Newborn C Diff !!!!

Well our precious little girl 7 weeks old had really bloody stool a couple days ago so we went to the pediatrian, where they did their own stool culture and we also were sent to the ER for more test. Well... It came back positive for C diff:( she was in NICU for a week after being born and on antibiotics the whole week. Has any other moms out there had a baby with C diff and what all does it mean?:(

I'm a nurse but work with adults. Make sure you wash your hands with soap and warm water anytime you change her diaper/garbage and laundry in hot water. You don't want to pass it to yourself or other family members. It causes explosive and sometimes uncontrollable diarrhea. Keep her well hydrated.

Bleach all surfaces in your house, and wash your hands with soap and water as much as possible!! I also have only worked with adults with cdiff but it's a VERY nasty bug!

Make sure when you wash your hands you use friction. It is passed along through bacteria spores. Soap and water alone with out could scrubbing and friction won't do he trick.
