Re: July 6th Monday Health and Wellness
Strugglemuffin of the week: Found zero time to work out all week, aside from two walks while we were at the beach with my family. I need to get back into running this week, big time!
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc: I haven't even had the time to sit down and really read all of this, but a friend of mine shared it on Facebook, and it looks really fantastic and comforting (I skipped over the God bit, but if you're into that sort of thing...) to all of us first-timers who are freaking out about basically any and everything.
Targets for the next week:
Diet/nutrition: Eat less tuna. The deli next door to my work makes the BEST tuna salad.
Mindfulness/spirituality: DH and I are both atheists, so it kills me when people say they are "praying" for everything to go well with this pregnancy, or that "God has a plan", or something like, "if this one doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be". On that note, I seriously need to get better about writing down the things that are bothering me. I hold a lot in. Likely, to keep a positive demeanor and keep those around me happy, but the truth is -- the world isn't sunshine and rainbows. I think working in retail for so long can make one fake politeness far too often.
Win of the week: (Big or small what was a positive you want your gold sticker for)
I got some good workouts in this week. I ran 3 times and had long walks on the other days.
Strugglemuffin of the week: (Just because we know... doesn't mean we do) we spent the weekend at ils and I did not eAt well since they are big fans of eating out.
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: (Share a tidbit, website, article, recipe etc)
Targets for the next week (applicable to you): (Pick one or all of the following)
Diet/food/nutrition: stick to healthy foods even when we return to the ils.
Exercise/movement: run 4 days this week
Mindfulness/spirituality:
Organization/life: trying to organize for spending all next week at ILs.
Strugglemuffin of the week: (Just because we know... doesn't mean we do) bad on working out/walking... partially bc of all the diy/cleaning craziness, partially bc I was in a lot of pain... partially bc I am lazy
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: (Share a tidbit, website, article, recipe etc) I made a healthier version of this but its a great carb hit AM or PM.. so far I have paird with bacon and eggs for bfast and sausage for lunch, after making originalyl for the BBQ- https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables-recipes/bbq-baked-beans/
Targets for the next week (applicable to you): (Pick one or all of the following)
Diet/food/nutrition: Track EVERYTHING and stay in my cal boundries while eating the rainbow
Exercise/movement: Run/walk and yoga
Mindfulness/spirituality: Headspace
Organization/life: By the end of the week I want my life and house hyper organised.. this includes a full budget revamp
Strugglemuffin of the week: I had GD during my last pregnancy and I want to be mindful of what I eat but having just gotten my BFP last week, I am having a hard time getting into the super healthy eating mindset. I am hopeful to keep my diet in check, so I will not have to take any medication to control GD this time around (though I realize that may be unlikely).
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: Just taking it all day by day
Targets for the next week (applicable to you): Mindfulness/spirituality: I recently bought a journal to write my thoughts, experiences, etc. I used one in the past during a long vacation and I really enjoy reading it every now and then. It is cool to read-back to past experiences and understand exactly how you were feeling at the time. So far, this new journal only has a four leaf clover I found from my back yard but I plan to start writing in it this week.
Strugglemuffin of the week: (Just because we know... doesn't mean we do) - Actually doing ok with this one, especially since coffee doesn't really sound good right now (check back with me in 3rd tri when the exhaustion hits again and I'm not pukey)
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: For all of you who are first timers, I know that every little twinge/ache, pink on the toilet paper, NOT feeling symptoms, PLEASE try not to stress yourself out too much. All of those twinges are our bodies doing what they're supposed to do - things are moving and shifting around and that's a good thing. It's ok to go to bed early. It's ok to eat ice cream for dinner if the thought of anything else makes you puke. Pregnancy is a very scary time, but it's also a beautiful time because you are growing life. Try to be easy on yourself. Also try to keep a sense of humor since pregnancy is also very weird - your body will do some very funky things over the next few months. All of it is absolutely normal.
Targets for the next week (applicable to you): (Pick one or all of the following)
Diet/food/nutrition:
Exercise/movement: Ordered a prenatal fitness DVD. Hopefully it will come soon and I can get moving.
Mindfulness/spirituality:
Organization/life:

