New member! 33, my husband and I decided to start TTC while in Hawaii, something must have been in the water! Anyways, super excited! Between 7-9 DPO based on my fertility chart I had mild nausea and cramping, no bleeding. Totally wishful the little swimmers made it
Anyone ever experience this?

I'm also experiencing being 7dpo and hoping the swimmers made it. As are a lot of the other members in this community.
  • At my appt with my ob I asked her about nausea I've been experiencing every month around 5-10 DPO and she said it's has something to with your hormone levels. Not sure exactly which hormone or how she worded it but said it is common.
  • I have cramping and nausea every cycle starting around 7DPO. I've never been pregnant, it is always pms. The signs of early pregnancy are the same as pms.

Welcome, If you are pregnant enough for symptoms you are pregnant enough to have a positive test. Take a hpt. Please

Is this really true? The earlier you take the test the less accurate it is, so why couldn't someone experience symptoms before it was feasible to take a test? There are lots of places that talk about early pregnancy signs and symptoms, and the bump even has an "Am I pregnant" quiz. Every woman experiences things differently. I recognize women on these boards are not encouraged to symptom spot or ask someone to make a judgement call as to whether they are pregnant, but I'm not sure one can say that it is impossible to have some symptoms before you could turn out a positive hpt.

It's all pointless because symptoms mean nothing without a bfp. Many symptoms are the same as period symptoms...or gas...or bad food...or whatever. Also, when you're ttc, you're hyperaware of every twinge in your body. And the reason that we say that she can't turn a positive until she's pg is because her body doesn't even recognize that it's pg yet, therefore, no symptoms. Pg tests are very sensitive these days and can tell you very early.

Also, HPT are really sensitive these days (as early as 9 DPO). The hormones that would cause early pregnancy symptoms would be enough to pick up on a test. If no +, then the symptoms aren't pregnancy related.
  • Since you don't know how many DPO you are, I am assuming you aren't temping.. If you temping/using FF, you would know exactly how many DPO you are. I am assuming you using an app that guesses your fertile window based on a a calender type app. Please throw tht app away and get FF, a BBT and read TCOYF.
  • So true. Hyper aware of everything!!!
  • I have cramping and nausea throughout my cycle, and more than just minor. I had a lot of nausea around O and am now having a lot of cramping after O (but know that it's way too early for implantation, it's just my body doing it's thing due to whatever my hormones are triggering).

I agree with PP, being hyper aware of everything and how it can mess with your head. I'm super impatient, but I just keep telling myself that correlation does not equal causation (that is, just because I might have implantation symptoms that correlate with the standard time around which implantation should occur, it doesn't necessarily mean that implantation is causing those symptoms). As hard as it is to wait, wait until you're closer to AF and take a HPT.

Most early "symptoms" can be caused by increased progesterone. Progesterone is made after ovulation by the corpus luteum. Pregnancy/implantation may or may not occur so therefore any symptoms at this stage would be the same if you are pregnant or not pregnant. Typically if the hcg the pregnancy hormone is concentrated enough to be causing pregnancy symptoms it is concentrated enough to have a positive test. All in all though it's amazing what our mind can tell us about our body because we want something so bad. ;) I've been there too.
  • Does anyone else just get nauseated? Like, I have allergy drainage & sometimes my kids don't sleep well (so I don't). It is possible to have nausea & not have it mean you are pregnant.

I get nauseated very easily all the time. Even before TTC I would get nauseated from vitamins or my meds or being too hungry. Last month I woke up nauseated on 5 dpo and even vomited two times and then was fine the rest of the day- and I did not end up pregnant that cycle. Morale of the story- do not symptom spot.

  • Thank you for all of your super helpful, honest, (and funny) responses. Not a nauseous type person, but I am anxious and I'm sure I'm being hyper sensitive and hopeful.

Sometimes I get really nauseated and all I really have to do is poop. So baby or poop. Either way is great!

It wasn't a poop, but this really made me giggle.

