Incompetent cervix support-cerclage

Hello. This is my second pregnancy and I have an incompetent cervix. We lost our first pregnancy, a baby girl, right before making 21 weeks. I just past 22 weeks and had a cerclage put in at 15 weeks. I've also been taking hydroxy progesterone injections as an extra precaution to prevent pre-term labor. My doctor has been checking my cervix every two weeks since putting in the cerclage and just found out my cervix is thinner than two weeks ago, not by much but it's thinner. I pray to God daily that this little one stays in at least until 30 weeks.

    Hi. I am so sorry for your loss. My story is very similar to yours. I also went into preterm labor and lost my first. For my 2nd pregnancy I had the cerclage and gave birth to my son at exactly 37weeks. I also had a cerclage done for this pregnancy and get my cervix checked every 2wks like you. As long as your cervix measuring fine, there should be no worry if it fluctuates a bit. I also measured a little less at this week's appt but nothing to worry about. Just take it easy and don't do anything strenuous. Take comfort that we are being monitored closely. Good luck with your Rainbow Baby.

    Fingers crossed that baby stays put as long as possible! And I'm so very sorry about your loss. As PP said, your doctor's will keep a very close eye on you and I'm sure you're in great hands. Keep us posted <3
