October 2015 Moms

Wow you're HUGE, sure it's not twins!

This is my second time around and I never got this with my first but this time people are actually arguing with me about my due date!

This one woman at the baby store told me she sees a lot of bumps and could swear I'm due in August and I'm like no October 2nd.  My doctor even told me yesterday that I am measuring a little small for 26 weeks.

It makes me so upset!  I wish people would just keep opinions to themselves and just say congratulations!

  • People can be so rude and it's like they're completely oblivious to the rudeness.

  • I've gotten this comment. But never had someone argue with me! I read somewhere to say, boy you really know how to make a pregnant girl feel good about themselves! I haven't tried it yet but that is sitting in my go to list of things to say.. I do plan on letting people know that their comments are rude otherwise I feel like this behavior will just get worse!

Also, check out this thread it had some really funny come backs! https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12592183/zing/p1
  • Someone probably already posted this but I saw it this morning and ... It's so true hahah

  • I just got this today! its so annoying! I'm short and have always been very small so I just think i look big because I'm short...but what can you do. as long as you and baby are healthy that is all that matters.

The one that always bothers me is from my MIL (who I really love) but whenever i mention how much weight I've gained which has been on target for my weeks (for example last i was at the doctors I have gained a total of 17 lbs) she replays with "Thats all you gained?" as if I'm lying. lol, that kind of makes me feel bad.
  • People are so rude! My husband's step-dad saw me on Saturday night and the first words out of his mouth were: "Oh WOW. You're getting FAT." I was livid!

    Yikes! Not cool.

My husband works with lots of women (he's a nurse), and anytime someone asks how I'm doing, he tells them "Great, but she's getting so fat!" He's entirely kidding, but I would pay to see the looks on their faces. He swears he's almost been physically harmed by some of them :)
  • @leighann1 haha! My husband used to jokingly call me Tubby when I was in the blump stage, and I would just laugh and playfully hit him lol. His step-dad on the other hand is just a complete ass and wasn't joking. Jerk!

People keep saying my baby is big and coming in September too! I hate it! My doctor said I'm measuring big but that does not automatically mean my baby is big! I don't know why people feel the need to tell me these things. I feel plenty big thank you!
  • I'm 24 weeks and have gained 10 lbs. I'm 5'7" and weighed 140lbs before getting pregnant. (I'm 31 and have a 3 year old already)
There is a girl at my work who is overweight. Of all the comments I have gotten on how big I look she is the most offensive. She said, "woah I can't believe your only five months pregnant you're huge!" I felt like saying you still probably have 50lbs on me so I'm not too worried about it.
Why is it okay to discuss a pregnant and hormonal persons body to there face and no one else's????
  • My husband jokingly calls me tubbo how sweet huh? Lol.
I've gotten "the baby's going to be big" which I guess is their nice way of saying I'm enormous. people have told me I look great too so I feel like it balances out and I try not to let the negatives get to me although I do think being pregnant just makes people think they can say or ask you anything which is super annoying. I still loathe the "was it planned or an accident" question.
  • I am having twins & it is equally as offensive when people say, "you're too tiny to have twins in there!" It makes me feel like I'm not providing enough for my babies, even though I've gained 26 lbs! I just smile and say, "if only I can manage to stay little". People are jerks.
