perfect for us to hang out at home with the baby in a cute Onies outfit. I know however that once we go shopping for costumes for the girls they will defiently pick out something for the baby .
I got my first choice with her name so DH got to pick Halloween costumes... we will be Darth Vadar, Lea, and baby Ewok. Yes, my daughter will be an Ewok. Thanks, DH.
i agree yes the temp and how i feel and how baby is doing will most def be a HUGE factor on what goes on but w.e the case is DS will go out and i think we will be dressing up even if it is just to pick up DS from school!
I'm due oct 28 so most likely will not be doing any dressing up. We do have a onesie that says "I'm so cute it's scary" and a sleeper with bats and vampire feet (pretty random) from dd1.
I'm already bummed about not going trick or treating with my kids. Our town shuts down the town centre to cars and all the businesses hand out candy, theres a dj and fire trucks and the whole town turns out. It's super fun, but dh will take them.
If this lo does come early enough, I'm totally swaddling her, putting her in a basket with this note (but I won't leave her on the porch)
I'm due oct. 7th, I'm definitely dressing up little baby since it will technically be her first Halloween. We will probably just take her to a local evenT we have at our zoo for smaller kids and babies that is in the day time, or something where she can stay in her stroller most of the time. I don't want her out at night in case it gets too cold.
I'm due Oct 11th and generally go right around my due date. The older kids will defiantly be going out, it might just be with DH or the baby and I may go with them. Either way the weather is still pretty nice on Halloween in Texas so I might just sit on the porch with baby and pass out candy. I have been looking at all the cute costumes, but we are team green and I know myself, if I buy a gender neutral costume I may decide after the baby is born that we need something else. Hopefully I can find something cute to have shipped to the house.
@Krysta6 I'm going to do a 0-3m onesie. I'm anticipating a big baby as big babies run in both our families. If we end up need NB sized clothes and have none, DH will just have to go shopping without me.
I'm due October 30th, so I am hoping she is here by Halloween (maybe she'll come ON halloween!)! The plan is to bring her home from the hospital in a 'costume' (most likely a Halloween looking onsie, ha ha). I love Halloween. If she is here by Halloween, I'll dress her up that day too, but just for me and my husband. Get some cute pics of her first Halloween, but nothing crazy.
Me too! I'm actually not due til Nov 2nd, but would love a Halloween Baby! I want to dress my son up like Batman :-)
We have 4 other littles and being due Oct 29 aren't sure what is going to happen yet lol. We're anticipating me delivering a few days early going by my past history but depending on when he makes his arrival I may stay home with him while SO takes the other TOT'ing or we may put him in a carried or stroller and bring him. The weather will play a huge factor as well
LO is due Oct 30 so we'll probably opt out on Halloween this year . i was going to look to see if i could find some type of cute little costume or onesie to put on her though .
I plan to dress her up just for fun but she'll be staying home with me handing out candy while DH takes our boys out trick or treating. Not sure what costume yet
Baby is due Oct. 3rd so I will definitely be dressing him or her up. Since we are team green it makes it a little harder to figure out a costume but I have found many cute ideas on etsy. I just have to finally decide on one
I'm due 10/7, so he'll definitely be here by then. We'll be trick or treating in the neighborhood with DS, who will be 2.5 then. DH wants to be people from the walking dead lol. Somehow I doubt that will come to fruition. They're too fun at this age to dress up cute!
My MIL has a lamb costume in newborn size she wants me to dress DD up in. I will put her in a costume and take a pic, and maybe she'll go with DS to trick-or-treat at the mall. Not sure . . . She'll be 3-4 weeks old or so depending on when she arrives (due 10/6).
Maybe we'll be able to arrange to go visit the ILs so THEY can take DS trick-or-treating in their neighborhood.
Found a "my first halloween" bib awhile ago clearance shopping, but with a 10/7 EDD I'll have plenty of time to order a costume. Probably can count on some halloween/fall themed baby pics so might get an outfit for that, but would be kinda worried about it still fitting by halloween if he's big.
Probably end up taking him to Nana and Papa's to show off, and steal some candy for us :P Then of course we'll have to check clearance the next day or so for more candy and maybe a costume for next year or older depending on what we find.
I'm due the 22nd, so I won't want to be out walking around. It always takes me a solid two weeks to be able to stand for any length of time without feeling like my pelvic floor will touch the ground. I went to the grocery store when dd2 was one week old because I needed to get out of the house (she was home with my mom) and I literally sat down in the middle of an aisle and cried because I was so uncomfortable, haha.
Anyway, I have a little Halloween outfit for him and a pumpkin hat that he can wear at home on Halloween. DH or my mom will have to take the girls trick or treating because I physically won't be ready.
I don't think I'll be doing much this Halloween. Stay home and pass out candy put him in a cute Halloween onesie. My husband will definitely take our daughter trick or treating . I can't deprive her of that. She's already planning costumes. Next year , we're going all out and doing superhero theme costumes! yay ,for our little October pumpkin babies! \:D/
I told my SO i would probably skip trick or treating this year and you'd have thought i confessed to murder. So i told him if we can drive the van around and take turns wearing the baby, and of course as long as labor is like my typical experience I'd do it.
My 4yo wants everybody to be equestria girls, which means i need to start looking now. Hopefully the 10 yo will play along because it could be cute. I'm going to be in all black and probably face paint.
If baby is here by Halloween, my husband and I will be dressing up as Carl & Ellie (from Up) and baby will be a balloon (solid colored onesie, solid colored hat, easy peasy!) My husband looks so much like young Carl (same glasses and everything) so it fits perfectly!
Um, yes he's dressing up! Not sure what yet, waiting to see if I get any stuff from shower, because I have a few freaky friends that would get costumes lol. Otherwise, something Disney for sure. Depends on the weather if I take him out. Last year it rained here. Kids and I went to maybe 4 houses on our street before it totally poured. Sooooo, we will see.
I'm waiting for Old Navy to put their Halloween outfits online! Over the years (I'm a FTM) I was always sucked into looking at the ON baby costumes and feeling excited about having babies someday. Being dye in October is perfect and I think (as early as they start selling them) ON posting those costumes is going to be a sign it even closer!. Ours will come October 13 at the latest, but with no other children we'll stay home. I'm hoping they are sleepy/behaved enough we can put them in costumes and hand out candy while allowing neighbors we know in for a peek :-) So exciting!!
It is usually cold here on Halloween (last year it was frigid!) so I will stay in with baby while my husband takes our daughter out trick or treating. I'm sure I'll have a cute outfit for the baby and we'll take pictures, but that's about it. I feel like slapping the parents I see that take their tiny infants out in the freezing cold in a flimsy costume with maybe a jacket and hold up a plastic shopping bag when you open the door. Yes, all that candy is worth the near pneumonia your baby will catch from this little farce.
It's hit or miss whether it's cold or insanely hot in Florida late October but we just bring the wrap and babywear. My last baby was born Sept 1 so we had a little one out trick or treating. It was warm so we just held her.
I had a cute idea last year that DD could dress up as Rainbow Brite and LO could be dressed up as Twink. But I'm not sure if DD would go for it, because she'll be nearly 3 and probably pretty opinionated about what her costume is this year.

C section is scheduled for 10/15, so I'm hoping I'll be able to put the baby in a front carrier and take them TOTing.
