No vaccines ?

Is any parent out there choosing not to vaccinate their children? Why? My fiancé doesn't want us to get our daughter vaccinated, I'm not sure how I feel about it! No negative comments please! Just want input on the parents who didn't get their kids vaccinated.

  • I just posted this. Mind you its not a "serious" article but it makes some valid points

  • We're 100% vaccinating our child. The pros greatly outweigh the cons with this one. Agree with others. Do your research!!

Just out of curiosity why doesn't he want to vaccinate?
  • What happened at Disneyland? Just curious..

Good luck and do the research for both sides!
  • Sorry that you only got pro-vaccine responses so far. This is my second child and I did not vaccine my first and I am not vaccining this one either! Follow the money and you will see that pharmaceutical companies are behind the push for so many vaccines so often. I worked in a ped office and saw 1st hand the absurdity of the vaccine schedules. Vaccines contain a number of harmful substances and they are very unnatural. The best thing to do is give your child the opportunity to develop a healthy immune system. My first child was born in Italy, traveled to Spain, Morocco, British Columbia, and now New England and has never suffered from any diseases. Vaccines have their place in times of breakout and have protected people, but I don't think anyone has any business injecting my angel with a load of toxins based on fear and corporate pressure. Vaccines only last for so long and then wear off. That is why you have to go back and do it so often. They also weaken the immune system and make children even more susceptible once they wear off. Children sometimes die from them, but it is covered up and the parents are discredited when the speak up. Do your own research and read both sides- and feel for yourself the best way to go. Do not vaccinate just because of pressure from the crowd. The "experts" are not always right.
The term is 'vaccinate', not 'vaccine'.  This goes back to 'be sure to ask experts' argument.
  • I am choosing not to vaccinate my daughter until she is a little older.. Their nervous systems are not fully developed until age 2 or 3. Please research what is actually in the vaccine. I find it disturbing that we take care of our bodies for 10 months while pregnant, longer when breastfeeding.. No fish, no lunch meat, etc.. Only to inject our new born with poison and chemicals at such a young age. I received my vaccines growing up but if you would look at the number I received verse the number they give now, it has almost tripled. Also, the Disneyland measles outbreak started from an employee who received the measles vaccine. Good luck and do the research for both sides!
I'm just curious...I don't recall hearing that they found out who started the measles outbreak. I did hear that a few of the people had contracted it regardless of having the vaccine but sometimes vaccines aren't 100% effective since people's immune systems respond differently. However, most of the people that got sick had not received a vaccination.
  • Research it - do what's right for you- never feel you have to justify to anyone else your decision. Just make sure it's a decision you can live with either way. I vaccinate, but have a couple friends who don't. In the same regard - I've chose to let our children hang out- I don't feel I have to justify that to anyone. We shouldn't let these decisions alienate each other.
  • Educating yourself is the best thing you can do for your LO. We are definitely vaccinating, in fact LO had the first round of vaccinations today (4 of them).
  • Just a thought for down the road...

Before you can go into public schools you have to have been vaccinated OR go through the state/county/school board to have them sign off on you putting your kids into public schools and that can only be because of religious beliefs/medical reasons and sometimes other reasons are accepted but do look into it so LO starts school on time and you have ample time to get approved and the paper work to the school.

    Some parents don't realize this.

Also, when LO is older depending on her career path it may be mandatory for her to have had some vaccinations or require her to get one.

Whatever you choose to do as a parent is your choice, I would just consider every aspect like everything else you do in LO's life.

Maybe as a compromise with your husband (if you want to vaccinate) you get a few huge deal ones? But let others go...

I know I will not give my LO more of the elective vaccines like flu shots or Gardisal (however you spell it) because I don't see much stock in them as I do with measles and other diseases.
  • Omg I just died at that video. That was amazing I loved it. I agree with these ladies get vaccinated, do some research.
  • Love that video!
  • @Knottie76365376 hi I sent you a message to your inbox, I hope you can read it sometime and get some feedback if you can. Thanks in advance
  • Whoa to the non vaccinators.....  I can not imagine not doing everything in my power to protect my kids and keep other people's kids out of harms way.
  • Be careful who you listen to. Most people are uneducated or they are educated by pushers only and nothing of the other side. Do research on your own. Do what you think is best for your children. Drs are swayed as they are paid by vaccine companies. And the previous comment is not true in the majority of the states you can attend school without vaccinating because of a personal belief.
Also to comment about Disneyland, not one person died and measles are very similar to chickenpox which WAS something that Drs believed you should get as a child and now they have vaccination. There are a lot of disease out there most that you can die from.
Fyi. hep b is an std, they give this to a baby at 1 day old. They are pushing to start hpv at that newborn stage. That is an std. That is crazy to me.

A another option is wait till lo is a little older and get them slowly. Private message me if you want.

And of course the dr that goes against big pharma companies lost his license. These people have power and money.
  • And hep b can be spread many ways one of which is sexually.

    https://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/idepc/diseases/hepb/hepbstd.html

    Hepatitis B is Spread by:

    Vaginal sex
    Anal sex
    Oral sex
Sharing needles for injecting drugs, body piercing or tattooing
    Infected mother to newborn
Sharing personal items that may have blood or bodily fluids on them (razors, tooth brushes, nail clippers, pierced earrings)

Hope your kid never shares personal items with another non vaccinated kid...
  • Also, some states require vaccines for them to attend school.
  • Here in Australia the government won't pay you unless your child is vaccinated, also majority of schools won't enrol your child if they are unvac, if you do happen to find a school or preschool that excepts a letter goes out to every parent saying there is a unvaccinated child in your child's class... (Awkward)

And as pp said that so called person who went around saying vaccines causes This and That he got sued and lost his medical licence it was in the TV show the THE DOCTORS and I'm pretty sure that's an American show.

