Newborn Photo Sessions

We're having ours done Friday but I thought this would be a good place to talk about ideas for newborn pictures and show off our LOs!

DH is a lineman so I want to have pics done with all of his gear. Found some great inspiration on Pinterest. And our nursery is nautical so I've got ideas for that too. Can't wait to see the results!

I tried to think of photo ideas for my profession too but there's nothing cute about otoscopes, hearing aids, and audiometers.

I'm laughing to myself....we own a septic and porta-pot business, so I can only imagine what our photo session would look like if we were going off of that as a theme!
But we are doing family photos after LO arrives, just hopefully not involving poop and the like.

There's nothing cute about stethoscopes .... Or Virginias..... Which is all my job entails lol. There's tons of cute John Deere stuff to usefor our babe but I have fox stuff to use and just one john Deere crocheted hat. I wish I could stick him in a tractor wheel and take a pic...... Bah. Just kidding folks.... Don't call the authorities.

Maybe a plastic beer stein? Right there with you on the Football confusion, blaming it on the limited imagery of my 4am brain. DH is an athlete and with DS1 we did pictures with Dad in uniform and baby sleeping hanging on his arm in matching black cloth diaper. We loved them but they were super cheesy and ultimately nothing we wanted to share outside of our family. Just for DH and I. Having some father son pictures was great and I'm glad we did some of them out of uniform and no props I deleted the mom/baby pictures in a fit of post pregnancy body image panic, not sad about that. The photos we loved were on a plan white faux fur blanket with a variety of simple poses.

We did these all ourselves and did them a little late, maybe 10 days old so we had an alert baby in all of them. Dr. Goggle says 5-12 days for the sleepy baby photos. We are going to try over the next 2-3 days for DS2 which will be 8-10 days. He's a more developed baby, more of a chunk so we hope we can still get some sleepy newborn poses out of him. DS1 was a skinny crabby little mess! Bless his little toddler heart, but he's still my high needs baby.

We didn't want any themed/also minimal posing to try make them timeless. Just personal preference... Sorry for the watermarks.

Love this! DH played baseball for most of his life and even though we're having a girl, I'd love to get a baseball shot in there somewhere. My MIL already bought her a pink softball mitt lol

Your LO looks absolutely adorable!

You guys all have some terrific pics! I'm due next Monday, so no pics yet.... We both work in sleep medicine, so that one comes automatically lol But we had a few of our maternity photos done together on the Harley, so we bought him some cute little Harley Davidson outfits, and our photographer found some cute baby leather cuff bracelets and accessories, and we will get a few newborn pics done in his Harley gear and the rest done more traditionally. Looking forward to it!

Mine is in 1 hour! Im so excited! BTW seattle mom's there is a Groupon for jcpenney for 20 bucks for the photo shoot. Plus you get 40% off the extra stuff. I'll try to post some of the pics when I get back we are doing a few family photos too. So excited to get some awesome pics of lo. Thanks ladies I hadn't thought about doing pics really and you guys convinced me to ask dh who was all for it!

DH's parents came up today and surprised us with his aunt who's a professional photographer. She lives in Wisconsin and flew here with all her equipment to surprise us with a photo session for LO. She flew in last night and flies home tomorrow. Such a thoughtful and sweet surprise and gift!!

Oh man, I'm burning up with envy! Our hospital offered one free professional shot, with the option of buying a package. DH said that's sleazy and preys upon new moms in hormonal state, and refused. I coulda killed him!!
