Baby Devin is here surprise c section birth story

So I came in Thursday with contractions 3 min apart at 3 o'clock. I progressed ok I went from a 1 to a 5 dilated at 7 pm after that nothing got the epidural around 8 pm it barely worked, at 1 am I asked the doctor if he can break my water he did once he was doing it he noticed why I hadn't progressed Any, baby was head down but 1 of his little hands were over his face and if I tried to have him vaginally his shoulder might come out of place since that was what was going to come out first X_X so c section it was at around 3:20 am they started the c section it went good new experience for me my 1st was vaginal. At 4:45 am Devin Elias was born he weighed 9 lbs 2 Oz and measured 20 1/2 inches I'm in love. I love my son my thing is I feel like a failure rationally I know it wasn't my fault but I was so set on having baby Devin vaginally too, my thoughts were if I pushed out a 10 lbs 8 Oz baby than this should be a cake walk I was wrong and the recovery and birth were totally different what if I want a 3rd child that's a guaranteed c section. sorry ladies just have had a lot on my mind since his birth.

    It is totally normal to feel dissapointed that your birth plan didnt go the way you expected it to but they rarely do. Just keep focusing on the fact that baby was brought into the world the safest way possible and thankfully they discovered his hand in the way otherwise it could have been a very traumatic birth for you. All that matters is that he is here,.safe and well not how he got here. Chin up sweetie you did amazingly! Xx

    You did everything you could! And now each of your children have their own unique birth story. If your planning on having a 3rd I would look into a VBAC as the success rate is on the rise.

    Love the name we are spelling our little man's Devon. My guy is measuring big so I may be having a csection too. All that matters is you have a healthy baby boy with a momma that lives him.
