We are. Everyone finds out so early nowadays I'm sure the tech will be shocked when we say we haven't found out yet. I haven't scheduled the appointment yet.

The tech would probably only be surprised if you told them that you wouldn't want to know the sex. Technically, even at the AS, you are still finding out early ;)

  • Also waiting. I may ask the tech at our 12 week NT scan on Monday if they can guess out of curiosity, but I'm more concerned with my baby's health. I will be 20 weeks in early September so we have a ways to go.
  • We are waiting until then as well. Some people say that waiting is "old school" but I like it :)
  • We are too. Well our next Dr appt is on August 3rd and he was planning on doing an ultrasound (i will be 16 weeks) so he said he will look then and we should be able to find out. If not though our 20 week scan is August 23rd so we should find out then for sure :) so excited to find out so I start calling the little one by name and get our ds used to it :)
  • Mine is August 17th too! I'll be 20 weeks.

Not even planning to find out at the anatomy scan! Figure its one of life's few big surprises and I think it will be a wonderful experience to find out at birth when we can see for ourselves! Know I'm in the minority, I'm more afraid the tech will tell us when we don't want to know, just because they are so used to people wanting to know.
  • I'm waiting until the anatomy scan too (August 13)! At my job, the PA's offered to give me a quickie ultrasound if work was slow so we could peek. It was tempting, but DH is taking off of work to go to the AS with me, and I think it would be special to do it together. At the NT scan, the tech said she thought it was a boy but was hesitant because at the time I was only 11+3. Of course since then, DH just won't clam up about having a boy!
I was also not into the idea of the blood draws because of the chances of getting stuck with a huge bill. I know most people don't do it only for the gender reveal, but a lot of those tests also have a high chance of false positives for defects (they're still relatively new tests, after all). For me, it just wasn't worth the stress, especially for it probably being over nothing at all. I totally understand how some women would take advantage of those tests to get as much information as possible (knowledge is power!), but it just wasn't the option DH and I chose.

Just tell her you have no desire to know. With my son she asked us. She put the wand on my stomach and She said "I already know what it is. Do you wanna know?"

My mother wants us to wait until birth. But we will be moving right before or right after birth. We need to do all baby shopping before we move 1300+ miles and we want to do colors for the sex of the baby. So we will hopefully find out august 17th. :)
  • I have my next appt on 27 July, which I will be 15 weeks and then I can schedule my Scan, I can't wait
  • I'll have a 18 week scan middle of August and cannot wait!! It seems so close and so far away!!
