Anyone currently nursing? How old is your lo? Are you planning to wean before the new baby comes or tandem nurse? Has pregnancy affected your supply? How do your boobs feel?
I am! DD will be 21 months on the 8th and still going strong, though she basically just nurses down for naps and bedtime, or if I've been gone a few hours.
I plan to night wean, but not totally wean. She started dream feeding and sttn at 4 months and hasn't stopped, though she doesn't do it as often. I hope she doesn't wean on her own, because I'm kind of counting on her to help with engorgement lol
I don't see any effects yet.
My nips are a little sore. I'm dreading it getting worse.
Anyone currently nursing? Me! How old is your lo? He will be two Monday. Are you planning to wean before the new baby comes or tandem nurse? Yes. Ive weaned to just before bed and occasional naps. I plan to start weaning all naps after his bday and then working on night in the next couple months. Has pregnancy affected your supply? It hasn't yet that I'm aware of. How do your boobs feel? Still feel normal but I'm not very far along so I'm sure that'll change.

I just wanted to say how nice it is to see so many mommas-to-be who are still nursing! My DD is 13 months and still nursing, and I am terrified that might be the reason we aren't getting pregnant (trying for 5 months now). I really don't want to have to wean completely in order to get KU and you guys are giving me hope

Hay my DS is 9 months... And I haven't noticed any change.. But he seems to be nursing more then usual... They say your milk becomes more salty and sour... He's not a sweets guy... Doesn't like fruit but loves meats and other savory things... Maybe that's why he is nursing more... Not sure but I see I have the youngest so far... I plan on tandem nursing... But we shall see how it goes
Same here my 20 month old is nursing constantly again! And it is getting painful! I'm 5 wks along and according to my last period i should of been 6 weeks so nursing really messes with everything!
I'm do excited to see this post My daughter is still nursing at 26 months. I plan on tandem nursing. I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant. I think my supply is lower my daughter has been nursing a lot longer then she normally does. No boo pain this time. I did with my prior pregnancy 5 months aho but miscarried. The pain was terrible with that pregnancy.
Anyone currently nursing? I still nurse my 1 yo once or twice a day.
How old is your lo? 1 year
Are you planning to wean before the new baby comes or tandem nurse? She is already self weaning, so I'm sure she'll be done by then.
Has pregnancy affected your supply? My supply of minimal, so I don't really know if it's been affected.
How do your boobs feel? My boobs don't feel any different. I am nervous about this because it was my 1st symptom with my daughter and now, I feel nothing. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

I think part of the reason for that is the boob symptoms at the beginning of pregnancy are to start getting your body ready to nurse. Since you're already nursing, it's like "I got this!". It's actually been a major relief to NOT have the boob symptoms this go around.

That's kind of what I was thinking was going on. Believe me, I'm not complaining. But you know lack of symptoms are bittersweet sometimes. But I know it's early yet.
Anyone feeling a lack of supply yet? I'm suddenly having a huge lack of supply, so I had to get back on the Fenugreek, which does seem to be helping. DH keeps saying it's just natural weaning, but I'm like, DUDE. This kid is screaming in my face.
Still nursing my 14 month old, but he's down to only wanting it AM/PM. And half the time he just wants to blow raspberries, not eat. I always thought I'd do tandem, but he may self wean sooner than later. Boobs are slightly sore.
Still tandeming my 4yo girl and 16mo boy, and not planning on weaning - neither child is ready and the baby nurses frequently, including all night. Haven't noticed a huge dip in supply yet, but I'm early still (only 4w5d). Last pregnancy my milk was totally gone by 9w and my toddler dry nursed the entire pregnancy. My nipples are already getting tender and I'm having to limit time for my older nursing and discourage the younger one from twiddling. Hoping my aversions aren't so strong this time! I had to use a lot of distraction techniques (for myself) last time!

I'd check with your doctor/midwife on using fenugreek during pregnancy. I was told by le Leche leader and my midwife can't do fenugreek while pregnant. I know most lactation cookies are okay my daughter has severe food allergies so I can't have them but I've heard good things about them. It's hard when supply drops I'm dealing with it too.

The bump is really messing up for me. I just wanted to say thanks so much for the heads up! I'm reading on the web about it now and so glad you told me! I only started taking it yesterday. I'll stop taking it immediately and put a call into my OB in the morning.
You are welcome. I'd want someone to tell me nicely so I tried hard to do the same. I hope your supply goes back up. My daughter is nursing all the time and I'm not saying no. Hopefully it will bring mine back up.
I'm still nursing my 18month old - luckily she's weaned herself from daytime nursing so only upon waking and bedtime but not much anymore... I think she will naturally wean the rest over the summer. i miss the huge boobs from my first pregnancy ha now they're just deflated but at least no boob pain I guess...
I'm still nursing my 14 mo DS. My plan is to let him self wean when he's ready, so if that means tandem nursing, then okay. I noticed a supply dip before I knew I was pregnant, and it's still lower than it was before but there's definitely milk and he doesn't seem to mind. Only in the last week or so my nipples have been sore while he's nursing, but my boobs don't hurt like they did the first time around. My biggest issue right now is this dang nausea is keeping me from being able to eat very much. Hoping it passes soon.
I am still nursing my 15 month old. I had been pumping at work as well, but my OB told me to stop that. I'm worried about stopping because he does not eat much food (has a strong gag reflex- we are working on it) and still nurses quite a bit when I am home.
Also, am I the only one who is terribly uncomfortable during nursing now due to nipple pain? I'm 5w4d but it started before I even knew I was pregnant.
Either way, I won't stop nursing completely til he's ready. I'm fully prepared to tandem nurse if necessary.

It's fine to pump and nurse during pregnancy. I hope you can find a more supportive doctor. I think you're doing the right thing for your son
@oceanchild did you start feeling aversions to nursing while you were pregnant?
@smushi I did; they haven't started bad this time with the baby yet (although my older nursling is getting me there a bit). Last time I would do things like chew really spicy cinnamon gum or crunch on altoids, drink super icy water or sip super hot tea. Sometimes I'd hold an ice cube. And also always distracted myself with my phone. At night in bed I'd bite my lip or pinch myself and count. Any other strong sensation I could create to distract myself from that feeling.

Re: Anyone currently breastfeeding
I've been planning to wean for awhile it just hasn't happened. How is he going to be 2 already!?
I just found out I'm pregnant. Will be 4wks tomorrow. I haven't notice a difference in my supply (yet) and so far my boobs aren't sore.
