Update - Where is your baby sleeping?

I'm interested to hear where your LO is sleeping now that he/she is a little older. Still on your chest? Transitioned into a crib?

Where were they and where are they now?

LO was primarily in the rock n play near my bed but now is successfully sleeping exclusively in his crib! However, he needs the Munchkin vibrating mattress pad to get him to sleep. Bless the makers of that wonderful creation!

During the day it's in his pack n play (vibrating feature turned on) or the mamaroo.

Still working on this transition. Some nights she will sleep in her rock and play, some nights she is great in her pack n play, but we still have quite a few nights where she won't sleep anywhere but on my chest... I'll fight it for a little while and try to get her down elsewhere but I give up once I have to sleep. We are currently in a one bedroom apartment until fall/winter so the crib hasn't been used yet. I figure once we get to the new place and she has her own room we will work harder on this.

@btm013 where did you get your vibrating mattress pad? My mom has been looking for one for me because I think that will help tremendously!

Ug...he will ONLY sleep on my chest. We've tried the pack n play, rockers with vibration, and his crib and he just screams and screams. Im beyond exhausted, as im not comfortable with him sleeping on me. Almost 2 weeks old...any advice?
  • Rock n play by our bed. We live in a one bedroom duplex so space is limited. We won't have a crib until we buy a house come winter. We're gonna get a pack n play soon and try to transition
  • My LO slept in her bouncer for the first couple of weeks. Now that she's 4 weeks I've been transitioning her into her bassinet to give her little legs room to extend while she sleeps. At first she was waking up grunting every hr. She's slowly getting the hang of her new sleeping arrangement. Just hoping for longer stretches of sleep at night.
  • Pack n play newborn napper next to the bed (she's getting a bit too long for it now though). Swing during the day. She goes down no problem without any motion during the night but daytime...sleep be dammed if she's not in motion. She won't sleep on my chest she's too busy and nosy about anything going on.

Have you tried a mobile or white noise machine that has the sound of a heartbeat? I have this mobile:

My LO loves this as well.

6 Wo and in the Rock n play. I hope to stry naps in the crib soon

This is what we did. During the day I would put LO in the crib to nap. I would try to do things nearby so if he was fussy or woke up I was there so he knew I didn't go far. After a few days he got the hang of it.
  • She sleeps in the pack n play during the day in the living room. At night she sleeps in the bassinet next to the bed. Sometimes she falls asleep in bed next to me when she nurses in the middle of the night. I'm not a big fan of this, but sometimes sleep wins. We plan to transition to the crib in a couple of weeks.

Rock n play for the first few weeks then the motor started getting crazy loud and weird sounding, plus he started wanting to stretch his legs out a bit more... so we switched to the pack n play (raised for bassinet level) and swaddled in a Halo Sureswaddle sack and he's sleeping AMAZING!

Eta: day time he naps in bouncer (easy to move to different rooms) or in Mamaroo
  • LO is currently sleeping in a bassinet next to our bed at night, but there are times she falls asleep on my chest after feedings. It makes me nervous when I wake up and realize that she fell asleep in bed with us but sometimes sleep wins. LO is taking naps in a travel lounger during the day, but we are slowly transitioning naps into the crib. LO rooms is downstairs and ours is upstairs so I'm not quite ready to transition nights into the crib yet.
  • LO is 6 wo. During day she's mostly in the rock n play but at night she's in the bassinet level of the pack n play. Occasionally I'll put her in the rock n play at one of her overnight sleep sessions (like 1 or 4 am) when I don't have the energy to stay up to keep her upright for 20 minutes after feeding.
  • Still sleeps cradled on me and my nursing pillow I keep attached on my waist..... One day he will sleep in his pack m play .. I hope

Our girls have been in their cribs since day 3 at night. During the day usually arms and boppy pillows. They love sleeping on their belly with he boopy! (No worries I keep a close eye on them :)

I honestly don't think my LO likes to sleep on my chest! We did skin-to-skin contact the first few days after birth but it tapered off - mainly due to sore breasts from feeding. Terrible excuse I know but he always fussed anyway. He has no problem sleeping cradled in my arms.
  • The last two days it's been on my chest! The worst is I can't sleep because she gets so sweaty and I start burning up and I'm hyper aware so she doesn't fall.

