Brown spotting

hi ladies
I'm very concerned. Last 2 times I've wiped I've had a little brown spotting. Have also had very mild cramps today. I'm 6weeks +6. I will call my doctor tomorrow since I'm not scheduled for my first apt until the 20th. Have any of you ladies experienced this??

Re: Brown spotting

  • Brown isn't really reason to worry. It's old blood. A lot of times there can be implantation bleeding from the embryo burrowing deep in your uterus. It's still ok to call but you only really need to worry if it's bright red.

  • Thank you @skruhmin. Even at almost 7 weeks? Wouldn't implantation bleeding have happened a few weeks ago? It can it just be implanting further?
  • cramps are normal... brown is old blood... only if its thick and dark pink/red should you get worried

  • Yup it can take a while. It can also be from sex or just plain no reason whatsoever. There is a lot of blood flow down there and the tiniest "trauma" can cause any kind of blood.

  • Thank you
  • At 5 weeks, I had cramps and very light brown discharge. My OB told me not to worry unless the blood was bright pink. She said it was my body adjusting to the hormones so that put me at ease.

I had implantation bleeding around 6.5 weeks with #1. My dr. said it is very common and not to worry. I did have a scan done and all was well.
  • I ended having bright pink blood late last night. Went for ultrasound this morning. I had a miscarriage:(. Thank you all for responses
  • I'm so sorry

  • So sorry for your loss. In my experience any sort of spotting is not ok and should def be run by your doctor. As its common for some women, it still is a cause for concern. Hang in there and I'm sorry again.
