Hey ladies. I'm 6 weeks and 6 days today. I had my first doc visit yesterday. On the ultrasound, the baby measured 6 weeks and 2 days and had a heart beat of 99. I was told that was good and that there wasn't much concern about the baby being a few days behind. They feel I didn't actually conceive when they thought I had. During the appointment with the doc, he expressed concern that the sac the baby was in is small and not as large as it should be for how far along I am or even how far along the baby is measuring. He said this could be nothing or it could be something. When I first found out I was pregnant, they tested my hcg levels because I've had 2 previous miscarriages. The first test was completed when I was 3 weeks and 6 days and was 34. The second test I was 4 weeks and 2 days and it was 93 meaning it tripled in 48 hours. I'm also trying to keep in mind that the baby is also measuring 3 days behind and that could be another reason for the low numbers but doesn't explain the small sac now. He did more blood work and is going to test my progesterone and hcg levels and I should have those results later today or tomorrow. He also gave me progesterone pills to put in my vagina each night until I'm 12 weeks. I go back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and if the baby and sac have grown, he won't be concerned anymore. Have any other mothers had this happen? My husband and I desperately want this child! My heart is crushed and I'm finding it hard to remain positive!