Today is the first time she slept in her swing for more than 10 minutes crying to be held, snuggling up and falling asleep. Let's hope that was just a growth spurt
  • DS is 1 month old and sleeps in the swing during the day and rock and play at night.. Tried getting him to nap in the crib so that he gets used to it but all he did was cry and wake every 15 minutes... Ugh hopefully he will get used to it or else I may buy this mattress pad vibrating thing lol!
  • Crib since we came home from the nicu we are now only waking up really once during the night around 3or 4 and once in the early morning at 6 or seven but during the day he likes to nap with mom either on my chest or next to me.
  • Still by me but that was the plan all along.
  • LO sleeps in her swing, pack & play napper, boppy lounger, & lately on me during the day. Mostly on me not bc she has to, but bc I don't want to put her down. My separation anxiety is starting now for August 10th!!

We finally got crib sheets, monitor, & noise machine for her to start sleeping in her crib. Now all I need is a shade to cover the semi-circle window above hers. We have black out curtains, but I feel weird turning on the lamp to nurse/rock at night with that little window open to the front of the house.

Also, I want to ask her pedi about her noises while flat. She was in bassinet until those grunts/wheezes woke her up, now she's in her bouncer seat. (Slept 5 hours last night!!) Someone suggested it was a congested nose, but it's only when she's flat & it sounds like it's coming from her throat. I'm going to record her tonight/tomorrow tonight.

So hopefully crib transition by this weekend!!!

During the day it's the swing or on a pillow on the couch with me sitting next to him, when he sleeps his stint from 9pm-3am he's in the bassinet beside the bed and when he gets up at 3 to eat I feed him in bed and then we co sleep until DH comes home from walking the dog Edit-messed up my words!
  • We initially had LO in a bassinet in our room, but moved him to the nursery when DH went back to work - he just couldn't sleep with the baby in the same room. It's been working pretty well although I had a bit of a fright when the sound on the baby monitor cut out overnight! Luckily DH heard him crying and woke me up, and I don't think he was crying for long but I felt really bad about it.

LO has been very good about settling in the bassinet overnight (even if he does wake every 2 hours to feed at times). Once I feed him, I usually put him down either asleep or drowsy - he often wakes up but will happily chatter to himself or wriggle around for maybe 5-10 minutes without crying before falling asleep again. I think it helps that we've been pretty consistent about putting him in the bassinet at night (I'm not comfortable personally with bed sharing, and I think I wouldn't be able to sleep at all with him in our bed). I also try to keep a good distinction between night and day which I think helps.
  • Pack and play bassinet attachment at night, my lap or the boppy lounger during the day. Will work on crib transition when she is waking up less at night. For now I like having her so close so we can get to her before she is all out screaming for food.

My baby is 6 weeks he sleeps in a pack n play by our bed the thing is he refuses to sleep more then 15 minutes unless he's on his belly. If I put him on his belly he sleeps for 4 hours at a time but then I'm up like a nervous wreck thinking about SIDS. My mom says let him sleep on his belly...opinions and advice please

I have friends whose kids were like that, and they just let them sleep on their bellies. Eventually they just needed to sleep. It was about survival. The kids are fine.

You can look into buying one of those things that sounds an alarm if the baby stops breathing...I've read about them on here but am blanking on the name right now.
  • At night she goes in her bassinet, then when she wakes, depending on how tired I am i nurse and put her back in her bassinet OR i nurse laying down in my bed and we both fall asleep, in the day she likes to sleep on my chest, which I don't mind because I love her snuggles, but if I'm doing things I'll put her in her swing

  • 5 weeks old, Naps in the rockaroo or my arms. In the night she is mostly in the rock n play. Sometimes if I'm too tired to do the transition she will stay in the rockaroo at night if she has already fallen asleep there.

My mom said that we always slept on our bellies when we were babies, but now they say "back is best". Today at my LO's one month checkup they asked me if she sleeps on her back and I said yes and then they went to the next question so I'm guessing that was the answer they were looking for. I put her on her stomach sometimes during the day when I'm awake and just watching TV or something, but at night she is always on her back. I think as long as the mattress is very very firm then your LO should be fine. I worry enough with her just on her back so I wouldn't be able to sleep if I put her on her belly, but that's just me being a worrier ;)
  • LO is getting a little too long for the newborn napper, and I'm dreading moving him down to the larger PnP space. We just got him out of our bed and I don't want to mess with success.
