  • @bhargrave88 while definetly not the same, our stories share a few common threads. Thank you for sharing!

  • @mrswiebe09 no problem! I don't usually like to talk about it but hey, maybe it can help others :) I still deal with my own issues with that whole situation (being sent away, then disowned too), I fear abandonment all the time, even though I know my husband wouldn't do that! It's always there. Which is what my golden retriever always seemed to help me with. I don't let it affect my everyday living but I do get paranoid if my husband is late coming home and doesn't give me a heads up. I guess that's something I'll always deal with, but I'm ok with that. It's helped me be a much better mother. I'd have an SOB thrown in jail & probably castrated him before I sent my daughter away! But my mom had it way worse than me at the age my "incident" happened and she wasn't able to get the guy to stop, where as I was. But you'd think that would make her more protective, not "I'm sending you away!". Either way, she's missing out on the person I've turned out to be, and that's her decision. She lives with the consequences. Not me. I'll be here if she ever needs me.

But I do have relationships with my step siblings, and my half brother! And when I found my dad, I have a great step mom, and I have another step brother and half brother. My dad and I have developed a great relationship this year. I don't feel really deprived of anything anymore . I used to. But then I realized how blessed I really am.. I even thanked her last time for sending me away. :)
  • I don't typically cry when I hear songs.  However, being pregnant has changed that a bit, and now whenever I hear Ghostface Killa's "All That I Got Is You", I'm all tears.  Who would have thought that 90's hip hop would make me cry?
  • Good Riddance by Green Day. ..my ex step son was hit and killed on his bicycle, I was in charge of music for his memorial and this sing just had so many emotions. Whenever I have a bad day it comes on the radio.

I Loved Her First. . my dad and I'm wedding song

You Had Me From Hello by Kenny Chesney. ..my husband and I wedding song. He asked me out right after the relationship with my ex whom we'd lost his son had ended and I turned him down about 10 times. Little did he know I actually feel in love with him at first sight which was months earlier
  • Before I got pregnant with this baby, who is my rainbow baby, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" would get me to bawling my eyes out. I was starting to think I was never going to have a child. Luckily I got some of my issues figured out and finally have a successful pregnancy.
It's the Judy Garland version, but I've never heard the one by someone else that another poster mentioned.
  • I'll play! Bridge over troubled water by Simon and Garfunkel. I can't quite remember why it first did it for me but that song saved my life once.

Normally I'm not a cryer either but sissy's song by Alan Jackson reminds me of my mom who passed away 5 years ago (She was only 39 & I had to take my siblings in to live with me) We also played it at her funeral. Tim McGraw "if your reading this" if I die young the band perry. Songs about losing a loved one get to me ever since I lost my mom :(( and Collin raye if you get there before I do
