Mo the kitten is gone my mil told us today. Don't have any idea what happened........ Farm life sucks sometimes. Really sad! @KarasTwin I looove those products! Hilarious! Can't wait to see yours and @mvargas12 birth announcements. I am positive you guys will deliver before me!
Possibly a dumb question-- the Boba/moby/wrap style carriers look amazing and I want one. But.... Couldn't I just go to the store and buy X number of yards of semi stretchy cotton fabric and achieve the same thing without shelling out 40-50 dollars?
Theoretically, yes, you can go to a fabric store and make your own (about 5-6 yards depending on your size)...however... Knit fabric is about $12 a yard where I'm at.
@klkonwi I'm not scheduled till 10 so if you go in at 6 tonight, there's a chance you might meet your little guy, first! I can't wait to see everyone on the announcement board! Also, sorry about the kitten, that's so sad.
I have this feeling my baby is going to give me the same hell in labor as he has this last 9 months. So I think he won't be born til tomorrow afternoon. @KarasTwin
@klkonwi@KarasTwin good luck ladies! Cannot wait to see your announcements. Will be thinking of you and sending you all the good birth juju I have in my body (it wasn't used for my birth anyway..) <:-P

I made two ring slings, from fabric I found online on clearance. Like PP suggested, if you can find the fabric cheap enough, it can work, but you have to be careful about the quality, too. And, you really can't just like, sew a bunch of smaller pieces together, because the strength of the fabric is compromised then.

You're probably right I feel like moms have a strange sixth sense about how their babies will come into the world... I told everyone my first was going to take his sweet time, then rush like crazy... After 3 weeks of Prodromal labor, I jumped from 1 cm to 5cm in 16 hours. I had 12 hours of active labor, stalling at 8cm for 5 hours, then he shot out of me like a cannonball in three pushes. Four years later, he's still taking his sweet time, then shooting off like a rocket in a great big hurry.
So here I am at 3am. Tired, contracting, and debating what to do. I really want to get some sleep to have strength for tomorrow, and managed to do so off and on for a few hours earlier, but contractions have increased in intensity so laboring in bed SUCKS. I got up to walk around outside and the contractions increase in frequency but decreased in intensity. I want consistency before I go to the hospital damnit!
So my AW for the week is that I'm super excited that DS (and all the other June 1 babies), share a celebrity b-day with surfer Bethany Hamilton's LO. She and her husband were on the Amazing Race a couple years ago and just the cutest couple.
all the spit up talk on the breastfeeding thread.. makes me feel like ill be designating the bathtub as our feeding spot >.<
also worried about my clothes because i only have like 5 things that fit/im comfortable wearing. and at $3.50 per load here.. i cant wash them every single day
@JessHeppell my kid very rarely gets my clothes! and sadly, we'd have to spend the whole day in the tub... but he gives cues and if I keep him on a burp rag, everything is ok. though we do keep a fitted sheet on our couch now...!
I've been on cititec since I got here last night. I'm on my 4th or 5th dose now and then they'll start pitocin. I finally felt real contractions past night and I was like NOPE. I haven't been shy about main medication. They gave me something that knocked me out and it was aweeeeeesomeeee! I got my epidural like an hour ago. I epidurals.
Thinking of you @klkonwi and congrats on your cute little one @KarasTwin !! <:-P

Seriously, clothes has been such a pain - at least for going out of the house - Finding things that fit and are good for feeding.

I totally agree about finding the right clothes. I may have to invest in some nursing tops. I'm just too stubborn and cheap to deal with that right now.
I'm basically shirtless unless I have to leave the house. I've even been letting the dog out in just a bra, but it's before 6am so I figure it's ok. Classy, I know.
Hey everyone! First time poster, long time lurker! I had a moment last night between 3 and 5 am when I was like, omg I wish I had posted more so I could complain about my insomnia! So I thought I would intro myself so I can jump in on all the awesome support that you guys are giving each other post partum and in these last awful days while we all wait to give birth!
A little about myself: I am a first time mom, 41 weeks today, expecting a boy, and have had a completely uneventful pregnancy, which I know is good! But because of this, I am facing not meeting this baby until 42 weeks and its MESSING WITH MY HEAD.
Looking forward to getting to know you all in the coming months as we all deliver and figure out how to be mommas!
@SmashJam welcome!! I'm right there with you. Two nights ago for some reason the insomnia kicked in and I can't seem to sleep laying down without waking up every two hours with hideous back pain. Today is the due date but little man is snuggled in good and doesn't want to meet the world yet. I don't consent to an induction until I'm past 41 weeks but I have a dr apt tomorrow so I'm interested to see what he says.
Thanks for the welcomes guys! Let's see if I can get this tagging right now...@rachelkaylene and @serenamarr glad to know I will have some company in my long haul towards 42 weeks.
I'm so behind on who is in labor, who's being induced soon and who's had babies and were waiting on announcements?! So I'm super excited to see everyone's BA and yay babies!!!
@mellymar you're due for induction today (it's Tuesday in Germany already) right?! Sooo excited to know how your Team Green turns out!! Good luck, lady!!
@Serenamarr You're a goddess of patience. Hang in there, you're doing such a good job gestating that babe!
Thinking of all you laboring mamas, too. You can do this!!
To balance the potentially annoying positivity: it's 4 am, DH is snoring, LO must be having a growth spurt because he's uncharacteristically fussy, and I had raging diarrhea today (tmi sorry) and now insomnia. Holding LO asleep on the Boppy is nice consolation though
@virginiaunicorn11 thanks it's been a little over 24 hours but I've been on pain medication for most of it, the first made me super drowsy so I've slept through most of my time here and I also got the epidural earlier today so I'm just hanging out.
I'm late for everything and my best friend was like, "this is definitely your kid" lol:-L

My neighbor saw us walking to the store earlier today and said 'not yet?! That kid is stubborn!' And DH came back with, 'yes, it's definitely her kid!'

Hope you are able to get some sleep soon!
@virginiaunicorn11 is that your actual baby in your picture? If so, he's absolutely precious. Love the chubby cheeks!
