Customer at work, comes in to sit and chat (which I don't have time for) and then tells the dullest, most pointless stories. And she's obsessed with telling me where every single person (who I've never met or heard of) in these stories lives, like with driving directions and travel times. Makes no sense and is super annoying!!
My newest coworker. She's got no manners and totally goes around me for everything and asks all her questions to the owner! I'm the one who has the answers because I'm the one doing the work (I work in IT) and the boss is doing his own thing and really doesn't need her bugging him constantly. AND to make matters worse she is constantly speaking without thinking and regularly makes rude comments to me. She barely does her job as it is yet she has plenty of time to be a big brat! She's a receptionist for a small business, it's really not a fast-paced or difficult job, but she's struggling professionally and interpersonally! Phew I feel better, I guess I needed this thread. Lol. Happy Tuesday!
My mother. She is one of this people who thinks me being pregnant is her news to share (we haven't announced yet). Case 1: She told a family friend. I found out because we all had dinner at this friends house. My moms first response was, "I didn't tell her, your dad did." I then caught her in the lie and she said "well, I didn't tell anyone else." Sure you didn't. Case 2: I told her that I told 2 coworkers (all 3 of us got married within 2 months of each other, then had our 1st kids within 3 months of each other, and now we are weeks within each other for our 2nds). I just spat it out because I was shocked at the coincidence! Her response was "oh so I guess your telling people now" with a great big sassy attitude. Case 3: Yesterday DH and I had an ultrasound that cleared up some major complications we were having. She calls me about 3 hours later and says, "are you planning to tell your grandmother because I don't think it's right that I have to be the one to tell her." Um no, didn't ask you to and not do I want you to, shockingly I want to share this news that's about me!!! One of these things, no big deal. They keep seeming to come up though... sorry for the rant!
People on the internet expecting strangers to spew rainbows and sunshine over them when they are being ridiculous!
Yes! It is not my responsibility to coddle grown adults. It amazes me how some people get through the day in real life when they are so easily offended or insulted by everything in the world.
@sherks11 I feel you with the mother thing. My mom and I had a major falling out about 6 months ago, although, I told her that us not speaking had nothing to do with her grandkids and that she could call/skype/send letters/gifts whenever she wanted (she lives 2000 miles away so visiting isn't an option right now) I sent cards for the holidays, to her from the kids and sent updated photos. However, she hasn't tried contacting the kids at all after we stopped speaking and I found out from my aunt that she is telling everyone that I am forbidding her from contacting them. She also threw a huge fit when she found out I was pregnant and accused me of getting pregnant on purpose to take "another grandbaby from her". I am like ????????????? Is this real life?! Who says that? and Why would anyone DO that?! Gaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh. *rage*
People who aren't active on here and then think we should care about, and help them with, what to name their kid. Hey, maybe take an interest in others first, you selfish people!
My boss. Gahhhhh. He is nitpicking me over a 32 cent difference on a $29 million grant I'm preparing that we round to whole numbers anyway! One of those types that must find a flaw and blow it up just to feel important.
Yes! The hand holding has got to stop. That's how the board gets to be regular posters and not fly by, "Look at my fetus' genital area and tell me what I'm having!" posters. If you want a nice community of support, go join a church or some shit, not an internet message board full of strangers.
It is just the most ridiculous nonsense. I cannot even. Oh well, I'm going to keep sending the stuff from the kids. Next time I'm filling the envelope with 4 tablespoons of the tiniest freaking glitter I can find, though.

Glitter is good or maybe a parenting magazine subscription
@Paige6410 Right!?! And it's not like we aren't supportive. We just have a low tolerance for self-centered, vapid, childish behavior. Life isn't sunshine and roses, and telling someone they're being ridiculous is far from bullying.
Employment Insurance!! I am a 10 month employee (teachers assistant) and normally I would claim EI in July and August. Since I am due January 14th, I will be 40 hours shy of a full year maternity leave ( need 600 hours) if I claim now. So I am living with zero income at this moment. Using just what DH makes. Things are very tight atm.
