Induced at 37 weeks??

So the baby has measuring a little bit small about 2 1/2 weeks behind i've had weekly sonograms since 30 weeks doctor says everything looks normal they been doing biophysical's and everything seems fine. Although the baby keeps measuring under weight i'm now 36 weeks and the doctor has scheduled me two times a week and says he will induce me at 37 if the baby doesn't catch up has anyone ever had this happen to them?I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing

my first was induced at 39 weeks. she had a growth restriction due to a prematurely aging placenta. the way the doctor explained it was that she would grow more outside my body than in.

I was induced at 37 weeks with my daughter as I had low amniotic fluid which restricted her growth. She was small, 5lbs3oz, but perfectly healthy. Once she was out she gained weight very quickly. She is going to be 6 in 2 weeks! Good luck! @GiselMamaPapa

Good luck!! I was induced at 38 weeks with my son. I was told at 37 weeks we were going to have to go this route. His growing had slowed then stopped. He was born at 5lbs 5oz and he's now a healthy and happy almost 5 year old who has caught up to the other kids his age quickly!

I had such a wonderful and positive birthing experience. I wouldn't have had it any other way. And having my son 2 weeks early my labor was so quick! Not that will be the same for everybody but it was in my case and hopefully in yours!

I was induced at 37 weeks with my first for severe iugr. They realized he was behind at my 20 week anatomy scan, kept doing repeat scans where he fell more and more off the charts. Finally at 27 weeks they put me on strict hospital bed rest to help with growth. I stayed in a hospital bed until they finally induced at 37 weeks but he was SEVERELY growth restricted, weighed only 3lbs 6oz at 37 weeks. It doesn't sound like this is the case for you and yes it's common practice to induce once hitting full term because growth restricted babies often do better outside the womb vs inside.

In our case, my son had an underlying genetic growth disorder that we didn't know about until he was 7 months old. But to give you hope- even being born weighing 3lbs 6oz he was perfectly healthy! Never went to the nicu, stayed with me the whole time and came home 4 days after he was born (they kept us an extra 2 days just to confirm he was eating okay- they were all amazed and in shock that my 3lb baby didn't need any nicu assistance haha threw everyone for a loop!)

Yes!! Same here. I was just about to post asking this same thing. I've posted in high risk about IUGR, but now my induction is schedule for 37 weeks because my baby has measured 4th% at two different growth scans now. Wishing you all the best!!
