Hubby and I started putting some things together for our nursery this week! I love to see what all you ladies are doing! Show your pictures if you got them
Nice! When I was a FTM, I totally would have been intimidated by how "set" you are already. Your LO doesn't need anything else but all the love you have to offer! Nice work to you and your hubby!!
It's so cute!! We are moving so I am just collecting stuff for now and then we get to put it together right when the baby comes. It is killing me to not be able to put together the nursery now! (
Hi! Just so you know there is another thread like this. It has tons of photos from others who are working on their nursery. Check it out. lots of cute ones in O15.
Ah this is stressing me out.. We just moved and the room where our nursery is gonna be is full of boxes!! I need to get some motivation to find a spot for everything... Where did you get your mattress set?
YOU HAVE SO MUCH DONE!!!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous but this gives me anxiety. I just keep thinking about how full our calendar is from now till baby and I am stressing over finding the time!! Luckily we have the basics of the room ready - just need a few more essentials but I'd love to have everything DONE a few weeks before so I can just spend my last weeks sleeping & eating and waiting for baby!

We actually didn't buy a bedding set we bout the sheet from target for about $6. We got some random blankets from there as well. We also got the mesh crib bumpers from Walmart. We decided to not buy the bedding set because it was so expensive and we wouldn't use most of it anyways! All of this cost less than half the price

Haha that was the plain for me too girl! Eat and sleep the last bit! I figured I might as well do the hard stuff while I feel good and can move around pretty well Don't stress! It will all get done in good time:)
Our nursery for our boy is as finished as it can be at this point! Still waiting to get a crib from my mom and dad that I used. The room is kinda like a landing at the top of a stairs so we are having a banister and hand rail installed. I created a gallery wall on the stair case wall. Love how it all turned out and hope our future little cowboy grows to love it!! The room will be reused for future Fry babies and then transitioned into a playroom/homework area.
Wow you ladies are on the ball! I picked a color scheme so we could register but we have gotten zero things for baby so far.
Same here!!! I have 3 colors I put on the wall that I've been staring at for 2 weeks lol haven't bought a thing yet!
you both are further than me. When I mention anything baby (nursery, registers, etc) my SO doesn't understand the rush and keeps saying "We have four months left. Why do we need to do this all now?" Agh! He just doesn't get it. I think after I stormed out of the room saying "fine I'll do everything for our future child by myself since you don't care!" He's starting to get the picture! Haha
My DH and I are so busy that we kind of got a move on it in June. It was the only month where we had weekends free. We still need curtains and a bed skirt (which my MIL will make if we can ever agree on fabric). My DH is also building a corner bookcase over the next couple of weeks, and our lounger is ordered but not in. I'm waiting on my showers for most of the art. My MIL wants to paint a mural on one of the walls of giraffes and elephants, but I'm not crazy about that because we'll have to paint it if our little girl is into something else later. I'm kind of leaning towards simple wall decals from Etsy, I know someone is buying us this little elephant picture, and I was thinking about maybe some cute book quotes around the bookcase. But I'm still figuring it out.
@MirandaC1984 isn't Home Goods awesome? I've found so many cute nursery items there!
Finally finished the nursery this morning. The one thing you don't see is the glider, but that's on the other side of the room. Close-ups are of the items I made just for DD. And just for fun, one pic of DS's side of the room.
Well, we have started cleaning out the nursery, which was previously (currently?) being used as a guest room/office. The main hurdle is getting the furniture in there now, out. Trying to sell it on craigslist because I refuse to put another thing in the basement. If not, I'll donate it to Habitat for Humanity. After that I have BIG PLANS, lol.
You guys are giving me such anxiety...but when I talk to my fiancee he's like, what are you worried about? There's plenty of time! Ugh.

I am a FTM, and 100% this. I am feeling a little better that we have started talking about painting, although I'm nervous about paint fumes and not being able to open windows in this hot weather. We are hoping to do vinyl decals of fish and coral on the walls, it's lovely in my head but who knows what will actually happen. Also, we can't afford most of the big ticket items yet unless family decide to help out so we have nothing to put in there at this point anyway. Let's hope it all comes together by the end of October, otherwise at least he'll be sleeping in our room at first anyway so he won't know the difference! We want to put this behind the crib, but with the fish in dark blue:
Hey ladies. This will be my second baby girl and my first child is a 3 year old in her own big bed so we have all the furniture that we used for her nursery years ago. That being said, we have not done a damn thing. Hubby works from home and the office will turn into the nursery. He will move all his stuff down into the basement. We have a bassinet that I'm sure baby will be in for the first few weeks at least so I guess I'm not freaking out about the need to do the nursery just yet. I plan to breastfeed again so all I really need is a new breast pump, some onesies and some diapers:) I have two more weeks of my grad school class and then I'm taking the fall semester off so I will have time in August to prep! One thing at a time. If the baby comes early, so be it. We will wing it! I'm only posting this so others aren't freaking out that their nursery is not done. Trust me, you will all be good to go when baby arrives!
We got the room painted, fan hung, curtains hung, and crib assembled today! Still planning on painting doors and trim, but we're getting close to done. Yay! :-bd

@VioletandRose, you do still have plenty of time. You don't even have to have the nursery 100% when baby arrives, though it's nice to have it set up.
The only reason I'm done at this point is because I already had the crib, bookshelf, and a few other items, and I'd been scheming about how I'd decorate this little corner since about 6 weeks. I wanted as well to have DS get used to the baby's stuff being in a corner of "his" room. But it's not like you can't bring a baby home without a perfect nursery.
We cleaned out the room that will be the nursery (was a guest room); it required moving an entire room of furniture from that room to other places around the house (new guest room, master, basement). We also set up the primary furniture: crib, changing table glider chair and dresser. This weekend I will begin going through clothes to find what clothes I have and need. I am thinking about waiting to set up bedding, since I will then need to take it all out again to wash before the baby arrives. I bought a ton of prints from a children's author to frame for the walls. I just need to purchase some more decor and accessories (wall decal/mural, piggy bank, bins for changing table). But at 27 weeks, I am not in a rush .
Re: Nursery!
You might try Walmart or Target. They have a 3 x 2 that might fit better if the 4x2 is too long.
