Weekly Sonograms???

My doctor told me today that I need to have weekly sonograms from here on out because of my history of mc and funny shaped uterus. So i guess they check to make sure the heart is pumping and the diaphragm is moving. Im grateful for the precaution and to see baby weekly, but my job is really not going to like this! Anyone else heard of this or had to do it??

Re: Weekly Sonograms???

  • I don't get them weekly, but I do have to get monthly ones. I have trouble scheduling those in so I can only imagine what your dealing with! Your job will just have to live with it, bring in a doctor's note saying you need them. You have the right attitude, seeing baby will be great and keeping you both healthy is the most important thing!!

  • I get biweekly ones, because of my high bmi, it's basically like an anatomical scan every time,so they are also time consuming...just get proper documentation.hope your employer understands
  • Yea Yesterday I had a growth check up and since he is not growing as fast as they want him to and found a problem with the babies heart i will be going to one doctor two times a week another one every two weeks and a couple specialists I don't even know how often. Lots of appointments to remember!
  • I had to get ultrasounds and cervix checks weekly since I found out I was pregnant.  I have a protein s deficiency, so they were being extra cautious.  Its been fun seeing my baby go from alien life form to tad pole and from deformed human to a perfectly formed little being.  It feels like I know her better now because of all the crazy stuff I've seen her do on the ultrasound.  And my tech is nice enough to give me at least 5 pics at EVERY visit.  I literally have a weekly pic of her from 5 weeks till now.  It wasn't a hassle for me at work.  The company only asked for documentation if I wanted the entire day off.  But they gave me mornings freely to be probed and fondled at will.
  • I found out today that I will have them weekly to monitor for excess fluid. Baby looks good but I'm measuring 5 weeks ahead due to fluid.
  • My job just asks for documentation I get biweekly scans due to previous pre term babies
  • If your job is hassling you (and you are eligible for FMLA) I would ask your doctor to  write you a note about needing to go to these appointments. You don't have to use FMLA all at the same time.