Also I think this post was created for drama/attention seeking/boredom/trolling honestly if you just searched you would of found many posts already on this topic.

Oh and can I just add while you were pregnant did you not get the whooping cough vaccine and or other shots or medicine for yourself? So what's the difference? Grow up!
  • Doctors are not paid by pharmaceutical companies to give vaccines. Where do people come up with this crap?! Agree with above post, its people who watch shows like Dr. Oz, The Doctors, etc.

Educate yourself and your parental decisions with RELIABLE sources.
  • I agree that everyone needs to research and decide for themselves. But please don't post a TIME Magazine article link as a credible source (that wouldn't have even worked as a research paper source in my college English course...). My thoughts are that NOT everyone reacts to medications in the same way so it is naive to think that everyone will react to vaccines in the same way. There are toxins in the vaccines and there are ingredients I personally wouldn't want to put in my body. However I feel vaccinating is important. I also completely understand why people don't vaccinate. There are most definitely side effects to vaccines and they are all listed on the paperwork. Brain damage is a possibility, death is a possibility. Rare but possible. Just like any unnatural procedure vaccinating is a risk vs reward. Weigh the risks and decide how you feel.

I don't trust everything I'm told by a person just because they are a doctor. I research and decide for myself how I feel. Medicine is constantly changing. Years ago doctors didn't think they needed to wash their hands before going from patient to patient. Now we know better. There are numerous medications that were prescribed to people until it was decided "Nevermind we were wrong sorry you have a birth defect" etc etc. Doctors used to recommend their favorite cigarette.

It's naive to just do what you're told without a second thought. And please don't tell me that the government/CDC/FDA never hides information or distorts the truth. Please don't tell me you think gov't officials/companies(including pharmaceutical companies) always have the people's best interests at heart and not money.

I'm just saying don't blindly follow the heard. Educate yourself. Weigh the risks and do what is best for you.

  • Bullshit sources listed above.
Literally zero science behind each link. I posted time magazine article because it's on a basic reading level and you have to pay to subscribe to medical journals. Therefore I can't link them. I pray your child never meets mine so they can't pass along measles
  • BIG PHARMA! TOXINS TOXINS TOXINS! AH!

Do your research. Ya know stuff written by people who know what the hell they're talking about. Vaccinate your damn kids. I'm so mad this thread resurfaced.

Yes, I don't know why someone brought this one up again.

  • I am vaccinating my child. My sources have information regarding both sides of the debate among other thoughts to consider. I'm not anti-vax I'm pro-do what's right for you after looking at all the information.
  • We decided against the normal schedule of vaccines. It just seemed like too much at once.

This is a great article we found very helpful, it plays both sides: https://www.ageofautism.com/2008/12/dr-bob-sears-smart-vaccine-decisions-for-families-with-autism.html

Basically we took into account our little one's environment and exposure to other children/people. Since he's our only child and not attending any sort of daycare (I stay home with him) he is least likely to contract certain ailments. So then we prioritized the vaccines starting with the most important and only gave him 2 for his first round. Now we will vaccinate him with everything that the doctor recommends - but on our modified schedule. We have a great ped who is on board and supports our decision.

My husband's sister does not vaccinate her children and his parents were devastated when we told them we had our son vaccinated. They made me feel like I was going to bring home a different child if I went through with the vaccines - but he did great! Didn't even cry and had very mild reactions (decreased appetite and slept a lot). My parents are on the other end and say things like we would be neglecting our child if we didn't vaccinate him.

It's scary to think your decision could change your child forever. But I truly believe we are doing the right thing. I believe that the U.S. is spoiled with vaccines. We have become entitled and forgotten how helpful they really are. There are other countries that still have polio and would love to be able to vaccinate for it!

I think it is all about frequency and timing of vaccinations and there is no harm in educating yourself.

Completely eliminating vaccines based on others opinions is irresponsible. Do your own research and talk to your ped. You'll feel more confident with your decision in the end.
  • @lilsunflowermomma
I'm curious, do you allow your LO around your husbands sisters kids?
  • I'll just leave this here.
  • @cassietegtmeier His sister lives about 8 hours north and we/they haven't had an opportunity to visit. I cringe at thinking about possibly getting them together and worried about the backlash I may receive from his parents and his sister. Her oldest son (4) is vaccinated but had a really bad reaction, therefore her other two little ones have not been vaccinated. We talked to our ped about it and he said as long as they aren't sick with a cold, flu, etc. and everyone is washing their hands, our son will be safe. We will be spending Thanksgiving with them this year and it makes me nervous. However by then, our son will have had the majority of his vaccines and we may increase the frequency beforehand to be sure he is completely protected. Such a difficult situation between families since we all believe we are doing what is right. My husband and I will discuss more as that date approaches, our decision could change.
  • @MrsWhiteToBe If that comment was directed at my article I would hope that you read it through it's entirety. Not once does it say that vaccines cause autism. It states that if your child has autism, their neurological system is compromised and the risk to vaccinate isn't worth the disease protection gained. The article discusses how to safely vaccinate your child with or without autism. I know Dr. Sears has a reputation - but he makes some very strong points in the article. And if you must know, I am in no way anti-vax nor do I believe anti-vaxers are bad people. I believe in freedom of choice, especially when it comes to the care of your children.