I'm about 9 DPO today, testing in a few days. I'll just have to be patient and see, and just be stoked to have this great network of women for support!!!
  • I am three weeks today and I took two positive tests this am. The weeks following up until now I felt a "knot" in my left side, increased appetite and libido and random headaches. I felt the implantation and experienced quick pinching pains the saMe morning I had a wave nausea hit me. You could prob take a test now. Everyone is different. Get the test with the lines. I did a digital the other day and got a negative and then today got two pink lines! The second time I tested the second line was really light bc as the day was wearing on and I was infesting fluids, the hormone was a bit watered down.

How are you 3 weeks? That means you just ovulated 7 days ago and implantation does not occur until 7 to 9 days. HcG is produced after implantation, and it takes about 3 days after implantation to produce enough HcG to turn a pregnancy test positive.

    Thank God for Raid.

  • Maybe she meant 3 weeks past ovulation?

  • Sounds almost identical to what I experienced. Im still going to wait so not to get a false negative... Good to hear I'm not crazy for what I felt :)

It's nice to share personal experiences...but this doesn't mean that she is pregnant. It's hard to just jump into a conversation with your experience when we don't recognize your screen name.

I'm sorry I'm just not sure I believe that you "felt the implantation" happening. And plus also, most times nausea doesn't occur until 6-7 weeks pregnant.

I guess congrats on being pregnant...Hey @Kristin712 maybe you guys can be labor buddies! Lol.

  • I have felt nausea and pain during implantation. Taken 2 pregnancy tests and both negative. Period is not due till next week but maybe I took it too early.
  • I still feel like I want to say drive by even though it's not a new thread. @DanilleGlynn. Plus you might want to put * bfp mentioned before you comment for women who are struggling ttc and not up for bfps being thrown around.

    Uh yea, I agree.

What? Soooo.... You may have felt pains or nausea but there is no way to be able to say it was from implantation. You have a ball of cells a small as a period on a printed page burrowing into a lining in your uterus. There are not enough nerve receptors in your uterus for this to be possible, or on the slight chance it is possible and you have super sensitive nerves you would only notice in hind sight after a bfp like many do with implantation bleeding. Please lurk more. If you are interested in learning more about your body in regards to ttc, read taking charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
  • I think we should stop doubting and judging each other. This is supposed to be a supportive group. I really appreciate all the sharing of great thoughts, experiences, information... But it's a bummer to see people question and judge what others have to say. We all have personal experiences, and while some may be persuaded by wishful thinking, who are we to crush that hope? Being honest is great, but as a nurse I recognize I know nothing about certain areas such as fertilization and reproduction, so I tried to research. Data only shows the mainstream, this group becomes more individual. I do want to hear the truth, but the science of the human body is far from being fully discovered. Just ignore comments that upset you and be supportive where you can :)
Again thank you all for all the sharing.
  • Good luck!!! Being patient sucks! :)

Individual experiences are just that. They have nothing to do with anyone else's body. Besides the fact that it's rude board etiquette to AW your BFP to people you have spent no time supporting, she is also using her personal anecdote to give false hope, which is also discouraged.
    You are absolutely right.

  • Lchingrn said:

Just want to add to this:

I will doubt anyone who says they feel implantation happening.

    ETA: quoting fail!

I think it depends on what she thinks the feeling of implantation is. Isn't the cramping some experience technically feeling implantation? It sounded funny to me too, but maybe she just worded it funny.

  • 1. Multiple anecdotes do not equal data.
    2. Give support to get support.
    3. No one here is anyone's personal Google machine.
    4. Telling someone that there's no such thing, or that the science does not support something do NOT equal judgement.
    5. I wish people would have crushed my hope when I asked IMPOSSIBLE questions or symptom spotted. I would have been better for it sooner.

I absolutely agree with you. False hope is a horrible thing to put in someone. Just trying to keep the negativity out of this thread

I do. A couple times a week. It means I've waited too long to eat. Not pregnant. Just need to eat.
  • Just to clear this all up, apparently you can experience nausea at implantation. Just got a second little pink line this morning:)
