Newborn boy clothes

Im due July 31 with #2 (a boy). Daughter was born in December and lived in zip up sleepers for the first month or so. We live in the northeast so will only have 6-9 weeks of really warm weather. What are you buying your baby boy to wear? What is easiest if you are going out somewhere? Don't want to overheat him. I know such a trivial question and I'm totally over thinking, lol. I'm just exhausted and can't make these decisions! Ha!

Re: Newborn boy clothes

  • I'd just do onsies or something and bring a lightweight blanket like one of those Muslin ones. I think I'll always have extra socks and stuff in my diaper bag but that's my plan I guess. I'm also a ftm so this might all change.

  • I've had the same dilemma when it come to choosing what size to by warm & cold clothes...our LOs are born right at 3 seasons in their first 6months, makes it difficult.
But I did mostly onsies & shorts jumpers in newborn & some 0/3...started mixing in fall pieces in then as well. Left all the tags on so I could exchange if he decides to come out a 10pounder instead of 5-6lbs like my doc predicted.
  • Onesies and a few sleep and plays. Really he won't need a lot, being that it's summer and they don't stay in newbkrn clothes for long.
  • I have a variety. My twins will probably be in side most of the time so I usually will have them in sleepers or indies with a light muslin blanket swaddled around them. My babies usually like to be swaddled :)

Well i am n Alabama and im pretty sure that what we have down here is a close second to hell. With that being said and knowing im cloth diapering i was just gonna have him n a t-shirt and a diaper (i have the one size cloth diapers and there huge on newborns, they look like sumo wrestlers with clothes on)...dont plan on leaving the house for 6-8 wks. With that being said i went to 3 stores today looking for just a set of white t-shirts that werent onesies and couldn't find 1...sooo annoyed..i didn't wanna have to buy random t shirts...

I love the little cotton rompers too if you want something a little more "outfit" than onesie. Really though, I'm in south florida and plan on keeping him or her in nothing more than one layer with a muslin blanket on top
  • Thanks @mrsrep123 we dont have a Carter's around here i shoulda known to internet shop!
  • I have way too many clothes. My mom shops constantly. We live in a very hot area of Florida with near constant 100% humidity. So I have everything from sleeveless onesies to zip-up jammies to sleep sacks and muslin wearable blankets. It has really gotten out of control. Jack's wardrobe is spilling into two drawers of my dresser already!!
  • Onesies, socks, and a light receiving blanket to drape over him - i'm in southern Ontario, Canada, so we get wicked hot and humidity for August, i'm worried about him overheating too but we'll see how it goes!
