Spitting up last bottle of the day

Okay May Mommies, I will call the pedi in the morning but wanted to know if you all had any ideas.  Our daughter has spit up the entire contents of her last bottle of the day the last three nights in a row.  She is taking 3-4 ounces at a time and eats every 3-4 hours, longer at night.  She hasn't spit up more than a little dribble during any other feeding.  I would think if it was a milk allergy or a problem with the formula we use (Enfamil Infant) she would be having the problem with each feeding rather than just the last one of the day.  Any thoughts on what her issue could be?  She will be 5 weeks old on Friday.

  • Could be over feeding at that time of day. A lot of babies cluster feed around that time of day to prepare for bed time. I could be that she just wants smaller amounts more frequently. Also -- are you laying her down right after for bed? Could be reflux.

  • ^^thats what I was thinking, maybe you're laying her down too soon..? My 6 week old falls asleep at the end of her bottle and I hate trying to burp her because I really don't want to wake her but I've learned even if she's asleep I've gotta do it or she'll throw it up later. I've been burping her when there's like a 1/4 of an ounce left so I can use that to soothe her to sleep
  • I'm having this problem too. How long do you burp your LO before you put them down so they don't throw up?

I BF and When my LO wakes up between naps at what she considers "night" she often spits up a lot of milk at thr rnd of the feed because she's so sleepy for the most of it she doesn't swollow then when i take my breast out of her mouth it all catches up with her then she starts coffing and spitting up,

Does your LO fall asleep during the last feed? It might be that, in that case it's not the whole bottle , it does seem like a lot but it's just as much as their little cheeks can hold whoch can't be that much
  • All what the others pisters said, also do you swaddle at night? Maybe you swaddled your lo too tight that dhe is uncomfotable.
