Give me strength....

we just found out we were approved to leave Germany early and move back to the states. My husband is military and this has been in the works since around March. In proper army fashion they waited till near the damn last second. Now we have to get me and my two dogs home and all our stuff, two cars and of course the hubby....Figure out health insurance coverage for a hospital at home and my husband has to get a place and all wherever we end up. Still don't even know where we are moving to and our things likely won't get there till after or close to when baby arrives. I'm 30 weeks so I have about 4 weeks to get home! Stressing out majorly but so happy to be going to back to the states and closer to family!!! Need all the good vibes and encouragement I can get :)

  • Thanks! I'm just hoping the details work out and we find out where we are going next week! Maybe they can do something in a timely fashion for once lol

  • Wow!! That's a LOT to go through at the last moment!! Good luck and keep us posted! One day at a time ;) I made the move the other way around with a cat a few months ago, and I can only imagine what it might feel like to go through it all so late in the game...
Forgive me for being nosy but - aren't you guys being taken care of by his armed forces insurance? Or is that not how it works? I'm just curious - it surprised me that it wouldn't be "all taken care of"?
  • Well with it being middle of "Pcs" season (when a lot of people get moved) there's a chance our household goods shipment and cars won't make it to our next military duty station in time so I'm most likely looking at being at my parents for the birth of baby. Since they don't live near a military community I was looking at what doctors were in network online and I was finding a primary care doctor and OBs but no hospitals were showing up as "in network". I mean there has to be some way to go to a hospital out of network...there are always emergencies....just have to find the right person with the right info to talk to.

  • Hurry up and wait! That's what the military is good at. I'm happy that you'll be stateside and im sure your family is too. Hopefully you can get all of your Tricare stuff figureded out quickly and without any stress. I've always had good experiences wih Tricare Prime but we've also lived in the same place for seven years now so I haven't had to deal with a PCS. Best of luck for a smooth and stress free move!

  • Good luck!! You can do it!!
  • Lol, your discussion title made me smile because my sister always says, "pray for patience not stength or you will end up strangling someone!" Of course that is a joke but it does sound like you will need strength and patience to deal with all the steps you are taking in the next few weeks! Best wishes & safe travels! :-)
  • Hahaha OMG I've been trying to be patient for like 4 months now they have been telling us back and forth. Wouldn't be such a huge problem without this like baby growing in my belly!! Hahahaha. It is hard being patient... My biggest debate right now is do we pay out of pocket to fly me and my dogs home or do we wait and see if they will have orders ready next week which allows me extra bags, free flight and cheaper rates to fly them. Trying not to stress too bad for baby's sake. Important thing is I get stateside one way or another! Hopefully in not living out of a hotel just to be near the army hospital lol
