3 Baby showers too many?

Hello everyone - 

So I was talking with my MIL and SIL yesterday and they want to start planning baby showers. My MIL is ready to jump on the planning wagon and get things going now, I was thinking for that one make it coed since it's my husbands side of the family and why not have everyone there? My SIL (my side of the family) wants to host one for me since I hosted for their first this one will be more my side of the family (ladies only) along with some church family. The last shower would be a friend shower, no family just close friends getting together. 

Is that too many shower? 
MIL = about 18 people, SIL = 16 people, Friend = 19 people

Thoughts?

    If you have different groups of people I think it would be better to split it up. 15-20 people per party is a good size. More than that gets too crowded. This is of course as long as you feel up for 3 parties.

    As long as your guest lists are not overlapping (though there are usually exceptions to be made for the grandmothers to be on both sides) you're fine.

    You don't get to decide if a shower will be co-ed. That's for the host to decide, as it doubles the cost of the shower (need a larger space, need more food and drink). 

    Other than that, as long as no one is invited to more than one shower, it's fine.

    @sunrise135 - I agree if I wasn't brought up about a co-ed shower I wouldn't personally ask for it. But since it's his mom and sister they asked if he would want to be involved too :) 

    Honestly I think that it's silly that the SO is left out of the baby showers, it's their baby too - usually if it's two women they are both invited to the shower same if it's two men. Why are the SOs excluded if we don't fit into that category?

    If this is your first, then yes I think its fine. If its your second, third, etc then absolutely not okay.
