S/O pp tummy...wwyd?

Would you wear a bikini (ok, probably not bikini bikini but a two piece) if you had no stretch marks, a flat stomach, but a little streched/wrinkly skin? The wrinkly part is mainly around my belly button.

My stomach looks ok, but definitely not what it looked like pre-preg. I would wear a tankini, but I got all my stretch marks on my butt and upper thighs so I have to wear a skirt or short bottom to cover them up.

Any thoughts?

  • I say if you're comfortable with wearing a bikini, then go for it.

My stomach is not flat, I have a ton of stretch marks, and lots of wrinkley skin, so I won't be wearing a bikini any time soon.

  • I'm wearing one when I go to FL... I'll be showing a new lil baby bump too, but it won't be big enough to justify a maternity bathing suit...

I was blessed with no stretch marks with #1 tho....

  • If you're going to be worrying about it in the back of your mind the whole time you're at the beach/pool, then just go for the one-piece.

  • I was back in my bikini about 2 months pp but I would not say I had (or have) a flat stomach. No stretch marks and I wasn't back to pre-pregnancy shape but I just didn't want to do a one-piece. I think it totally depends on what you're comfortable with.?

I did have to buy a new bikini, which was definitely not fun. ?

Then you would see all my stretch marks....which look really bad. I would have to wear shorts over top of it.

Last summer I wore a tankini top and skirt bottom. I'm not knocking this, but for me, I felt like I was wearing a granny suit.

  • I wore a bikini before I was showing w baby #2. I still feel HOT and as long as I am not gross then I dont think anyone would care.

I have seen worst bodies out on the beach/pool

  • Depends on your comfort level. My stomach is much like yours, flat with no stretch marks, but the skin is still a little loose. I still wore a bikini out during the summer when DD was only 4ish months old, I just tried to sit up really straight. I even allowed DH to take pictures of me in it holding DD.

Actually, it may do good things for my posture. ^_^

  • Oh, sorry.  I meant just whatever will make you comfortable.  I feel like we as women beat ourselves up over everything when in reality nobody pays an iota as much attention to what we're wearing as we do, KWIM?

I was looking at an LL Bean catalog today, what about

    This

    or This

And LL Bean had a cute skirt that is meant to be worn w/swimsuits too.

Oooh, that 2nd one is cute. I've never seen anything like that before.

  • I will probably throw one of my bikinis on once the summer hits (or we go on vacation, which ever comes first). I don't look exactly like I once did but I also have no stretch marks so we'll see, I will just have to get the courage up I guess, lol.

  • I think it just depends on your comfort level. My tummy isn't totally flat, but I escaped pregnancy and childbirth without any stretch marks. Some might think I could get away with wearing a two piece, but I wouldn't feel comfortable.

You can find some cute one pieces that would look cute with a sarong.

  • Maybe boy short type bottoms with a tankini top? I think you can mix and match pieces that like at Target and other places.

  • I just don't care.

Wear what makes you comfortable, I been around some people with the worst bodies and they have the best confidence. it's all in the attitude

  • I wouldn't, but I am really hard on myself, so any little imperfection and I'm covering it up.  But it all depends on how YOU feel in it.  Do you think you'd be self-conscious the whole time?  If so, then don't wear it.
  • I guess I just won't be doing any beach/pool outings any more in life because I feel like tankinis and skirts are very granny looking, but I will never feel comfortable (or look good) in a bikini again thanks to tiger claw stripes everywhere. Maybe a bikini with a gauze/mesh cover up? Somehow the cover-ups don't look as old-fashioned to me as long as they have shape to them.
