Boob Size?

This post is kind of directed towards moms who already have little ones and breastfed. Okay, so this is probably going to sound kind of weird lol but one of my boobs is bigger than the other (since becoming pregnant). Now to people who have never seem them it's not noticeable, but my husband and I notice right away. The difference isn't actually an issue nor does it bother me, but I was curious to know if it happened to anyone else and when baby was born, did you produce more milk in the larger breast? The reason I ask is because it looks like the larger breast is changing like it should, and a lot faster than the other lol. It's definitely more veiny, the areola is a lot darker, and the bumps around the areola are also a lot more prominent than the other, oh and the areola is a lot bigger too. I'm just curious if my larger breast is going to be the one producing the most milk. And now I can't help but wonder if my smaller breast will produce any milk at all?
Thanks in advance =]

I'm a second time mom and my boobs didn't change at all during pregnancy, my nipples got a little darker but my sad A cups remained sad. I was truly worried I would have poor milk supply. Fast forward to DD's birth everything was great. She latched right away and my milk came in 1.5 days after she was born, then my boobs got huge (well huge for me!). I'm still BFing at 20 months and I've never had supply issues. I've learned size of the breast means nothing. Try not to overthink it! I know it was hard for me to take that advice but it turned out to be so true!

  • Thank you so much! It does make me feel better. Maybe righty will have a growth spurt and catch up to lefty haha
  • Size doesn't equal breast feeding success. But I do second you on the whole lopsided effect. If Righty doesn't catch up soon, I'm going to have to start stuffing my bra!
  • Thanks for bringing this up! I'm so happy I'm not the only one who has this problem! I feel like my left one is noticeably bigger than the right, and it freaked me out! My husband just laughs (he notices too lol), but he says he's sure the right will catch up! It's good to see that size won't affect breastfeeding though.. it still makes me a little nervous!
  • How weird! My left boob is bigger, the nipple is bigger, clearly changing for BF. However, the right is just not keeping up with the change. I've been paranoid only one will work!
  • My breasts grew in the first trimester only in my first pregnancy, then were really large when my milk first came in. Eventually my breasts came down a little in size as my milk production evened out. I am an overproducer and DS was a preemie, so he would get a flood of breastmilk at let-down. This pregnancy, my breasts grew in the first trimester and I thought I was down since I had gone up a full cup size like with DS. In my second trimester, I have noticed that my breasts are still growing. DH told me the other day that they look as big as when my milk came in previously. Makes me think they're going to get huge after I deliver.
  • Mine have always went up two cups sizes while pregnant. The longest I have been able to bf is three months. Size doesn't mean anything. I have a friend that is still bfing at 14 months and one of hers doesn't produce at all anymore, so she is a little lopsided. Certainly doesn't bother her any.