I can't even tell you how excited I am for this thread every week. Already getting more interesting around here!!! What can we come up with for the other days!?
People that have been pregnant for a hot minute being like, "I don't have a bump?!" I know some of them might actually be concerned but for real, it all comes across as brag-plaining to me. I'm side eyeing you. I can't help it.
We're having twins, our first kids, and my mother thinks that we need every baby product, twin accessory, piece of furniture, in the book! And all right away! Pretty much every crazy product on Pinterest that nobody actually buys because it's crazy expensive.
My husband and I have some work to do to make room for a shared nursery in our small-ish house, but she is panicking that we don't have a double stroller or cribs yet. I'm only 14 weeks! We found the big stuff that we want, it's a matter of just buying it WHEN WE HAVE SOME ROOM!
I've had to firmly put my foot down several times that we don't want a lot of second hand stuff either for safety reasons, but she's still asking her friends who've had twins if they can give us anything. Rude, eh? Not to mention we're also having a shower in the fall so we can register for a lot of the small things.
It might seem kinda petty that I'm getting so pissed about this, but I've told her countless times what we have planned, our timeline (which takes into account possible bedrest or early delivery), and she still doesn't listen... I swear she thinks we're incompetent and these babies won't even have a place to sleep.
@aphilli8 I had a cat (she died last year at 16 years old) who had a thyroid problem for the last half of her life and especially towards the end, she would vomit a LOT. Did she ever vomit on the wood floors? Or even better, the bathroom tiles? Nope. Only the carpet or on the blankets, especially if something dry-clean only, those were her favorite to vomit on.
How about my DH and all of his friends from high school who do this week-long reunion every year that all of their SO's are subject to also. I just got back from a full week of cleaning up after drunk 30 year olds and stock-thin girls asking me if I'm having any morning sickness while smoking a cigarette in my face. Needless to say, I told DH that this was my last year of it.
People who give me unsolicited advice about pregnancy who have never been pregnant. I can take inappropriate questions but please don't tell me about my pregnancy when everything you know about it you learned from tv and movies. I agree with everything on this thread. I was starting to think that this board would get so stale that everyone would go inactive by the third trimester.
My boss. I told him I would appreciate it if I wasn't the only one at work right up until I leave for the day. I bake, decorate and help customers and answer the phone at a bakery. It's exhausting. He told me that he was going to be there more. This morning he said his wife, who is the cake decorator, would be there around 1:30( I leave at 2) and he's going fishing for the day. Gah!!!! So frustrating! Then I write all this down and I'm pretty sure I'm just complaining too much. Haha
Add me to the boss club. Back in April, I told her about a 5K I have this weekend and she said she would cover my shift. Well she told me today that she doesn't feel like coming in and I need to come in and bake my portion of the cupcakes for the day. This means I need to be in at midnight to make sure I can get everything done before my 5K at 8am.
Honestly I'm annoyed with the babies on this board that need to double up their big girl panties. It's dumb! Either enjoy the community and the ways of the board or gtfo. Also my MIL is too far gone on my sh*t list to save, I'm at the point where I don't even want her around my child. Why? Because she's over bearing and manipulative and I'm over it. Also to the old lady today on the wrong side of the road that doesn't know how to drive, yet giving me a dirty look. I'm just over everyone at this point. Who wants to just go to Hawaii and eat everything and sip on frozen drinks out of a coconut? Me!
Had the pleasure of waiting on an anti-vaxxer at work today who tried to explain to me the dangers of vaccinating.
I would have rather rammed my head into my computer monitor 26 times than listened to this crazy lady. Every word out of her mouth made me cringe and I couldn't even say what I was really thinking because I'm in Customer Service.
Re: Twatwaffle Tuesday!
Also, I can't wait until everybody knows the sex of their baby on this board.
I'm irritated today.
