I'm hoping to go until DS is 18 months. I had always said a year but I've been reading more about the health benefits past 1 year. And at that point you're only doing it once or twice a day which seems like a small commitment that the health benefits outweigh.
It will depend on DS though. Hopefully he doesn't try to wean himself sooner than that.
Depends on DS but at least 1 year! Now that it's becoming easier (DS is almost 8 weeks) I'm feeling more and more confident. I'm doing it for the health benefits and also the bonding. Even though he wakes me up at night I just love the way he looks up at me and I don't want to let it go bc I know they get big so quickly ❤️❤️❤️
I too plan on at least a year but the more I read the more I wonder if longer would be better. I have a huge freezer stash already so maybe after a year I'll do bottles/sippy cups?
Originally I planned to not go past 6 months because I thought anything other than that was weird. But now I don't think I can give it up that soon. I love the bonding with DS. So I might keep it up for a year depending on what he'll let me do
Plan in doing atleast a year. With my first I did 18 months and son a year. Such a wonderful bonding experience and they have been incredibly healthy ever since.
Planning to go as long as we can. That was 2.5 years with ds1. I Iove the health benefits, the bonding, but let's face it, it's like a friggin magic wand! Mama could cure anything in 5 seconds with the boobies. Lmao
My goal is 6 more weeks til I go back to work and then I'll try to go at least 4 months maybe will have to supplement with formula for daycare or if he's not filling up. I'll see how easy it is for me to pump at work too. Ideally I'd like to try 6 months but we'll see!
18 months. I went 19 months with my first just because it was emotionally hard for me to wean her. But we ended up going out of town without her for the weekend and when I came back I just never nursed her again. It was easiest that way
IM hoping on going a year plus if my LO is still wanting to nurse. But I am just taking one day at a time. So far we have been going strong for 9 weeks now!! I feel like we have it down pat but you never know.
I plan on a year. I'm also thinking maybe longer from reading about the benefits. I may just continue to give her bottles with breast milk rather than nurse her.

I'm playing it month to month cause it's so hard to predict with breastfeeding how things will go. But my goal is to do what I did with my first and go 14 months. Fully breastfeed for a year, then just at night and morning for a month and then cut out morning and just do night for a month.
