BFP

Friday at work I just had a feeling so on my lunch break I bought a test and sure enough I got a BFP!!! I'm so excited! Wishing everyone BFP as well!

EDIT= I was on this app everyday reading posts, I simply did not have anything to say or any advice to give that is why I never really posted. I would see other posts about others saying they got BFP and I was always happy for them. So sorry this came out rude to all of you because I never posted anything I wasn't trying to brag and rub it in everyone's face. I was just happy and wanted to share with the app that I read everyday. After reading all these posts I sure am glad I wont be back on here.

  • While I am happy for ANYBODY that gets a BFP that is wanting one.....this is somewhat rude to post on a TTC board filled with women who have been TTC for a while. This would have been a more appropriate announcement in one of the TWW threads.....had you been an active member you would have realized that.....(not trying to sound mean, just informative).

and now I too shall join the gif party....

Just so I know incase it's ever me - you're all upset because she wasn't a regular here right? But if we've been active for awhile is it ok to let everyone know so we don't just disappear? Because I've seen a few other regulars post their bfp and everyone was just happy for them. Not trying to be snarky I'm honestly just wanting to know so I won't do anything wrong. (If it EVER happens!) :( Am I still considered too new? Lol
Yes, it's when people post seemingly out of the blue that it feels like they came just to brag even if that was not their intention. I recognize you, so I wouldn't consider you to be a drive-by. (I feel new still too!)

Winner winner chicken dinner.  If you want support, you have to give it.  You have to encourage other women, support them, offer advice, and then we gladly give our praise when you get your BFP.    It's like any other "friendship".  It's a 2 -way street.

I think I've done that but I've only been on since I think May. So I didn't know if most everyone here recognized me or whatever. :)
  • Would it be possible to make a sticky that explains very tactfully in the way @Carazona5 asked and how others responded to her via quotes in a very straightforward, easy to understand way why some BFP are celebrated and others set people off? Like TWW threads are ok, and individual posts are only ok if you've been heavily involved over X amount of months?

Even lurking, the "no pee sticks" rule (visually, yeah, I agree it can be disturbing) reads kinda like no +HPT news whatsoever is welcome and just please slink away to your BMB board. Like TTCers are incapable of being happy for others, which I KNOW isn't true, because I've seen a couple BFP get celebrated. But many are the drive by kind like this apparently and end up horribly like this.

Maybe it's a silly idea, if newbies won't take time to read stickies, more probably won't help. But there's some of us on here who desperately want to understand the intricacies quickly and the sticky threads do help.
  • I feel like it's common sense, but assuming people understand stuff like this always gets me in trouble.

Honestly, think of it like this....would you run up to a group of women that you've never interacted with and say "Omg I'm totally pregnant! Wanna celebrate with me, stranger-ladies?"

No, because that's ridiculous. Why would it be any different here?

Even though I'm technically a regular, I've been staying away from this board because of the BG ban-hammer and even if I were to get a BFP, I wouldn't make my own speshul snowflake thread. There are so many newbies here I haven't really had a chance to get to know and it would really be unfair to them.

Anyway, that's my take on the situation.

OP, this is in poor taste and I'm disappointed yet not surprised that you didn't take the time to get to know us before you
rubbed your BFP in our faces. Shame shame shame. But congrats and all, I guess....

I agree with this.  I don't post all that often, but will comment here and there.  I've been here about a month or so but even that doesn't make me a "regular" and even if I were to get a BFP, this is just not the place to announce it.

    Congrats... now move along.
