At my 36 week check I was 3 cm and 70% and she could feel his head. It was uncomfortable but not too bad compared to labor. so far I just hit 38 weeks and this little boy hasn't decided to join us yet. ..
When I went to the hospital for my induction, I was checked and it HURT. The next time she came to check, I asked her not to LOL She laughed and said she understood. They didn't check me again until I was good and numb from the epidural. The doctor office checks weren't so bad for me, but the ones in the hospital before birth were... And it could have just been my body. I'm just glad it's over!
I had my first check Monday at my 37 week check up and it was uncomfortable and surprising as I'm 3cm dilated. Induction has been booked for Friday 10th as I have a minor complication. So these checks can be helpful
My first check with a female PA was horrible, I was in pain for days afterward. She barely told me what she was doing and just jammed her hand in there.... My dr explained to me what he was doing, how he was going to do it and made sure to relax before he did the check, both times with him have been uncomfortable, but ZERO pain. He keeps reminding me that the nurses in the hospital aren't going to give me warning, so when I see them put gloves on to start relaxing my body and know what is going to happen.
I just had my first one today. Not dilated at all (which is fine since I prefer she kept growing for a while longer). I felt quite a bit of pressure, but it wasn't really painful. I think the more you tense up, the more painful it is.
Re: Cervix checks painful?
