Thank you for the back-up ladies. Sometimes I wonder if I'm over-reacting. I'm much more sensitive to how people care for their children now.
Child seat safety has no overreactions. My best friends nephew died last year because his baby sitter had him in his car seat wrong, so in my book you did good. I probably would have called my brother screaming but again there is no such thing as over reacting when you see a child in their seat wrong.
@mrsdhouse89 I read somewhere that a good portion of people don't install their car seats properly as well. You'd better believe that I am reading the entire little booklet that came with mine!
We get ours inspected by the state patrol. I don't know if all states do it (they should in my opinion) but I know some hospitals offer safety checks and some fire stations.
My sons car seat won't expire till after this baby would grow out of it, but I bought her a new one to be safe. It's one item I get angry at seeing being sold used. I get people want to save money but it's the one item people shouldn't cheap out on!
@BrooklynBroussard, maybe they were at a rest stop and not actually driving? Could it be possible that they took the car seat with baby out of the vehicle and when she went to strap him in, she got a photo op in first? (I think a part of my brain refuses to believe she traveled like that!)
My moan: THE SWELLING. I went to work on our community garden plot today and was in the sun for only 45 minutes and had to take a break. My hands looked like vinyl gloves that someone one blew up, balloon-style. My face and ankles don't look so hot either. It's uncomfortable, to say the very least. WAHHHH!
My moans: I just want a crunchy roll and/or a shrimp tempura roll, but I don't want to leave my house. I also really want to go swimming, but I don't want to use the pool at our apartment complex and the pool at my mom's is so dirty from her being out of town. Maybe I'll take my little SIL swimming tomorrow afternoon at the pool in my MIL's neighborhood.
I'm so tired today!!! I got to my doctors appointment by 930 am to be seen by 11 the drive down there was also crazy took us 45min to get there normally a 20 min drive...after dh and I gt bck home to get my laundry ready to wash...went picked up the kids by 2 took them to eat then off to the wash finished by 530 got home put all the stuff away...its 645 and I realize I didn't buy the buns from the supermarket that I needed to make sloppy joes ! BT I am so tired now that I don't even want to cook!!!...omg I am pooped!!!!!
I got a foster care case transferred to me from another worker who left my company. The worker returned the child home with no glasses, no medication and no leg brace (cp)! Now I'm left to piece together bread crumbs and figure out all of this kids service providers. Apparently this worker didn't enter any notes (required), complete a report that was due last month, or listen to any of the family's concerns. I hate that I now have to go to court for this case and look incompetent. Ugh! I do NOT get paid enough for this shit!
@BrooklynBroussard you are SO not overreacting! I actually just got surveyed at the grocery store by a child safety advocacy group (they had me take a survey and looked at DS in his car seat to make sure he was strapped in correctly and the seat was installed correctly). The lady told me she'd had some people who were carrying their infants in their laps. I very nearly started crying I just couldn't believe anyone could be so clueless.
Ok, Monday Monday Monday ! How I love Mondays, and how I HATE how there are so many people around me complaining. Lighten up, stop complaining and enjoy life a little would yahs.
My two-year old to me he'd help with the dishes (he was trying to get out of going to bed). I wish I could've taken him up on that--those dishes have been waiting to be washed for 2 hours!
Doing dishes is my least favorite chore and my apartment does not have a dishwasher. :-/
@J1D, Seriously just looking into that. I don't see any questionable posts from her. Anyone?
It makes me nervous because she was so kind and helpful! Plus, someone on another post just flipped out on me for no reason. It's a bit discouraging. I don't want to lose members of our community, and I don't want to get reported just because someone misinterpreted something perfectly harmless I said.
I feel ya. I can't think of a single reason to report someone. Maybe harassment, but even then, I would just ignore. I've been called a few choice things because it's hard to read my tone, I guess. Thankfully, I haven't been reported just yet. (I'm sure I will be soon.)
Another moan: The report button is not a dis-like button!
Buy a liquid ant killer called Terro. It's available at Home Depot or lowes. Works like magic. I had an ant problem not too long ago and those liquid ant traps work wonders. Takes the whole colony out.
If one more person asks me if I'm sure I'm due in October I'm gonna back hand them. Yes I'm due in October, yes there's only one. And yes I have a short temper. Can't people just smile and walk away. I'm tired of people looking bug eyed at me!!!
@BrooklynBroussard I just read that thread. I was so confused why she got so mad. We shouldn't have to feel so scared of being banned. You're by far one of the best at making a point without coming across as rude or snarky. Meanwhile I just don't respond if I can't contain my sarcasm or disgust lol I'm a work in progress

Agree! They are like magic, but pregnant ladies should probably have someone else set them out. I'm sure there are lots of nasty things in the traps. They do really work well and pretty quickly, too!

@LiveNLove44 she got banned, but her post history is really kind! It just scares me because somebody really got upset at me today, and now I don't know what is ban worthy! I know people have misinterpreted things you've said too! It's just a bit scary for those of us who post a lot!
This is a true story (quoted for clarification). I'm going to check out Krysta6's situation. That bums me out. I've been really impressed thus far with O15's user base and the variety of people we have here while we are still able to maintain some civility. Hrmph.
@BrooklynBroussard, I have been reading and searching and I don't get it. Usually there's something that is just a little edgy that would get someone banned, but I don't see it! It has GOT to be an error.
@laceyjaep I definitely understand about husband losing his job. Mine did too, two weeks after we found out I was pregnant. He is still looking! It has been tough but it all will work out. Do t let it get you down and just keep trucking along!
Monday moan: I just really want some kiwi. And pineapple. And beef jerky. And a cookie ice cream sandwich. And steak. And because I didn't break down and get myself any of this, I cried myself to sleep on the floor. And now my back hurts. What is wrong with me stupid hormones!
Also, going back to the car seat incidents. That terrifies me that parents are so neglectful. Where I'm at you can't leave the hospital until you demonstrate you have a car seat and it is installed correctly. You are literally escorted outside with a nurse and security guard and have to show them your set up before you can leave. .....not sure what parents without vehicles do.
The baby flipped head down and now even snack sized meals make me full.
My dd slept in my bed and peed all over. Like insane amount of pee. So I'm washing and dealing with that gross mess. She hasn't peed the bed in forever but of course it had to be in my bed.
My coffee maker has five long beeps when it is finished brewing. I can't figure out how to shut the sound off, and I'm fairly certain I can't. What is a pregnant mom to do?? I want my half-caff cup this afternoon while DD is napping, and my coffee maker is going to ruin it for everybody! Grumble grumble.
Who got banned? I can't imagine reporting a user unless they were actually threatening me or persuing me outside of the forum. Id hate if a user was getting punished because other groups are out of control. Not that i know that's why, but i don't get what was ban worthy just from reading that post.

Also, when did my arms get so fat?!
