Just wanted to ask have you guys gained a lot of weight so far? I am just 15 weeks tomorrow and have already gained 12 pounds. Is this too much already or is this all normal?
I have gained 10, I am 15w4d - But it is true that everyone gains differently. My doctor just told me to make sure that I continue eating well and being active at least 30 minutes a day. I usually walk daily if nothing else, but this is also up to your doctor to tell you. My doctor did not seem too concerned with my gain, but I also had been much less active in my first tri from not feeling well.
STM here. 12+4 and I've only gained 3 lbs, so not much at all compared to the 25 my OB projected I should.
As to whether the amount you've gained is appropriate, that's a question you need to ask your doctor. We honestly can't tell you whether that is healthy or dangerous without knowing your medical info.
I've only gained 2 despite definitely having a belly. I was expecting more because I feel like I can put weight on easily but not take it off easily. So like PP said, everyone is different
I have not gained any weight yet.. I actually lost 10 lbs in the first trimester (I'm currently 14 weeks). It's been really difficult for me to eat much due to ongoing bouts of severe morning sickness since week 6. I do know that personally I'm going to do my best to gain no more than the recommended 25-35 lbs for women who are a healthy weight pre-pregnancy. Everyone gains weight differently, though.
I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and gained 2 lbs. I had really really bad nausea in my first trimester and lost weight!!!! :-S. I was upset about it and asked for zofran to stop the nausea and knowing I am now gaining weight and keeping food down has eased my mind.
14 weeks and I gained 15 lbs, but I had alot of nausea and food aversions at first, this last week I've eaten more reasonably and have stayed the same weight. The dr did mention my weight gain at my last visit, told me to track my food, which I did, and that helped
I'm 12 weeks and I've gained 6. My doctor was good with that for me, but as others have said it depends on your pre-pregnancy weight and what your doctor wants you to gain in your pregnancy.
13 weeks 3 days with twins and I've gained 6 lbs. I expected more since I eat ALL THE TIME. But I do exercise around 4 days a week for an hr at a time. Mostly cardio.
12w5d and as of my appointment a week-ish ago, I'd gained 6 pounds. I did indulge in Mexican food for like the 4th time in the past week alone though, so I'm pretty sure that number will be rising pretty quickly
12w4d. Down 1.5lbs. I didn't gain at all with my first until 18w and then went on to gain 1lb/week until 41w, so 23 total. I hope I can do just as well this time or even better because it took me a veeeery long time to lose it all despite it not being much and breastfeeding.
At my 12w4d checkup, I had gained 6 lbs. I was at a normal weight before I got pregnant but my doctor said technically weight gain in the first tri isn't necessary since the baby is so tiny. However, he also knows that only way I could prevent myself from vomiting was by eating carbs, often....so he wasn't worried. I definitely feel uncomfortable though and am just patiently waiting until my bump is "bumpy" so I feel pregnant on the outside.....gaining weight has always been emotionally hard for me (as I'm sure many!!) so hoping once I look pregnant, I won't feel so gross. 13w5d today..... probably up another pound too. And still wearing my dang Sea Bands! Nausea be gone!!!!!
I'm 15 weeks and I have not gained any which surprised me since I definitely have a bump. Was a little worried since I've had no symptoms but doc said it was okay:)
14w 2d and I started out overweight. I have lost 6lbs since becoming prego but I think it's probably because I'm being a lot more selective about MOST (I did have Taco Bell this week) of the food I'm eating. Doc said its no big deal for now because baby is still pretty small and is growing fine. My goal is to only gain what's necessary considering I started out so high. Now that I'm feeling better it's easier to eat nutrient dense healthier foods too.
I'm 15+4 and have lost 11 lbs so far. I just can't eat like I use to. It's so different for everyone! Which is why I'm wondering when I'll start gaining. The nausea is pretty much gone except when I eat.
