Sex = ridiculous cramps

anyone else get really bad cramps during and after sex??? My sex drive is nuts and we have sex at least once a day. Lately when we have sex, I get these god awful cramps at the end and then for a little after. Almost feels like a contraction

    Yeah it can be completely normal. As long as they're not accompanied by bleeding, I wouldn't worry. Sex can set off mild braxton hicks, which is basically tiny practise contractions. If they last for ages after, it might be worth mentioning to your doctor for reassurance. But with all 3 of my pregnancies sex sets off my belly. Unfortunately it gets worse for me as I get bigger! Just enjoy the sex!

    It's only happened once for me and was new to this pregnancy (no problems whatsoever with my first).  I'd always had the non-painful braxton hicks, but a few weeks ago about ten minutes after, I thought I was going to be sick, I had the worst cramps.  I had to lie on my side for about 15 minutes just concentrating on my breathing.  It was not fun.  It took me a few days to get back in the saddle, and thankfully it has not happened again.  Just taking it very, very slow at this point.

    Orgasm causes uterine contractions when you're not pregnant, but they're not as noticeable because your uterus is small and empty. When your uterus is big and full, the contractions feel much stronger. They're totally normal, but obviously can be scary and don't feel very good sometimes. Think of them as strengthening your uterus for labor, if that helps. As long as they don't keep going after for more than half an hour, you're fine.
