Preppy Boys Names...Suggestions Needed!

My DS is named Carter and DH and I kind of like the preppier boys names. We have a few, but none we are necessarily "in love" with yet (Reid, Blake, Tanner, Logan, Aidan, Thatcher). Can you girls make some suggestions for preppy boys' names you think might work based on our style or that you love? Thanks!

  • Blaine is a train... That's all I think of with that name. Love the suggestions of Landon and Tucker.
  • Reid is alright.
These sound more country to me though, so I'm confused by the style of name you like.

  • Dawson, Corbin, Campbell, Grayson...
  • I'm not getting "preppy" from any of these suggestions (except Blaine, because duh). To me, preppy=classic or family name.
  • These are great suggestions so far - keep them coming!

    I like Blake.

    I suggest Liam.

I don't really get a preppy vibe from them (more like a well read/athletic vibe.)

I've heard that name on at least 4 boys I can think of off hand but I've never heard it on an appliance. :/

If someone names their kid that, it's a name. All names started somewhere.

  • Blake and Reid are my favorites from your list. I also really like Liam.
  • When I think "preppy" boy names, I think of Landon & Carter. I came here to say that, but it seems you already have a Carter, so Landon is my suggestion! Although, I do love Reid, too. Very cool name.

I love Landon, my only concern is that I know personally of one little girl Landon and there's a Landon (woman) on that show "Southern Charm" so am kind of worried that people are co-opting it for a girl's name. Ugh! A lot of the boy names I like (Blake) I feel this way about. Not sure if this changes what I'll do but it's definitely a concern.

It's a quote from Pretty in Pink. Get your panties out of your ass.

Lol!! Ok touché. I need to watch that movie I guess ;)
  • Going for preppy, Conrad and Clarke are both great names. There is also Blake. Brooke (Yup. It is totally a guy's name) and Laurie (also a guy's name - it's short for Lawrence).

  • You might find some inspiration from this recent Town & Country preppy names slideshow --

There's also always the Chip/Skip/Trip options -- (chip off the old block named after dad -- I've also known a friend's dad who goes by "Blocky" for this reason, but that's pretttttay out there; skip a generation named after grandfather; and such-and-such the III.)
  • I like Blake! Other suggestions: Alastair Ambrose Barrett Brooks Winston Blaine Channing Carlisle Rhodes Langston

I think Winston is adorable for a boy, but my DH is not convinced.

  • I love Cannon!
  • Since you're pretty much only considering last names, why not look at your family tree for inspiration?
  • For whatever reason, all I could think of as I read through this entire thread is Atticus.

So maybe not sporty-preppy, but definitely would fit in at prep-school.
  • Bennett
    Sullivan
    Chandler
    Preston
    Camden
    Fitzgerald
    Turner

Basically I think a lot of surnames sound pretty preppy.
