With my son, I knew beyond any doubt he was a girl.

    Obviously, I was wrong.

You just described my husband! He believes a lot in intuition and he swore on his life this baby was a girl, he even went so far as to buy girl clothes and shoes. He was wrong and he wasn't excited for the first day or two about having a boy, he was just so shocked it wasn't a little girl. He's obviously over it now and it's so thrilled, says he always wanted a little boy.

  • I knew with both kids so I believe in intuition 100%! With this one I immediately had her named picked out, nursery decorated in my head and just knew. Same with my son.

With my first, I thought girl and it was a boy. This pregnancy is very similar to my last except my belly isn't as cute so I'm thinking girl but I really have no idea. I don't trust my intuition after being wrong the first time!
  • The day i heard twins i just had a feeling it was two boys...well we confirned i was right. I got two little boys with me! I think your gut could very well be right on this one.
  • This may sound crazy but when we were waiting for the results from genetic testing I had a dream the doctor called and said it was a girl. I immediately woke up from the dream and had a very strange warm sensation come over me. Sure enough, a week later we found out it is a girl!

When I told DH about the dream and warm sensation he asked me if I wet the bed! Lol men......oh and the chinese calendar thing said it was a boy [-X

So this is hilarious to me. I have been convinced since day 1 it was a boy. Two days before I got my genetic test back I had a dream they called and told me it was a girl...... And then Monday they called and told me it was a girl.

  • Is everyone having a feeling one way or another?
I honestly have no inclination what either twin is. It's kind of making me feel like a bad mom, ha.

  • From the moment I got the BFP, my boyfriend and I just knew baby was a girl. But I've only had dreams about having a boy. My mom and sister also believe I'm going to have a boy. I'm team green and the beauty of having both insights means I'm very comfortable with having either. When I think back to my initial intuition (girl), I'm satisfied. When I think about my dream intuition (boy), I'm satisfied. So at this point I'm so happy to be pregnant and just pray for a healthy baby :) but I definitely believe in having a mother's intuition. I will find out if I am correct in December :)
  • I thought for sure my firstborn was going to be a girl. Nope, boy. I had no strong feelings either way with my 2nd and it was a girl. I haven't had a feeling either way this time either but I've only been thinking about girl names. Probably a boy. I'll know in 2 weeks hopefully and either way I'm thrilled, I can see the upsides to both (I have tons of cute leftover girl clothes but oh my goodness my boy is so much more easygoing and less confrontational than my girl)

  • My dad told my mom on their first date that his first child would be a girl and my name (a couple years later he was right). I am mostly shocked that with an opening line like that my dad got a second date!

I'm hoping for a girl mostly because I am not a fan of my husbands name choices for boys and he doesn't like any of my boy names. I have a couple girl names that I really like for a holiday baby. My husband wants a boy. My husband and I are both from families with 2 children, with big sisters and little brothers! We will see :)

Did anyone else notice the weekly bump updates refer to baby as her?
  • Nope. I felt like it was a girl the entire time and we are having a boy.
  • MrsBwIVF, My coworker felt the exact same thing and said that she just couldn't decide one way or the other.  She ended up with boy/girl twins and thought that might be why she didn't have a strong feeling.

For me, I've said its a boy from the beginning and we are indeed having a boy!
  • I was 100% wrong with DS, right with DD.

  • @duckinoven we are the opposite we have a bunch of girls. I'll be super happy either way but I'm feeling girl (but that could be because that's what everyone else keeps telling me baby is). We shall see in December.
  • In the beginning I thought it'd be a boy... told everyone that's what I thought after a dream that I saw him in.. sure enough he is! But I was worried I'd be wrong.. i.e. not 100% sure

  • My first I told everyone from day 1 he was a boy and was right my last 3 I hoped for a girl but deep down knew they were boys (yes that is 4 boys) with this one I truly feel it's a girl, I will find out in a few weeks.
  • @bxxxxander1 that's exactly how my mom was. She had 4 boys and was really hoping for the 5th to be a girl because it was going to be her last, and then I was born =] lol

The night i got a positive I said boy. And I was right! I was so sure that we went ahead with a green room for the nursery. :)
  • My MW told me when I was preg with DD that she always asks if the mom had a dream about the baby and more often than not the mom will have a baby of the sex she dreamed of. I told her I dreamt of a chubby girl with curly hair and I got a chubby girl with curly hair. This time I had a dream early on that I was breast feeding a very lazy boy, our anatomy scan is next week so we will see! I'm holding out hope it's a girl but intuition says boy.
  • I was 100% certain I was having a boy my first pregnancy. A blond boy. Gave birth to a black haired baby girl.

Second pregnancy was identical to the first. I knew it would be another dark girl. I got a blond baby boy that time.

Clearly, I have zero insight about what is happening in my own body. However, my husband has been right both times.
  • I've been feeling like it's a boy, DH thinks it's a girl. I've had two dreams that LO is a girl and two more recent dreams that LO is a boy, DH has had several girl dreams! It'll be fun to see who's intuition was "correct" hehe. We find out in two weeks, can't wait to see LO again and she how much he/she has grown! :x

I don't believe I'm right, but I think girl. Maybe it's because I like imagining having a girl :) I thought girl with my last pregnancy too
I'll let yall know after August 21st.

My MW told me when I was preg with DD that she always asks if the mom had a dream about the baby and more often than not the mom will have a baby of the sex she dreamed of.

One part of me would like to believe this - my one and only baby dream ever was from right before I got pregnant and was so vivid. Some voice on high was telling me what to name my little girl (name was way out of leftfield, had never been on my radar), and in the dream I agreed and decided on a nickname as it was a bit of a mouthful. I'd abdolutely LOVE if this was a girl, but my awake brain would not name her something so pretentious...

Hope I'm not making enemies up there :-S

my intuition was WAY off! i was positively convinced it was a boy, had dreams it was a boy, and OB even thought it would be a boy...but it is a girl, and we are over the moon regardless! just praying for a healthy baby :)
  • With DS#1 I knew from the first moments that it was a boy. I can't explain it. My best friend bought me baby's 1st tutu (appropriate for a dancer mommy) but I told her to hold on to it because I wouldn't be able to use it. When the US tech confirmed it, it didn't feel like news at all. Lol
With #2 I wanted a girl so badly but part of me knew it would be another boy. Sure enough!
Now with #3 I've gone back and forth. More pink thoughts in the very beginning. I've had 2 girl dreams. When I think/talk about future times with this one, I automatically picture a girl. However, when we're watching LO on the screen I'm certain it's a boy. Weird. I can't make up my mind but if I had to guess I'd say boy.
  • I've had dreams about having a girl, and also about having a boy. I was right about my first baby, but not about my second, so I have a 50/50 chance I guess. We'll find out today! That's why I'm awake at 4 in the morning.
