NST at 40 w 6 d

My due date has come and gone, and I am scheduled for my next appointment July 8 which will put me at 40w6d. They are having me do an NST.

Is it possible for them to induce me the same day if they are not happy w the results? Or are most dates set ahead of time for inducing?

Ftm so I have no idea what to expect because I haven't had a stress test since pregnant. I have had good blood work, good urine, good blood pressure, no GD, a negative on the strep test. I am measuring on track as well. There have been zero concerns up until this point.

They can induce you anytime. I went in for a my normal checkup which included a NST, doppler and ultrasound and growth measurement and clinical and then I ended up going straight into the labor and delivery and getting induced.

With my first one, I went to the doctor one day and I told him I was so uncomfortable and ready for the baby to be born and he told me to call L&D the next morning to see if they had space and if they did, to go in to get induced. It was 4 days before my due date and I had been dilated 3cm for about 3wks. With this pregnancy, I was going to be induced at 39 weeks if I was at least 3cm dilated but something came up and I'm having a section at exactly 39weeks. So to answer your question, no I don't believe you need to be scheduled ahead of time.

A lot are scheduled but if something concerning pops up, they will get you in very quickly.

I have my second stress test today and I'll also be induced Wednesday if he doesn't come on his own...and I have a feeling that's what it's going to take.
I haven't had a regular dr appointment since last Monday so I still don't know if I'm dilated or effaced at all.

My last stress test everything was perfectly fine so I don't know if they'd induce before my scheduled date.

I've had 3 Nst I'm now 39 weeks. I have slightly high no, no pre e, but said they would induce me next week. All my Nst have been fine though. I am prepared for them to induce me anytime.

Just came from mine (I'm 40+4) and since everything looked fine they sent me home. If anything had been wrong id imagine they'd induce right away, so we went prepared with bags packed, etc.

Oh wow! You could literally go into labor any second!! I bet you go into labor on your own before the 8th! But however you do , best of luck to you and congratulations on being so close to having your little one in your arms!!!

I went for my nst today at 40+2 weeks. My dr doesn't want me going past 41 weeks so I have my induction scheduled on Sunday. But she said if I go before then it's ideal. I think she'd say something if she wanted to induce you, my dr made sure I didn't leave today without a scheduled induction because she just doesn't let anyone go past 41.

@qtjo5 The nurse that performed the test didn't discuss anything specific today, but my doctor had previously let me know that he wouldn't let me go past 40+8 (this Friday). My impression is that since the test was good I'll get to wait it out until then, and Friday would be the induction date. Nothing officially scheduled though, because the hope on all sides is that I'll go into labour naturally before then to avoid an induction.