Our family of 5 is complete!! Love our boys!
Strugglemuffin of the week: I miss hot drinks (coffee and tea). What is everyone else drinking in the morning?
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: I've been watching a lot of youtube videos of babies in the womb - it helps me visualize since my first appointment seems so far away!
Targets for the next week (applicable to you):
Diet/food/nutrition: Stay within calorie goals
Exercise/movement: Go to yoga tomorrow! I haven't seen the gym in quite a while.
Mindfulness/spirituality: Take some time each day to enjoy this without letting the worry creep in.
Organization/life: Get rid of clutter and junk in preparation for all the new cute baby stuff!
Strugglemuffin of the week: I still haven't gotten my sweet tooth under control. Also, I really want to hike the trails near my house but it's all still flooded (has been for weeks). It's such a good workout/mind clearing activity and I miss it.
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: Don't know yet, but yesterday I picked up some books and will hopefully up my pregnancy-health-knowledge game.
Targets for the next week (applicable to you):
Diet/food/nutrition: Cut way back on sweets
Exercise/movement: Walk at least 4 nights a week.

edited bc quote box isn't working_____________________________________________________________ The bolded would enrage me. I'm in a weird spot right now where I don't consider myself Christian, definitely don't believe in the bible, but don't know how I feel about a higher power. (Agnostic, maybe?) I don't think I'd be bothered by someone praying for me, but I don't know how I'm going to handle my dad who is pretty religious these days. I'm already uncomfortable when they insist on saying grace at dinner. I haven't told many people about how I feel lately. Do you have any advice for dealing with religious family members?

Strugglemuffin of the week: slight spotting and it's making me nervous
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: motivation is that I am going for walks everyday to try to not gain too much weight
Targets for the next week:
Diet/food/nutrition: eat less junk. I have been eating smaller meals but more often.
Exercise/movement:walking
Mindfulness/spirituality:praying that everything will be OK
Organization/life: organizing the spare room so it can become the baby room
I still drink 1 cup of coffee in the morning. I did all through my first pregnancy and they say less than 200 mg/ day of caffeine is considered safe.
Edited cuz words are hard
Strugglemuffin of the week: I got a stomach bug and did not work out other than a few walks.
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: nothing yet.
Targets for the next week (applicable to you):
Diet/food/nutrition: more fruits & veggies
Exercise/movement: more work outs
Mindfulness/spirituality: staying positive... previous mcs at 7 and 10 weeks.
Strugglemuffin of the week: Sweets. I ate an entire pint of ice cream last night before I even ate my dinner. Also missing booze!
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: Errr I'll let you know when I find one!
Targets for the next week:
Diet/food/nutrition: Calm down with the sweets - make some healthier/small options for when I'm really craving a little something.
Exercise/movement: I would like to work out 4-5x this week. I have been really good about going to crossfit 3x a week, but need to up my activity a bit more. I am overweight so really looking to limit my weight gain, and since I'm starving right now I know I'll be eating more.
Organization/life: We are having a pool party this weekend with a bunch of DH's friends & kids. So, need to get the house cleaned up and organized and prep for that. Also hoping to refinish the armoire we bought this weekend before everyone is over!
Strugglemuffin of the week: Having way too hard a time cutting my coffee back
Most useful piece of knowledge, motivation, etc.: I highly, highly recommend Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, even if you're not planning on a midwife/homebirth etc. (I'm not). It's an incredibly inspiring book that I wish I'd read during my first pregnancy.
Targets for the next week (applicable to you): (Pick one or all of the following)
Diet/food/nutrition: I'm vegetarian, so making sure to eat lots of protein and iron throughout the day is a big one. All I want is ice cream and cheese though!
Exercise/movement: Run 2 more times this week (finish my Couch to 5k program!)
Mindfulness/spirituality: Journal, less screen time - be more present.
Organization/life: Purge, purge, purge. Getting rid of anything that doesn't "spark joy" a la Marie Kondo.
