No problem! Just wanted to tell you before others come on here and yell at you about it. The boards are neat because a lot share gender reveal ideas too. You should go check them out.
@makeoutside7 okay thank you I was not aware. I don't come on the discussion boards often and thank you!
We can tell.
Just out of curiosity, you stated you don't come here often. So what made you think starting a new thread to AW your LO would be appropriate??
Baa! I was just about to tell you @LSRoo that she is not going to understand this sentence with her being new and all.

How were you not aware? How did you spend your lurking time? I suggest you start at the top and read every post. Lurk and learn the ways of this board.

Oh okay, I did it because I am excited and wanted to share the good news obviously! Lol
I'm excited that I got a free burger for lunch today, but I didn't start a thread about it. The reason these type of posts are frowned upon are twofold. First we have topics pinned to the top of page 1 dedicated to sharing news about common interests such as sex of the baby news (as someone pointed out already). Second, a lot of ladies start threads looking for much needed advice or support. When other members post their own topic on something that should be on a shared thread, it pushes the aforementioned posts down and ladies in need don't get valuable answers.
If you decide to hang around and participate in the community, familiarize yourself with the search feature for any future questions or topics. There are a lot of great threads with tons of info that you might find helpful.
Congrats! There are threads stickied near the top of the front page to announce the sex of your baby and discuss name ideas. Additionally, it is highly recommended that you lurk and familiarize yourself with the boards before posting (since you said you don't come here often). That way, you would know that making individual posts about the sex of your baby takes away from other moms who may have important questions and concerns about their pregnancies. We are all excited about our babies, but there are appropriate places to share this type of news, and your own post is not one of them.
Announcement of a baby a the announcement of a free burger a little different don't ya think? Lol
No, not when we see three announcements all at the exact same time hogging up the first page. They're stickied at the top for a reason. People just see the 100's of comments and decide to skip it because their announcement deserves its own thread. Because their pregnancy is so much more important? I'm not really sure.

Yes, they are different because people would be more interested in the free burger as a separate thread because they'd like to know if they can get one too.
Don't get me wrong, we DO understand that you're excited about your baby girl, we really do, and Congrats! @Elyse1384 did a perfect job of explaining why these posts don't go over well, so I won't go more into it now.
I am having lasagne with garlic bread and salad. Probably a bit of balsamic glaze on the salad. Got a New York cheesecake for pudding and il probably eat 3/4s and let my husband eat the last bit. If he's lucky.

To you, yes. To a bunch of Internet strangers? No. We can all understand excitement but I had to scroll quite a ways back to find a post started about a lady who got some potentially upsetting news at her 20 week scan and was reaching out for support and advice. Please know that if we seem like we are jumping down your throat its not anything personal it's just that we have all seen these posts so many times even with designated spots to announce this. I will say congrats though. Team pink will love to hear your news and you may find some fun ways to do a reveal party if that's something you're interested in.