I didn't really keep track of my # of my weight pre pregnancy, I always just focused on eating decent and being active and working to look the way I wanted. I'm 5'6" and pre-pregnancy I was about 130ish. This week I'm at 136.8. And I'm 12w. I won't really focus on the weight # during pregnancy, mostly because it won't do be any good. I'm a FTM and I started showing at about 9 weeks, where my hubs and I could tell, and now at 12 weeks its noticeable to others. Which has been super hard considering we're announcing the week/weekend so no one knows. I get pretty amused when people have mentioned that FTM's don't start showing until 20 weeks. Maybe some do, but not this FTM. People just seem floored, act like it's almost impossible to show this early! There's no denying my clothes don't fit.
I hope that as long as you ladies are eating relatively healthy and getting plenty of nutrients that you aren't stressing too much about scale numbers!!
Plus a lot of us had aversions and cravings to wrestle in the 1st trimester!!! Go easy on yourselves!
I've gained a pound. I'm 15w3d found out its a girl. Honestly though I look so big not saying it's a bump but all over bigger...I'm convinced I lost a lot muscle mass and gained fat in its place
I'm 13w1d and I've gained less then a lb. but I also hike 5x a week 8k each hike. My husband worries that I haven't gained weight but my Dr isnt concerned as it's still early. I eat all the time. Lots of small meals durning the day. Once the evening hits food is the last thing I want. Food aversions are Crazy for me.
STM tip: if you think you look fat through your waist, get in maternity clothes or at least Bella Bands. They'll smooth everything out and make it look more like a baby bump and less like a lumpy fat middle.
I'm 15+3 and gained a pound or two but I am definitely showing. I'm 10lbs above my pre first pregnancy weight because I just weaned my twins last week and was still holding onto some breastfeeding weight so I've prob lost my breastfeeding weight and gained more pregnancy weight than the scale shows.
Twin mamas: in case you're scared like I was, I gained almost 50 on my very petite frame with my twins and lost all but a few (again, breastfeeding weight) and have no stretch marks. Everyone's different, but your body is not doomed. Eat a lot for those babies now because when you're big you won't be able to eat much. It's totally worth getting the babies as big and healthy as you can and minimizing or avoiding NICU time!
13 weeks and my weight is UP. Like 12 pounds up!! However I was pretty tiny to start and was always on some kind of cleanse or weird eating agenda... I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks and gained ten pounds in a month because I started eating normally and stopped running 5 miles a day... I am a FTM and was afraid of doing anything! My OB have me the go ahead to work out regularly now... I will continue to eat healthy and not run as hard, but hopefully now the weight won't pile on too much. Honestly more concerned about a healthy baby than a few extra pounds. This is the first time in my life that I haven't obsessed about my weight!
I'm a healthy eater, but also mini person (5'2", 100 lbs prepreg) and have gained about 5 lbs so far at 15 wks. I was shocked when my doc told me at the beginning they want me to gain 30-40 lbs!! That just doesn't even sound feasible or fun from my starting weight
I am 14 weeks and have lost two pounds thanks to morning sickness. I am rather petite, so I will be doing my best to stay within the 25-35 pounds of weight gain that my doctor recommends once I am able to keep down all of my meals again!
STM, 13 weeks today and only gained 2lbs so far. With my DD, I had gained 10 by the end of 1st trimester (but my pre-pregnancy weight was 10lbs less then this time so..)
I'm 15 weeks. Thanks to a horrendous first trimester, I lost 5 lbs and haven't yet made it up. I was pretty shocked to learn that I'd only gained 0.8lb in 5 weeks at my appointment yesterday. I have a feeling this will be like my second pregnancy, where I struggled to gain weight the entire time. Back to an avocado and 1/4C of coconut oil a day, I guess.
15w2d and 5'6"/138 lbs. PP. I've gained about 6 lbs. so far. Can't remember where I was at similar points in my last pregnancies, but I gained 34 lbs. with my first and 39 lbs. with my twins. Your body will gain what it needs, given that you're eating (mostly) responsibly.
I have drop about 5 lbs I'm 12 weeks I eat, but I have a limit on how much I can take before I get sick . All I know is that the baby is taking all my vitamin from me .

I am the same way but I'm further along than you and finally popped at 15+1 with the biggest appetite ever. I never gained weight before I got pregnant and lost weight from morning aickness. Now I have gained 3 lbs since then!

I went to the gym a lot beforehand so I think I am losing muscle weight. My doctor didn't seem concerned at all, so I'm not worrying.
